Every year, there are more and more cars on the roads that cause pollution. To reduce it, conventional vehicles have started to be replaced by electric and hybrid vehicles. Therefore, the average fuel/energy consumption of electric, hybrid, spark ignition and self-ignition vehicles over a test distance of 100 km was investigated. The test results were then compared to the manufacturer's data and the average difference between the manufacturer's data and the test data is shown. The largest average difference in fuel consumption between the manufacturer's data and the test data was observed for hybrid vehicles (over 230 %) and the smallest for electric vehicles (less than 10 %) and spark ignition vehicles (almost 18 %). Considering costs, the largest difference between manufacturer's data and test data is observed, as in the previous case, in electric vehicles (0.25 €) and the largest in hybrid vehicles (almost 6 € per 100 kilometers driven).

Early detection of scoliosis with school screening and quick, easy, and reliable assessment of its progress are of paramount importance in the management of patients. There have been several tools described, with the most common being the analog scoliometer. Most recently, smartphone applications have entered this area with and without the use of sleeves for the device. There is no research that has evaluated the accuracy of measurements both left and right in either digital or analog devices. In this study, we evaluated the reliability and validity of a new digital scoliometer called the Scolioscope. Thirty subjects were included for the intra-rater reliability study. ICC values >0.9 were calculated both for same-day and between-day measurements. The device was highly accurate with an average difference from the ones set on the sine bar of 0.03° for right-side measurements and 0.18° for the left. These measurements suggest a highly accurate and reliable tool.

Our aim was to estimate the date of the origin and the transmission rates of the major local clusters of subtypes A1 and B in Greece. Phylodynamic analyses were conducted in 14 subtype A1 and 31 subtype B clusters. The earliest dates of origin for subtypes A1 and B were in 1982.6 and in 1985.5, respectively. The transmission rate for the subtype A1 clusters ranged between 7.54 and 39.61 infections/100 person years (IQR: 9.39, 15.88), and for subtype B clusters between 4.42 and 36.44 infections/100 person years (IQR: 7.38, 15.04). Statistical analysis revealed that the average difference in the transmission rate between the PWID and the MSM clusters was 6.73 (95% CI: 0.86 to 12.60; p = 0.026). Our study provides evidence that the date of introduction of subtype A1 in Greece was the earliest in Europe. Transmission rates were significantly higher for PWID than MSM clusters due to the conditions that gave rise to an extensive PWID HIV-1 outbreak ten years ago in Athens, Greece. Transmission rate can be considered as a valuable measure for public health since it provides a proxy of the rate of epidemic growth within a cluster and, therefore, it can be useful for targeted HIV prevention programs.

Analog circuits play an important role in modern electronic systems. Aiming to accurately diagnose the faults of analog circuits, this paper proposes a novel variant of a convolutional neural network, namely, a multi-scale convolutional neural network with a selective kernel (MSCNN-SK). In MSCNN-SK, a multi-scale average difference layer is developed to compute multi-scale average difference sequences, and then these sequences are taken as the input of the model, which enables it to mine potential fault characteristics. In addition, a dynamic convolution kernel selection mechanism is introduced to adaptively adjust the receptive field, so that the feature extraction ability of MSCNN-SK is enhanced. Based on two well-known fault diagnosis circuits, comparison experiments are conducted, and experimental results show that our proposed method achieves higher performance.

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit Indonesia since March 2020 until now. This health disaster has affect Indonesia's macroeconomic conditions and the performance of many companies. The study examined the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the stock prices of all companies included in the IDX30 Index. The hypothesis test used is the average difference test. The results of the study found that the Covid-19 pandemic could have a positive, negative, or no effect on the stock prices of companies included in the IDX30 Index.

So far, no studies of material deformations (e.g., bending of sports equipment) have been performed to measure the curvature (w″) using an optoelectronic measurement system OMS. To test the accuracy of the w″ measurement with an OMS (Qualisys), a calibration profile which allowed to: (i) differentiates between three w″ (0.13˙ m−1, 0.2 m−1, and 0.4 m−1) and (ii) to explore the influence of the chosen infrared marker distances (50 mm, 110 mm, and 170 mm) was used. The profile was moved three-dimensional at three different mean velocities (vzero = 0 ms−1, vslow = 0.2 ms−1, vfast  = 0.4 ms−1) by an industrial robot. For the accuracy assessment, the average difference between the known w″ of the calibration profile and the detected w″ from the OMS system, the associated standard deviation (SD) and the measuring point with the largest difference compared to the defined w″ (=maximum error) were calculated. It was demonstrated that no valid w″ can be measured at marker distances of 50 mm and only to a limited extent at 110 mm. For the 170 mm marker distance, the average difference (±SD) between defined and detected w″ was less than 1.1 ± 0.1 mm−1 in the static and not greater than −3.8 ± 13.1 mm−1 in the dynamic situations. The maximum error in the static situation was small (4.0 mm−1), while in the dynamic situations there were single interfering peaks causing the maximum error to be larger (−30.2 mm−1 at a known w″ of 0.4 m−1). However, the Qualisys system measures sufficiently accurately to detect curvatures up to 0.13˙ m−1 at a marker distance of 170 mm, but signal fluctuations due to marker overlapping can occur depending on the direction of movement of the robot arm, which have to be taken into account.

During hot days, the temperature inside vehicles parked under the sun is very high; according to previous studies, the vehicle cabin temperature can be more than 20 °C higher than the ambient temperature. Due to the greenhouse effect, the heating that occurs inside a vehicle while it is parked under the sun has an impact on energy crises and environmental pollution. In addition, the increase in the temperature inside the cabin will have an effect on the dashboard and plastic accessories and the leather on the seats will age rapidly. The ventilation of solar energy from the cabin of a vehicle parked under the blazing sun has received a great deal of attention. The present study was conducted to utilize a renewable energy system to operate the ventilation system through a novel portable ventilation system powered by solar energy. Experimental results were obtained for a vehicle with and without the solar ventilation system. The results indicate that the maximum daily average difference in temperature during the experimental tests between the cabin of the car and the atmospheric temperature with and without the solar ventilation system was 7.2 °C and 20.6 °C, respectively. With and without the usage of the system, the minimum average difference in temperature between the automobile’s cabin and the atmospheric temperature was 6.2 °C and 17.6 °C, respectively. The results indicate that the proposed system is effective and that the thermal comfort inside the vehicle’s cabin improved when the vehicle was parked under the hot sun. Therefore, this system helps to protect human bodies, conserve energy, protect the environment, protect the vehicle’s cabin, and provide a comfortable environment.

Abstract The COVID-19 epidemic has brought more people into their homes, so it is hoped that their behavior towards dengue mosquito nests in their homes will improve. The design of this study was cross-sectional with a consecutive sampling approach in data collection, which was conducted between May 6, 2020 – May 9, 2020, in Indonesia. Data was collected using a questionnaire (google form) which was assessed with ten indicators. Data analysis was carried out by using the average difference test to determine differences in people’s behavior. The analysis results showed no significant difference (p>0.005) with the community’s behavior in controlling the dengue vector before and during the pandemic. Suggestions that need to be made are continuous education about DHF and efforts to prevent transmission by eradicating mosquito nests.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of covid 19 on financial performance and the factors that are thought to influence it, namely capital adequacy, risk and efficiency. The study was conducted on banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the 2019 and 2020 periods. , which results in a total of 21 banking companies as a sample. The test method used is to test the average difference and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the average ROA, CAR, NPL, LDR and BOPO before covid and during covid are significantly different. Multiple regression results show that LDR has a positive effect on ROA and BOPO has a negative effect on ROA while CAR and NPL have no effect on ROA.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji dampak covid 19 atas kinerja keuangan serta faktor yang diduga mempengaruhinya yakni kecukupan modal, risiko dan efisiensi.Penelitian dilakukan pada perusahaan perbankan yang terdafrat di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) pada periode 2019 dan 2020. Penentuan sampel berdasarkan purposive sampling method, yang menghasilkan jumlah  21 perusahaan perbankan sebagai sampel. Metode pengujian yang dipakai adalah dengan melakukan pengujian beda rata-rata dan analisis regresi berganda. Diperoleh hasil bahwa rata-rata ROA, CAR, NPL, LDR dan BOPO sebelum covid dengan selama covid adalah berbeda signikan, Hasil regresi berganda memperlihatkan bahwa LDR berpengaruh positif atas ROA dan BOPO berpengaruh negatif atas ROA sedangkan CAR, dan NPL tidak berpengaruh atas ROA.

Abstract Background Remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is a central mechanism in the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and remodeling of type VI collagen has been suggested to be associated with disease progression. Biomarkers that reflect and predict the progression of IPF would provide valuable information for clinicians when treating IPF patients. Methods Two serological biomarkers reflecting formation (PRO-C6) and degradation (C6M) of type VI collagen were evaluated in a real-world cohort of 178 newly diagnoses IPF patients. All patients were treatment naïve at the baseline visit. Blood samples and clinical data were collected from baseline, six months, and 12 months visit. The biomarkers were measured by competitive ELISA using monoclonal antibodies. Results Patients with progressive disease had higher (P = 0.0099) serum levels of PRO-C6 compared to those with stable disease over 12 months with an average difference across all timepoints of 12% (95% CI 3–22), whereas C6M levels tended (P = 0.061) to be higher in patients with progressive disease compared with stable patients over 12 months with an average difference across all timepoints of 12% (95% CI − 0.005–27). Patients who did not receive antifibrotic medicine had a greater increase of C6M (P = 0.043) compared to treated patients from baseline over 12 months with an average difference across all timepoints of 12% (95% CI − 0.07–47). There were no differences in biomarker levels between patients receiving pirfenidone or nintedanib. Conclusions Type VI collagen formation was related to progressive disease in patients with IPF in a real-world cohort and antifibrotic therapy seemed to affect the degradation of type VI collagen. Type VI collagen formation and degradation products might be potential biomarkers for disease progression in IPF.
