Polymer-based sealing materials currently play a large and important role in almost all areas of industry. The use of sealants can increase the energy saving of building structures, the safety of vehicles, etc. Sealants are equally used in such specialized applications as the aerospace field, and are also used to solve everyday problems, such as sealing plumbing. The main consumption of sealants is in construction and automotive. This review provides data on the global and domestic market for sealing materials; The basic terms and definitions used in the field of adhesive and sealing materials are analyzed. The main differences between the terms adhesive and sealant are discussed. The classification of sealants is given in accordance with modern international regulatory documents. It is disassembled that they are one-component reactive hot-melt sealants. Their main advantages and disadvantages are listed. It is noted that the development of the industry of sealing materials is likely to move towards the development of moisture-curing compositions based on silane-modified polymers. This assumption is supported by a fairly detailed classification of silane-modified polymers in the FEICA classification guide for sealants and adhesives.

Porous silicon is currently one of the most studied materials which is used both in the areas traditional for silicon, such as electronics and optoelectronics, and in completely unconventional ones, such as catalysis, energetics, biology, and medicine. The multiple possibilities of the material are revealed due to the fact that its structure can be radically different depending on the properties of the initial silicon and the methods of obtaining porous phases. The use of any material inevitably leads to the need to classify its various forms. The purpose of the article was to find the most significant parameter that can be used as the basis for the classification of porous silicon.Historically, the terminology defined by the IUPAC pore size classification has been used to classify porous silicon. Due to the authority of IUPAC, many researchers have considered this terminology to be the most successful and important, and the radial pore size has often been regarded as a main parameter containing the most important properties of porous silicon. Meanwhile, the unique properties and practical application of porous silicon are based on its developed inner surface. The method of nitrogen porosimetry, which is simple in its practical implementation, is often used in scientific literature to determine this value. The most suitable integral parameter for the classification of porous silicon, regardless of its structure and morphology, is the total specific internal surface (cm-1) that can be relatively easily established experimentally and is of fundamental importance for almost all applications of porous silicon. The use of this value does not exclude the use of other parameters for a more detailed classification

This article highlights the problems associated with the peculiarity of the classifi cation of food flavorings in accordance with the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union. As it is known, food flavorings are now becoming increasingly important: they are massively added to almost all food products on the modern food market to improve the properties of these products: to add, change or enhance taste (aroma). In this regard, there is a need to unify regulatory documents for their classification, which directly affects the determination of the reliable code of the EAEU Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity and the corresponding customs duty rate.

The article introduces into scientific circulation the text of Diodore of Tarsus Commentary on the Psalms. The explanation of the first four psalms was translated into Russian from ancient Greek for the first time and is accompanied by scientific commentary. The preface to the translation contains brief information about the author and his work: Diodore of Tarsus is considered a prominent and important theologian of the Antiochian school, however, almost all of his works have been lost. The exclusiveness of the Commentary on the Psalms is that it is one of the earliest examples of the typically Antiochian way of exegesis. Even though authoritative manuscripts that contain the Commentary are not signed with the name of the Tarsian bishop, researchers argue that this text belongs to him. The preface also provides information on Diodore’s style, the advantages and disadvantages of his approach. The bishop of Tarsus suggested a classification of the psalms, and the exegesis of the first four psalms allows us to see by example the peculiarities of each of the types proposed by the bishop. The Commentary on the Psalms by Diodore of Tarsus provides modern scholars the opportunity to analyze this important material on the subject of the state of biblical exegesis in the second half of the 4th century.

The dynamic development of urbanization contributes to an increase in emissions of industrial waste, which is the cause dysfunction of the ecosystem balance and leads to the development of biological corrosion on building materials associated with the products of the vital activity of microorganisms. In this regard, it is necessary to assess the resistance of composites to predict the durability of building structures under conditions of biological influence of microorganisms. Binder systems of various compositions were studied: cementless nanostructured binders (NB) based on quartz sand and granodiorite, gypsum, Portland cement and alumina cement. The toxicity of binders was assessed by biotesting on living organisms – cladocerans Daphnia Magna – according to the criteria of the intensity of their growth and viability. As a result, the high environmental safety of NB is substantiated, and the ranking of the studied binders according to the degree of increase in their toxicity to test objects is presented. Fungal resistance was assessed by the ability of molds for growing and reproduction on the studied samples. It was found that the most active in terms of the development of binders were representatives of the genus Aspergillus, the intensity of growing of which in all variants did not decrease below 3 points. Gypsum and NB were especially vulnerable, where the degree of fouling repeatedly reached 5 points. Even the initially biostable cement, after the aging process, lost its stability at different extent. The obtained results indicate the need to increase the resistance of composites for various purposes under conditions of biocorrosion at the stage of design and updating of regulatory documents, including tests for fungal resistance in the list of mandatory.

The article presents a comparative analysis of fortification art monuments in such East countries from Ancient Egypt to medieval China. An attempt is made to identify the main stages of the fortification development from a stand-alone fortress (citadel, fort) to the most complex systems of urban and border fortifications, including moats, walls and gates, battle towers. It is shown that the nature of these architectural structures is determined by the status of the city or settlement, its natural landscape, building structures and materials, the development of military and engineering art. The materials from poliorceticon (Greek: poliorketikon, poliorketika), illustrate the main types of siege machines and mechanisms. The advantages and disadvantages of boundary shafts and long walls (limes). The most striking examples are the defensive systems of Assyria, New Babylon, Judea and Ancient China.

AbstractThe selection and manipulation of objects in Virtual Reality face application developers with a substantial challenge as they need to ensure a seamless interaction in three-dimensional space. Assessing the advantages and disadvantages of selection and manipulation techniques in specific scenarios and regarding usability and user experience is a mandatory task to find suitable forms of interaction. In this article, we take a look at the most common issues arising in the interaction with objects in VR. We present a taxonomy allowing the classification of techniques regarding multiple dimensions. The issues are then associated with these dimensions. Furthermore, we analyze the results of a study comparing multiple selection techniques and present a tool allowing developers of VR applications to search for appropriate selection and manipulation techniques and to get scenario dependent suggestions based on the data of the executed study.

The benefits of early detection and classification of epileptic seizures in analysis, monitoring and diagnosis for the realization and actualization of computer-aided devices and recent internet of medical things (IoMT) devices can never be overemphasized. The success of these applications largely depends on the accuracy of the detection and classification techniques employed. Several methods have been investigated, proposed and developed over the years. This paper investigates various seizure detection algorithms and classifications in the last decade, including conventional techniques and recent deep learning algorithms. It also discusses epileptiform detection as one of the steps towards advanced diagnoses of disorders of consciousness (DOCs) and their understanding. A performance comparison was carried out on the different algorithms investigated, and their advantages and disadvantages were explored. From our survey, much attention has recently been paid to exploring the efficacy of deep learning algorithms in seizure detection and classification, which are employed in other areas such as image processing and classification. Hybrid deep learning has also been explored, with CNN-RNN being the most popular.
