A multicenter, web-based Thyroid Cancer and Tumor Collaborative Registry (TCCR, http://tccr.unmc.edu ) allows for the collection and management of various data on thyroid cancer (TC) and thyroid nodule (TN) patients. The TCCR is coupled with OpenSpecimen, an open-source biobank management system, to annotate biospecimens obtained from the TCCR subjects. The demographic, lifestyle, physical activity, dietary habits, family history, medical history, and quality of life data are provided and may be entered into the registry by subjects. Information on diagnosis, treatment, and outcome is entered by the clinical personnel. The TCCR uses advanced technical and organizational practices, such as (i) metadata-driven software architecture (design); (ii) modern standards and best practices for data sharing and interoperability (standardization); (iii) Agile methodology (project management); (iv) Software as a Service (SaaS) as a software distribution model (operation); and (v) the confederation principle as a business model (governance). This allowed us to create a secure, reliable, user-friendly, and self-sustainable system for TC and TN data collection and management that is compatible with various end-user devices and easily adaptable to a rapidly changing environment. Currently, the TCCR contains data on 2,261 subjects and data on more than 28,000 biospecimens. Data and biological samples collected by the TCCR are used in developing diagnostic, prevention, treatment, and survivorship strategies against TC.

Abstract Motivation Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry-based non-targeted metabolomics is routinely performed to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze a tremendous amount of metabolite signals in complex biological samples. However, false-positive peaks in the datasets are commonly detected as metabolite signals by using many popular software, resulting in non-reliable measurement. Results To reduce false-positive calling, we developed an interactive web tool, termed CPVA, for visualization and accurate annotation of the detected peaks in non-targeted metabolomics data. We used a chromatogram-centric strategy to unfold the characteristics of chromatographic peaks through visualization of peak morphology metrics, with additional functions to annotate adducts, isotopes and contaminants. CPVA is a free, user-friendly tool to help users to identify peak background noises and contaminants, resulting in decrease of false-positive or redundant peak calling, thereby improving the data quality of non-targeted metabolomics studies. Availability and implementation The CPVA is freely available at http://cpva.eastus.cloudapp.azure.com. Source code and installation instructions are available on GitHub: https://github.com/13479776/cpva. Supplementary information Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

Despite many advances in stroke care treatment, there is substantial room for improvement in quality of care for stroke patients. In an attempt to disseminate up-to-date quality information and evidence-based best practices of stroke care, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)and the VHA Stroke QUERI implemented an innovative web-based toolkit tailored for providers and program planners interested in improving stroke care quality. This study evaluated the VA Stroke QUERI Toolkit to determine its most useful aspects and those that require improvement. In-depth qualitative interviews (n = 48) were conducted with a geographically dispersed sample of clinicians and program planners throughout the VHA system. Findings suggest the Stroke QUERI toolkit was perceived as an effective, efficient and user-friendly site but knowledge of the toolkit continues to be initiated and shared mainly through individuals and small groups. To achieve greater impact a comprehensive set of strategies designed to encourage broader uptake is required.

. The article discusses the advantages of using geoinformation technologies when creating a mobile application for searching for services and registering a client when ordering a selected service, as well as keeping records of services rendered for an organization providing services. Currently, there are a large number of applications on the software market for solving these problems. However, due to the lack of map services in the app, not all of them are user-friendly. Although the use of map services is optional, they make the application much easier for the end user to use. A good example would be using such an application to find a place to provide services outside the company’s office. The application uses a navigator that automatically builds a route to the place of service. Another example would be the use of map services to collect information about services as well as the quality of services provided. This will further improve the search algorithms in the application, and get the current rating of services

ERP systems are integrated information systems that can be applied in both business and non-business organizations. For business organizations it covers the entire functional enterprise that includes accounting and finance, production, sales, purchasing, personnel and other functions. These functions are separated by software modules and interconnected with the integrated data center. Implementation of ERP systems does not always provide satisfaction for end-users. This paper examines the quality of information systems and service that impact on end-user satisfaction, specifically banking companies located in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Data analysis results reveal that the information systems and service quality partially affect end-users’ satisfaction with ERP systems and thus these findings, remind the designers of ERP systems to improve the quality  information systems and the availability of user friendly service.

The main objective of this study was to compare self-rated diet quality with a more comprehensive score of diet quality and to assess the ability of self-rated diet quality to predict adherence to healthy eating guidelines. This study also aimed to evaluate the influence of individual characteristics on the association between self-rated diet quality and the overall diet quality score. As part of the PRédicteurs Individuels, Sociaux et Environnementaux (PREDISE) study, 1045 participants (51% women) from the Province of Québec, Canada, self-rated their diet quality (“In general, would you say that your dietary habits are excellent, very good, good, fair, or poor?”). Three Web-based 24-h food recalls were completed, generating data for the calculation of the Canadian Healthy Eating Index (C-HEI) score, an overall diet quality indicator. Participants rated their diet quality as excellent (2.4%), very good (22.7%), good (49.5%), fair (20.3%), or poor (5.1%). C-HEI scores differed significantly between diet ratings, in the expected direction (p < 0.0001). Self-rated diet quality predicted adherence to healthy eating guidelines (i.e., C-HEI > 68) with a sensitivity of 44.5% and a specificity of 81.5% (C-statistic = 0.63). Sex significantly modified the association between self-rated diet quality and C-HEI score (p interaction = 0.0131); women had higher C-HEI scores than did men in the “good” and “fair” ratings. Self-rated diet quality can be useful in obtaining an overview of the diet quality of a population, but the results of this study suggest that such data should be used with caution given their poor ability to predict adherence to healthy eating guidelines. Individual characteristics may influence one’s ability to appropriately self-evaluate diet quality.

Water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), and salinity levels are the critical cultivation factors for freshwater aquaculture. This paper proposes a novel wireless multi-sensor system by integrating the temperature, pH, DO, and EC sensors with an ESP 32 Wi-Fi module for monitoring the water quality of freshwater aquaculture, which acquires the sensing data and salinity information directly derived from the EC level. The information of water temperature, pH, DO, EC, and salinity levels was displayed in the ThingSpeak IoT platform and was visualized in a user-friendly manner by ThingView APP. Firstly, these sensors were integrated with an ESP32 Wi-Fi platform. The observations of sensors and the estimated salinity from the EC level were then transmitted by a Wi-Fi network to an on-site Wi-Fi access point (AP). The acquired information was further transmitted to the ThingSpeak IoT and displayed in the form of a web-based monitoring system which can be directly visualized by online browsing or the ThingView APP. Through the complete processes of pre-calibration, in situ measurement, and post-calibration, the results illustrate that the proposed wireless multi-sensor IoT system has sufficient accuracy, reliable confidence, and a good tolerance for monitoring the water quality of freshwater aquaculture.
