Since December 2019, the world and Indonesia have fought a major disaster, namely the Covid-19 virus pandemic. With the rapid spread or transmission of the virus, the Indonesian government decided to impose social distancing or social restrictions that impacted the education sector. Students and lecturers cannot conduct lectures face-to-face in class or laboratory, but lectures must be conducted online. For that, we need an open-source system developed by the campus in carrying out online courses. This application was developed using cloud technology and JITSI as an open-source video-conferencing application. In this study, testing of the features that exist in video conferencing and resource usage on the server is carried out. The results of feature testing on the application run as expected with several important features used for learning such as chat, share screen, recording features that can run optimally. The result tested the system resources based on the number of participants, 31 participants with an average use of 2.1GB RAM and 78 participants with an average RAM usage of 2.8GB.

Distance learning provides a wide opportunity for learners to access postgraduate qualifications. With the establishment of such open and distance learning (ODL) institutions like open universities and e-learning programs by higher learning institutions around the world, more learners are getting into postgraduate degree programs. In the United Kingdom, for example, a group of reputable institutions have established the UKeU (UK e-Universities). This article looks at the types of programs offered (master’s and doctorate) and their characteristics in contrast to traditional on-campus study. We will look into the challenges and issues faced by distance learning postgraduate-degree providers, as well as those faced by the learners. Among the issues are accreditation and recognition, curriculum and assessment, instructional methods, factors influencing learners’ choice of postgraduate programs, and institutional support for learners. Finally, we discuss the effects of postgraduate distance learning programs in the education landscape as a whole.

Nowadays, the virtual learning environment has become an ideal tool for professional self-development and bringing courses for various learner audiences across the world. There is currently an increasing interest in researching the topic of learner dropout and low completion in distance learning, with one of the main concerns being elevated rates of occurrence. Therefore, the early prediction of learner withdrawal has become a major challenge, as well as identifying the factors, which contribute to this increasingly occurring phenomenon. In that regard, this manuscript presents a framework for withdrawal prediction model for the data from The Open University, one of the largest distance learning institutions. For that purpose, we start by pre-processing the dataset and tackling the challenge of discretization process and unbalanced data. Secondly, this paper identifies the semantical issues of raw data by introducing new behavioural indicators. Finally, we reckon on machine learning algorithms for withdrawal prediction model to understand the lack of learners' commitment at an early stage.

This paper reports the implementation of video conference as a distance learning media that enhances teachers’ productivities in teaching English in a state high school in Tasikmalaya, West Java.  To give much greater size sample, this study took two sample classes with the overall fifty-six students participated in this study by using cluster sampling technique. This study employed a qualitative research design focusing on the survey study method. A self-administration of twenty questionnaires provided to identify the distinctions perceptions between male and female students thought. A depth information appear to be as important to gain more in-depth information and continuous responses to explore the advantages and its disadvantages of video conferencing that have been undertaken by interviewing the students. The findings revealed that despite some limitation, the teaching and learning process with video conferencing was successful, then male students appear more favorably and react positively compared to female students. By having more positive responses, video conferencing proven to enhance teachers’ productivities. More significantly, students argue on its advantages and disadvantages of video conferencing that was undertaken by interview. The advantages of video conference such as video conference could connect between teachers and students wherever they are, video conference alow them to access lessons with teachers separately, video conference motivated, video conference enhances teachers’ role, responsibility, creativity, and students’ insights and learning experiences using new learning systems. Besides, video conference also has weaknesses or disadvantages when it is applied such as interactions limits, unstable internet connections, unclear sounds, video delay, and background noises. This can be noted that today learning and teaching process can benefit from using video conference as a distance learning media that teachers can used to improve their productivity, as well as substitution for teachers’ absences in the classroom, so that learning can be done, and teacher productivity maintained wherever they are. Keywords: Male and Female, Video Conference, Distance Learning Media,                     Teachers’ Productivities.

ABSTRACT Online learning can shorten learning time and of course can save costs incurred by educational institutions. The success of distance learning does not only depend on the material or content presented by the educator, but on how the material is delivered, so that students can understand the material presented by the teacher. The learning model that can be done in elementary schools during the Covid-19 pandemic is distance learning, learning which ideally has interactivity between educators and students even though it is not in the same place, with video conferencing it will help the learning process carried out, because educators will be directly involved with students. Media zoom is one of the choices of learning media in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This research will be conducted at SDN 117 Leppangeng. The objectives of this study are to determine the effectiveness of using zoom media for learning in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The approach used in this research is qualitative. Keyword: Zoom, pembelajaran, pandemic Covid-19

The book describes the activities of the consortium member institutions in the framework of the TEMPUS IV Joint Project ViCES - Video Conferencing Educational Services (144650-TEMPUS-2008-IT-JPGR). In order to provide the basis for the development of a distance learning environment based on video conferencing systems and develop a blended learning courses methodology, the TEMPUS Project VICES (2009-2012) was launched in 2009. This publication collects the conclusion of the project and it reports the main outcomes together with the approach followed by the different partners towards the achievement of the project's goal. The book includes several contributions focussed on specific topics related to videoconferencing services, namely how to enable such services in educational contexts so that, the installation and deployment of videoconferencing systems could be conceived an integral part of virtual open campuses.

This study deals with Universal Values and Muslim Democracy. This essay draws upon speeches that he gave at the New York Democ- racy Forum in December 2005 and the Assembly of the World Movement for Democracy in Istanbul in April 2006. The emergence of Muslim democracies is something significant and worthy of our attention. Yet with the clear exceptions of Indonesia and Turkey, the Muslim world today is a place where autocracies and dictatorships of various shades and degrees continue their parasitic hold on the people, gnawing away at their newfound freedoms. It concludes that the human desire to be free and to lead a dignified life is universal. So is the abhorrence of despotism and oppression. These are passions that motivate not only Muslims but people from all civilizations.
