Pakistan is a developing country and it has been showed remarkable development in many areas since its foundation in 1947. However, still some issues have not been handled properly, like poverty, corruption, load shedding, water crises etc. Apart from other issues, poverty is a big issue of the country and it can be observed more or less in every province. In this paper, we have analyzed the ground situation of district Ghotki, through surveys, which is considered last district of Sindh. We tried to find the problems of poor people of district Ghotki, observed their general life style, discussed their issues and inquired about government’s role to provide the people with basic necessities of life. In this paper, mainly qualitative method is adopted to reach to best conclusion. However, partially quantitative style could also be observed, especially where concepts of Microfinance are discussed. We realized that around 40% people of the district need microfinance services and they are ready to welcome Islamic Microfinance banks, because people don’t want to opt interest based conventional microfinance services, and secondly, conventional microfinance banks don’t have capacity to cover vast area of the district.

Purpose Though microfinance has been working for many years as a tool to eradicate poverty from its root, most of the least developed and developing countries are yet to significantly alleviate it from the society. The purpose of this paper is to focus on Shariah-based microfinance products in the context of sustainable poverty alleviation approach and provide them financial benefits to enhance their livelihoods. Design/methodology/approach Here, this qualitative study critically analyzes the basics of the sustainable Islamic microfinance to exterminate the level of poverty. Findings Islamic microfinance is a more ethical practice than the traditional motives of profit maximization, and it encourages extending the time of repayment if the debtors are in hardship. In some case, it suggests to give charity if the creditor has capability. Research limitations/implications Most importantly, research scholars and experts have already criticized the concept of conventional microfinance on the basis of various points, especially for its high rate of interest. Social implications Islamic microfinance is provided with a view to fulfill two tools simultaneously, i.e., social and financial inclusion. In this case, credits and Zakah can be given to the extreme poor people for satisfying basic needs. In terms of social responsibility, Islam encourages the people to be soft in case of collecting the lending money. Originality/value The study discoursed that sustainable Islamic Microfinance (IM) may be a promising future option to draw the attention of the religiously sensitive people toward the Shariah-based microfinance which can, in turn, mitigate the poverty level.

<p>Malaysia is a fast growing developing country where majority of the people are Muslim. Due to the religious bindings, Muslim prefers <em>Shariah</em> compliant Islamic credits instead of conventional interest based credits. At the same time, non-Muslims can also consider <em>Shariah</em> compliant Islamic credit because it is considered as the ethical credit. However, still many microentrepreneurs are not receiving the <em>Shariah</em> compliant Islamic microfinance products because they have negative perceptions about the credit and interest (<em>riba). </em>Therefore, this study aims to assess the demand for microfinance among the microentrepreneurs in the State of Selangor, Malaysia and thus, determine the potential market size. Data of the study were collected based on a questionnaire survey from 550 microentrepreneurs from the urban areas of Selangor. It was found that only 12.2 per cent of them received microfinance from various microfinance institutions and banks. However, the study found that still there is potential for microfinance borrowing with around 55,000-128,000 microenterprises in Selangor, Malaysia. Therefore, Islamic microfinance institutions should try to expand their market size by promoting these potential microfinance borrowers among the existing microentrepreneurs.</p>

This article is a critical review of the impact of tourism that causes the commodification of local culture. Through a study in the Sinden Village in Jimbe Village, as the pioneer of the development of the Sinden art in Blitar District that has been established as pioneering village by the Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport Services (DISPARBUDPORA) of Blitar Regency, this article attempts to discuss the cultural commodification of Sinden art as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This article uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Therefore, the data in this article was obtained by the researcher by using the interview techniques and direct observation. The findings show that the commodification of the Sinden culture does not completely change the authenticity of the Sinden culture. It is because the people of Jimbe village only commodify the supporting facilities of the Sinden culture, such as songs, the use of musical instruments, and wardrobes. Whereas, the authenticity of the Sinden culture itself is not determined by those, but rather from the delivery of messages and special singing techniques.

In accordance with BPS data mentioning that the total of poor people in Indonesia in September 2014 had reached 27.73 (10.96%), this total was still quite big eventhough it had been decreasing from time to time eversince. It explains that there are still many people leaving under poverty limitation. The main reason is that they do not have any sufficient financial capital to do their business since most of poor people are UMKM (Small and Middle Business class) people. Therefore BMT (Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil) has appeared to help grass-root people obviously as BMT roles has been able to increase their productivity accordingly. Relating to the total of poor people which had been reducing since 2009 up to September 2014 except in September 2013 it had increased due to the increasing price of the fundamental goods needed by the people refers to the increasing price of BBM (fuel) in June 2013. As a matter of fact, it is getting along with the increasing of BMT Institutions in Indonesia so that the existency of BMT has been the most important roles in elimination of the poverty in Indonesia.

The covid-19 pandemic outbreak has globally affected various aspects of life, including teaching and learning processes. This paper aims to identify the changes in French language examinations conducted in Indonesia during the outbreak and explore the French language testing conditions, such as the worldwide standardized exams in the French language like DELF: Diploma in the French Language and DALF: Advanced Diploma in the French language. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method by collecting the data through observations, interviews with the French Language Institution and the parties involved in teaching and learning processes, and finally, through documentation. The online version of this test is inexistent. Therefore, the results should allow DELF/DALF examination providers to think about an alternative for an online examination. As shown by the findings on the IFI Indonesia website, it can be concluded that: (1) some examinations, including the French language tests, have been cancelled, (2) the number of test-takers has reduced, (3) the people who are in charge of language testing have made efforts to redress this issue to adapt to this situation.

Welfare is the main goal that must be achieved in a government system. The government is also said to be successful if there is equitable welfare and is felt by the people under its government. To achieve this goal, of course, the government cannot walk alone. There needs to be a synergy from all parties so that there must be involvement of all parts involved in a government system, one of which is the church. The church is not just a religious institution that carries out a service program for church members. Rather, more than that, the church must take real action in realizing prosperity for all levels of society, both inside and outside the church. Therefore, the church and the government need to work together to become a driving force for the creation of prosperity that is coveted by all people. This study uses a qualitative method with data analysis of the GBI Torsina Case Study in the Olafuliha'a area, Pantai Baru, Rote Ndao. The implementation in this case study departs from understanding the background of Paul's letter to the Romans in Romans 13:1-7. The results showed that GBI Torsina built good relations with the government in the context of the welfare of the wider community in the Olafuliha'a area, Pantai Baru, Rote Ndao. Cooperation is carried out in the form of policies that are harmonized together for the benefit of the wider community.
