Ayurveda is considered one of the ancient systems of knowledge in India. Various compendiums of Ayurveda i.e., Charaka, Sushruta, or Vagbhatta have enumerated an education system based on Gurukuls i.e., An Educator and their pupils. It is evident from them that a very systematized and organized form of medical education starting from selection to induction and then to well effective teaching and training were given during that ancient era. The triad of education viz. Adhyayan (studying), Adhyapan (teaching) and Sambhasha (an argument based on logic) is key to knowledge and learning process as per Charaka. The selection of students and the teachers were based on some set of fixed criteria’s which were necessary to be fulfilled. Induction was done prior to admission and proper disci- plinary, ethical rules were practised. For the development of knowledge and skills in branches of Ayurveda, prob- lems-based case discussion, identification, causes, treatment of diseases, their principles were taught. Yogya (a set of dummy objects) was used to practice prior to final surgery. Keywords: Education, Ayurveda, Induction, guru shishya etc.

ABSTRACT As technology continues evolving, ultrasonography has become increasingly the imaging modality of choice in many different clinical settings including hospital, clinic and point of care. Similarly, the expansion of internet has revolutionized the medical curriculum and training of the entire medical education continuum: undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education and continuing medical education. More importantly, technology and internet have transformed the traditional teacher-dependent classroom-based teaching into the learneroriented web-based learning. To empower the presentation, whether classroom-based or web-based, it's essential that faculty members apply principles of adult learning throughout the session. Newer version of PowerPoint (PPT) is powerful and user-friendly. However, faculty members should be familiar with fundamental guidelines for appropriate selection of fonts, character sizes, background colors, charts, graphs, animation and multimedia. In general, PowerPoint presentations prepared on Windowsbased computers can be run on Mac computers; however, presenters should be aware of compatibility issues across platform such as fonts or multimedia formats. Faculty can also easily turn the PowerPoint presentation into a powerful and interactive teaching tool of ultrasonography for unlimited number of learners by following simple guidelines of using PowerPoint and having minimum resources and technical support for software of voice over presentation, such as Camtasia or Captivate. The Aristotelian triptych—tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, and tell them what you told them—offers an excellent organizational framework for successful teaching. Two essentialities for learners interspersed with the Aristotelian triptych are—why listen (i.e., what’s in it for me?) and so what now (i.e., what’s its use to me?). In combination, an effective teaching and learning process requires five sequential steps. First, teachers preview how the course’s disciplinary content is organized. Second, teachers communicate information clearly and specifically to convince students how and why listening will personally benefit them. Third, teachers lead interactive classes utilizing a variety of instructional approaches interspersed with engaging learning activities. Fourth, through learning assessments, teachers reinforce learning. Fifth, students use new knowledge and skills learned.

The thoughts of the philosopher Paul Karl Feyerabend brought important contributions to the debate on Science in the 20th century. Most recently his views about non-existence of a single method for doing science have been employed to rethink science education and propose the use of multiple methods for effective teaching-learning process. This article employs the theoretical framework of the author expressed in the book Against Method, 1977, about the epistemological anarchism and the methodological pluralism and uses it in the contemporary discussion of medical education.
