Purpose:- This study is aimed at analyzing the environment conduciveness for Islamic Banking & Finance in the rural region of Sindh. A case study is being conducted to analyze such a situation through observations from respondents of Tando Allahyar Taluka, Sindh. Methodology/sample:- This pure and qualitative study called for primary data, collected through a structured questionnaire, from the residents of Tando Allahyar Taluka of Sindh. The observations converted into a discrete data set and analyzed statistically on descriptive statistics and sample T-Testing for measuring the significance of sample. Findings:-The outcome of the study remained as per expectations that lack of awareness and prevalence of Ambivalence are found prominent in case of Islamic Banking and Finance. Which provides an insight for the environment is conducive for banking, rather than Islamic banking & finance. It was also observed that the majority of the earning population is using Banking services, but rarely are using finances, just because of the interest factor. Practical implications:- Islamic mode of banking & finance can play a vital role in bridging the gap of conventional banking & finance and derive the need of religion-centered people towards such banking & finance circle, so that it can further the business cycle of the economy and enhance profitability. Research limitations:- The results of the study are restricted to the educated part of rural population and cannot be inferred for all population. The result of the study is also restricted to the urbanized area of rural Sindh.

Information technology has revolutionalised the banking industry with enormous benefits. However, there have been mixed perceptions on preferring online banking to traditional banking. These perceptions usually change over time because of deliberate efforts done by stakeholders. This study aimed to determine the opinions of customers on the reasons for using online banking services. In conducting this research, the study opted to use a case study research design. The study employed 60 CRDB Bank customers as its sample size. The study collected its data through primary data, by using a semi-structured questionnaire that allowed the collection of quantitative and qualitative data. The researcher employed content analysis through descriptions for qualitative data and simple descriptive statistics analysis through frequencies and percentages for quantitative data. The study found that most respondents (customers) use online banking because it saves time, offers instant feedback, is reliable, and is secure and convenient. The study recommends more awareness and understanding of online banking services to users to enjoy the enormous benefits of online banking services. Furthermore, customer support must be improved and ensure keeping promises related to solving customers' problems. The study recommends categorically further research on the contribution of mobile money to the reduction of income poverty

Islamic banking by its principle is expected to play a dominant role compared to other funding providers to finance micro enterprises, which are the real industrial sector. This study aims to explain the perceptions of micro business actors based on their experience in accessing Islamic financing. This is a descriptive quantitative research that relies on the sample selected using purposive random sampling to obtain respondents who meet the criteria that support the research objectives. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire to owners and managers of micro-businesses in the Semarang and surrounding areas. A total of 184 data were obtained and processed with the help of statistical tools that is SPSS 22.0. Therefore, it is concluded that access to Islamic financing in terms of product, requirements, and services variables was quite good based on micro business actors’ view. Marketing is a critical business domain and is an essential instrument for attaining a competitive advantage in services. It is also considered a potent tool for attracting, holding, and satisfying customers for the organization offering services. In India, the banking industry has been experiencing ups and downs for a long. In order to solve these problems and manage the challenges, the banks need to evolve and implement effective marketing strategies based on a customer-centric approach. This study focuses on one of the essential elements of service marketing, i.e., Process: Process used in banking services, customers' perception towards this process, and suggestive measures to improve the banking services' process to their customers. The study is based on primary data gathered with the help of a survey method. The survey has been conducted with the help of a structured questionnaire. In order to obtain opinions and views of customers, a sample of 100 customers of different banks has been taken. With different statistical tools such as the weighted average method and ranking, the paper concludes that most of the banks' customers are moderately satisfied with the service delivery process.

The present study is focusing on the professional stress on organisation among the Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of Indian Military Intelligence. 384 samples of Military Intelligence personnel will be taken for this study. Sources of data is Primary data include a structured questionnaire. Data was collected through structured questionnaire and measure through Likert’s scale, using KMO measure of sampling adequacy, Cronbach’s alpha for checking internal consistency, Bartlett sphericity test for testing the null hypothesis and various factor analysis including Eigenvalues, Extract square Sum loading, variance percent and Accumulation percent values relative comparison and Correlation matrix will be used as tools to arrive at desired results and statistical interpretations. The hypotheses put for test and the resultant values at 0.01 and 0.05 (for different factors) clearly indicated that there is an existence of association between different level of cadres and professional stress among personnel of Indian Military Intelligence. The authority who can formulate the rules and regulations and binding them on the lower cadres and professions to accept and adopt.

Purpose This study aims to find important factors of Malaysian Islamic banking customers’ loyalty or continuance intention to use Islamic mobile banking services. Design/methodology/approach The primary data are collected from the survey administered to 250 customers in the Klang Valley and the analysis is conducted using partial least squares (PLS). Findings Based on the findings, continuance intention of using Islamic mobile banking services was found to be depended on the usability of mobile banking services, customer service provided by Islamic banks towards mobile banking services, customer satisfaction on mobile banking services and trust of customers towards mobile banking services. In addition, the mediating effect of Islamic mobile banking services continuance adoption is significantly influenced by customer satisfaction and trust. Research limitations/implications The sample size and area of study become the obvious limitations, and interpretation of the results and conclusion cannot be as generalised. In addition, as the respondents of this study are existing customers who have used Islamic mobile banking services at least once, relying on the perception of one key informant might imply cognitive biases. Besides, the use of current factors might limit the ability to explore other potentially important determinants of the customers’ continuance intention in using Islamic mobile banking services. Practical implications By understanding these continuance intention factors amongst the customers, it would help the industry player particularly Islamic banking to plan and strategise appropriate policies and support necessary programmes on diversifying and promoting financial transaction using mobile banking services amongst their existing and potential customers. Originality/value This paper offers an additional literature on Islamic mobile banking, especially from the Malaysian context. There is a lack of study that focuses on loyalty towards Islamic mobile banking services. The paper is considered to be the first attempt to examine the factors that influence Malaysian Islamic banking customers’ loyalty or continuance intention to use Islamic mobile banking services.

This study investigates the influence of faith, social influence, regulation, and bank functions on the intention to use Islamic banking. The study used quantitative method and the data was collected using a structured questionnaire. The sample consisted of 200 customers of one of the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia: Bank Mandiri Syariah, which is located in Jayapura, the capital city of Papua Province. The data were obtained by random sampling using through a face-to-face survey. The internal consistency reliability and validity test indicated that all scale items were proven reliable and valid. The multiple regression linear was used to analyze the influence of independent variables toward dependent variables. This study suggested that faith significantly affected the customers intention to use Islamic banking. Meanwhile, social influence, regulation, and bank functions did not show a significant influence on customers’ intention to use Islamic banking.Key words : Islamic Banking; Faith; Social Influence; Regulation; Bank Function

The presence of Islamic banking in Indonesia is one form of progress and development of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia. However, for more than 20 years, Islamic banking has apparently not been able to grow optimally and experienced a slowdown in its growth. Islamic banks need to increase their market share and also need to identify which attributes are most considered by the potential customers, especially the millennials whose number is large. This study aims to find out which attributes are most considered in using Islamic banking services. This study uses primary data by distributing online questionnaires to 180 university students in Bandung, namely Unpad, ITB and UPI students. To analyze the data, Rasch analysis was used. The results of Rasch analysis show that cleanliness, friendliness, and Islamic principles turned out to be the most considered attributes in selecting Islamic banking in Indonesia. Given that these three attributes are the most considered, it is expected that Islamic banking strengthen these three aspects in order to increase the market of Islamic finance industry markets.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine aspects of the contemporary relevance of the Michelin Guide as efforts are made to extend its reach in Asia. The focus is on recent endeavours by the producers of the restaurant guide to represent local conditions by acknowledging the importance of street food and hawkers. Design/methodology/approach The methodology is that of a case study based on analysis of published material about the inaugural Singapore Michelin Guide and its consequences. Findings The Michelin Guide confronts challenges in retaining its authority and establishing itself in new Asian locations. The Singapore edition indicates attempts at responsiveness to distinctive circumstances through the recognition of street food and hawkers, but questions can be raised about the appropriateness of their inclusion and rating. Research limitations/implications Despite the absence of primary data, important topics about food and dining landscapes and modes of restaurant reviewing and grading are explored. A research agenda for the future is also proposed. Practical implications Attention is given to the impacts of the guide for individual enterprises, suggesting positive and negative outcomes of endorsement. Social implications Findings enhance understanding of the place of food and dining within societies and the influence of restaurant guides. Originality/value The paper offers an Asian perspective on and fresh insights into the role of local food cultures as well as the meanings and functions of the Michelin Guide.

Purpose With fierce competition in capturing tourists, it is crucial that destinations be prepared to adapt and to refresh their event portfolio. The purpose of this paper is to look into the decision-making process that led to the development of a new festival in a middle-sized city, Tomar, in Portugal. Design/methodology/approach This study analyses the creation process of the Knights Templar Festival, in Tomar, a new event focusing on the Templar history of the city. A retrospective outlook on the evolution of the event is given. Primary data were collected via quantitative survey analysis and semi-structured interviews. The theoretical scope is events and placemaking. Findings The strengths and weaknesses of the region influenced the conception and setting up of this particular event. This awareness is important for cities in meeting the challenges and opportunities that event portfolio diversification calls for. Research limitations/implications This paper helps us to understand the motives and challenges in establishing a new event in the city, through the analysis of a single case study of a European middle-sized city. Simultaneously, it is a longitudinal in-depth case of the first editions of a new historically focused event. Practical implications Several practical implications can be derived to the case of Tomar. Overall, it is key that cities align the focus of new events with the city’s identity (as Tomar did). Originality/value This paper presents an in-depth and longitudinal case study, from the moment of the creation of a new event to its fourth edition, mapping the decision-making process, highlighting the learning curve of the decision makers.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide statistical and empirical evidence on the motivations, income determinants and livelihood vulnerabilities of female teenage head porters. The paper draws from the motivational theory and the livelihood vulnerability approach to assess the motivations, livelihood vulnerabilities and income determinants of female teenage head porters in Kasoa, Ghana. Design/methodology/approach The mixed methods data collection instruments were used to collect primary data from 200 randomly sampled female teenage head porters in Kasoa. It includes both close and open-ended questionnaires, one case study and personal observation. Findings Based on the estimation, the study found that household poverty, unemployment, desire for regular income and quest for personal independence were significant motivational factors drawing teenage girls into head porting. Also, age of respondents and years of experience in the occupation were the significant determinants of income of respondents. Exposure to frequent malaria, stress and physical pains were common livelihood risk factors faced by the respondents. Majority of them were from the northern region of Ghana and less than 20 percent of them had formal education. Practical implications The paper proposed for extensive implementation of robust macroeconomic and specific social protection interventions to enhance equal job and income opportunities as well as to protect the vulnerable. Originality/value The study provides statistical and empirical results different from other related studies (Opare, 2003; Awumbila, 2007; Baah-Ennumh et al., 2012; Akanle and Chioma, 2013).
