Title: Improving Quality of Space with Intervention of The Installation of Used Materials in Architecture Student’s Residence, in Basic Design Studio 02 Duta Wacana Christian University   This research talks about the basic application of architectural design science with limited materials (response to the COVID-19 pandemic disaster). In this case, students are trained to see opportunities (looking for, identifying, processing, and using) used goods as design materials that can increase architectural usability. The Basic Design Studio (SPD) course builds basic skills of traditional craftsmanship, taste sensitivity, and insightful conceptual ideas. The estuary of the SPD course is to create a space installation to intervene in public spaces (physically) in people's lives with the special purpose of giving positive injections or stimulants to negative (dead) spaces so that they have attractiveness and at the same time can have a positive impact on the environment and society. The method of this research is deductive-qualitative, bringing the theory to see the case of how the intervention of negative space (dead) by SPD 02 students with the spatial installation design of used materials has an impact on people's lives. he relocation of trading places always has an impact that is sometimes very positive, but it is not uncommon to also often occur that the relocation of trading places sometimes has a negative impact. There are many examples of relocation that have a positive impact on Yogyakarta, such as the Animal Market Relocation from Ngasem Market and Kuncen Market to the Animal and Plant Markets in Yogyakarta (PASTY), the results are relatively good and positive. Then another successful example is the relocation of the Klithikan market (used goods) from the entire Mangkubumi road to the new location in the former Kuncen Market. But there are also those who relocate to a new place the impact is just the opposite. One of the less successful relocations is the relocation of eel traders from this Godean Market. To the Culinary Center of Godean eel. The results of this study found several factors that led to the lack of success of relocation at the Godean Eel Culinary Center. Some of the indicators used in this study are in terms of decreasing the level of visits and the decreasing number of eel traders occupying the relocation site.

The problems faced include that management ware still limited to receiving from customers, then collected and handed over to collectors. The customer was not always doing the sorting process, so the managers have to sort and even have to clean it first. In addition, the level of community awareness to manage waste is still lacking. The purpose of community service was to provide additional skills to members of the waste bank to convert used goods that were originally only sorted and sold, converted into products that have use value and sale value. Community service activities were carried out by organizing training and assistance in making coffee sachet bags using waste paper and coffee sachets (plastic) directly to the community. This training was carried out in 2 stages, namely on September 20 for stage 1 and October 10, 2020 for stage 2. The results of the implementation of community service were increased knowledge about the use of paper and plastic waste, the ability to make new products in the form of coffee sachet bags with attractive motifs that have value. added. A positive impact can be seen from the increased knowledge and understanding of waste bank members in the use of paper and plastic waste into useful and economic goods.
