The subject of the study is the interpretation of the folklore image of an outstanding Cossack character in the historical novel at the turn of the XX–XXI centuries. The appeal of this genre at the present stage to fictional sources and techniques, including myth, parables, fairy tales, fiction, games, compilations, violations of space-time linearity, etc., is a problematic field of wider research. The aim of the article is to determine functioning peculiarities of outstanding Cossack’s image in the artistic world of novel “Chase” by Y. Mushketyk. Results of the Study allowed to claim that in his novel “Chase” (1997) Y. Mushketyk modelled history in accordance to the modern tradition. The artist took the historical era of the Ruins as the basis of his story and led further narration on the principle of road, no wonder that at first sight the novel can be taken as an adventure novel. Pointing out the heredity of generations of outstanding Cossacks, the author prepares readers for perception of the hero, whose unusual abilities he reveals diversely throughout the work. Depicting a colorful portrait of Cossack Semen Belokobylka like a chimerical appearance of Cossack Mamai, Y. Mushketyk gives the novel “Chase” signs of a chimerical genre. According to the genre of road novel Y. Mushketyk reveals unusual abilities of the Cossack in lots of episodes of his journey. With the help of first person singular narration (“I-narration”), the artist transfers his feelings and emotions in extremely difficult conditions. Y. Mushketik gives the Cossack a good sense of humor as a part of his lifestyle. Liveliness gives the Cossack the power to continue the journey and complete the mission to rescue his brethren. In the reflections of outstanding Cossack, the author expresses the idea of the unity of Ukraine and Ukrainians, touches the problem of sense of living, giving the novel features of philosophical genre, significance and relevance of the present. The practical significance of the research results is the ability to form a model for the transformation of the folklore image into a literary one, extending the material of the study to other works of this genre and period.

The article examines the change in family values in Belarus as reflected in the materials of the magazine «Rabotnica i sjaljanka» from the 1960s to the 2010s. Based on the analysis of the thematic distribution of publications, the characteristics of the heroines, the female duties declared by the magazine and the presentation of the topic of marriage and family at the level of rhetoric, the following conclusions are drawn. In reflecting the materials of the magazine after the 1990s, the role of family and marriage is increasing, the professional roles and responsibilities of a woman are supplemented by the need to show skill in everyday life, to maintain beauty and attractiveness, which corresponds to the tendencies of traditionalisation of values according to survey data. At the same time, the increase in divorce rates and a decrease in the number of children in the family are normalised.

Purpose. The purpose of the study is ways to protect the interests of family law and the need to formulate scientifically sound recommendations for improving the current legislation of Ukraine in the field of family law interests. Methodology. The technical and legal method was used in the study of ways to protect interests in family law. Scientific novelty is that the article states that the list of ways to protect family interests should go beyond the Family Code, be open, which determines the possibility of their protection in other ways not prohibited by law. The article also proves that in determining the child's place of residence, the main issue is to decide what is best for the interests of the child, and not the presumption in favor of the mother. It is argued that the essence of the principle of the best interests of the child is manifested in the priority consideration of the interests of the child in the parents, legal representatives of the child, authorities, courts and other persons to meet any of its needs (depending on age, health, gender and specifics of child development). The author proves that the principle of the best interests of the child includes the principle of the welfare of the child, and this eliminates the need to distinguish them as separate legal categories. Results. The article analyzes the problems of using methods of protection of family law interests. The author proves that the interest in family law is protected in the same ways as subjective family law. Practical significance. The results of the study can be used in lawmaking to improve legislation in the field of legal regulation of the category of interest; in the educational process - in the development of textbooks, teaching materials on the subject "Family Law of Ukraine".

The study is aimed at studying the regulatory features of the mental image of an adopted child in parents with different forms of custody of orphans. In connection with the preparation of the bill on the support of foster families and the mandatory psychological testing of foster parents, empirical research in this area has received particular relevance and significance. The sample consisted of: 1. social educators — adoptive parents who perform their functions on the basis of an employment contract on a fee and raise a different number of orphans; 2. Blood guardians — adoptive parents having kinship with pupils left without parents. A total of N = 110 people were examined. To identify the peculiarities of the image of the adopted child, a verbal version of the SOCH (I) technique was used (V. L. Sitnikova). The following results were obtained: 1. In foster parents, in the hierarchy of image components, the leading place belongs to the qualities of the child, revealing its features as the subject of social interaction — the “Social” component. It was also established that for large adoptive parents, the behavior of the child and its characteristics as a subject of activity are important, occupying the lower hierarchical positions in the form of ordinary parents. We explain this structural feature of the child’s image in the mentality of parents with many children by the presence of many problems that arise in the dyad “adopted child — adopted adult”. 2. It has been established that the blood guardians in the image structure of the adopted child do not have the component “family values”, which is an alarming fact. As you know, it is the values of the family that perform the regulatory function and form the unity of a small group that unites the concept of “we”. 3. When comparing images of a “good-bad” child, an important feature of the mentality of large social educators was revealed — the images of a “good-bad” child turned out to be weakly differentiated in their structure, which in the context of previously obtained empirical data can be interpreted as weak emotional and personal involvement in the process of education, as well as the presence of psychological distance in relations with foster children.

The article deals with the evolution of spiritual and moral values, the spread of the principles of humanism. The results of sociological monitoring of the interaction of society and its citizens, the socio-cultural communities and its features. Despite a number of processes described in the article, spiritual and moral values have not lost their original meaning and significance. Moreover, they have become a priority: in the context of human dignity, the realization of human rights; education of the family with the implementation of family values; ethics. The education system, including legal education, the family and society, contributes greatly to the education of morality. Otherwise, irreversible processes may occur – “fooling” (especially young people), the degradation of mass and individual consciousness, the split of society, which can undermine Russia from within. To find ways to overcome the negative trends, research on this topic continues. Being an integral part of public culture, spiritual values are at the same time an internal catalyst for a significant unification and strengthening of the actions of progressive forces, a vector of ongoing and future transformations in a globalized digital society.

This article, which is built on media discourse analysis, provides an insight into how public opinion on the work of courts has developed into a discourse of disapproval. The discourse of time is often used to evaluate the work of courts and tends to meet with disapproval when related to sentencing and when the Family Court fails to deliver equal parental access to children. The Family Court is also the subject of discourses of fear within the media, with stories often focusing on child abuse and horror stories of neglect designed to attract and recruit an audience to media outlets. In addition, the discourses facing the Family Court are now firmly tied to time as a major aspect of decision-making. Because of this contested view, child protection may be reduced to a secondary perspective. This paper recommends a change to discourses surrounding courts by all parties in order to facilitate better understanding.
