It was explained that this research uses a quasi-experimental approach, in this research there is a treatment. This research used an experimental design, the result of the homogeneity test obtained the fcount of 1.77 compared to the dk-numerator f table 32 &dk-deniminsator 32 and the sig level . 5 % of the table price wich is 1.80. Because fcount <table , can be concluded that the experimental class and control class are proven to be homogeneous. He explained that the experimental class and proved to be normally distributed. It is concluded that the experimental class is as fcount According to the research result, it is proven that there is an effect of Open-Ended on the HOTS ability of Building Room V material at SDN Keboananom,Sidoarjo. This is evidenced by the averege value of the experimental class is higher than the control class. Abstrak Dijelaskan bahwa penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen semu, dalam penelitian ini terdapat perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental, hasil uji homogenitas diperoleh fhitung 1,77 dibandingkan dk-numerator f tabel 32 & dk-deniminsator 32 dan taraf sig. 5% dari harga meja yaitu 1.80. Karena fhitung <tabel, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol terbukti homogen. Ia menjelaskan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan terbukti berdistribusi normal. Disimpulkan bahwa kelas eksperimen adalah sebagai hitung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terbukti ada pengaruh Open-ended terhadap kemampuan HOTS materi Ruang Gedung V SDN Keboananom Sidoarjo. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) terhadap prestasi belajar dan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa. Penelitian ini meng­gunakan metode kuantitatif jenis penelitian quasi experimental design dalam penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.Tes prestasi belajar dan lembar penilaian jiwa kewirausahaan siswa adalah instrumen yang digunakan peneliti untuk mengumpulkan data. Pada masa pademi covid-19 sekolah pun dibatasi oleh karena itu sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 3 MI Plus Al-Ihsan yang berjumlah 15 orang yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelas (Kelas Eksperimen dan Kelas kontrol). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa yang diberi perlakuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) memiliki nilai rata-rata lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata siswa yang tidak diberi perlakuan. Nilai rata-rata prestasi belajar kelas eksperimen adalah 86,28 sedangkan pada kelas kontrol adalah 75. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada jiwa kewirausahaan siswa pada kelas eksperimen 16,14 sedangkan kelas kontrol 10. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis prestasi belajar nila thitung 3.982 dan hipotesis jiwa kewirausahaan siswa nilai thitung 6.081.. Maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh Higher Order Thinking Skills terhadap Prestasi Belajar Dan Jiwa Kewirausahaan siswa kelas 3 di MI Plus Al-Ihsan.

The low level of students’ higher order thinking skills (HOTS) has been the main problem of education in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the difference of students’ HOTS taught by using POE and Guided Discovery learning models. This quasi-experimental research involved 34 students of X IPA 3 and 32 students of X IPA 4 at SSHS 1 of Sungai Ambawang as the sample. The data obtained by using test which was analyzed using Mann-Whitney U-test. The results showed that the students’ HOTS who were treated with POE were significantly higher than those who were taught using Guided Discovery learning. Therefore, it is suggested to implement POE to improve students’ HOTS.

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the blended learning model to improving higher order thinking skills (HOTS) on thermodynamic material. The research method used in this study is quasi-experimental, while the research design used is Non Equivalent Design. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique, with class XI MIA 1 as an experimental class and XI MIA 2 as a control class. The instrument used in this study was an HOTS test item in the form of multiple choice questions. Data analysis techniques using SPSS software to test hypotheses, and Microsoft Excel to determine the magnitude of the increase in HOTS. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.03. Large increase in the experimental class by 0.50 (50%), and by 0.40 (40%) in the control class. This shows that learning using the blended learning model has a better effect in HOTS than learning without blended learning.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of contextual media with Arduino Uno-based media on students’ higher-order thinking skills on density material. The population of this research is class XII IPA MAN 1 Pontianak totaling six classes, with samples of class XII IPA A and class XII IPA B. This study is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest group design—sampling with a simple random technique to determine the experimental and control classes. The data collection technique used is a test in the form of pretest and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used is the one-party t-test based on the sig value and the normalized gain (N-gain). The results of research data analysis showed that contextual learning media with media based on Arduino Uno had a positive effect and improved students’ higher-order thinking skills than students who used conventional media. It is indicated by the results of the t-test with a value of sig. The post-test score is 0.001, and the results of the improvement test with the N-gain of the experimental class are in the medium category, higher than the control class category, namely low. So that learning physics using learning media based on Ardouno Uno has a positive effect and can improve students’ Higher Order Thinking skills.

This study aimed to determine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on tenth grade students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in ecosystem concept. The design of this study was quasi experimental research with "nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design". The population of this study was X grade students in Senior High School (SHS) Kandangan, South Kalimantan. The sample were chosen through random sampling technique. The sample will be tested for equivalence based on the data of from the report card from the first semester. The instrument of data collection is students' HOTS rubric that developed by Hart (1994) with a range of scores for each question ranging from 0 to 4. One way analysis of variance (anava) was used as hypothesis test in this study. The result showed that PBL learning model had a positive effect on HOTS. It can be seen from the average of HOTS level of control class was 28.40 and treatment class was 36,23 and seen from F value = 20.97 whereas F table = 0.05 means F arithmetic > F table.

The research aims to find out the influence of using interactive learning media on students’ higher order thinking skills. This research use a type of quasi experimental with a time series design form. Research objects were students from class XII IPA SMA Yapis Manokwari and numbered 19 people. Data analysis requirements show that the data are normally distributed but not homogeneous so the research data is tested using the wilcoxon test. The decision making results were based on Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) in the amount of 0,014 < α = 0,05 so that the hypothesis of H0 was rejected or Ha was accepted. This means that there is the influence of the used of interactive learning media on students’ higher order thinking skills. The result of the N-gain test calculation show that there is an effect of increasing higher order thinking skills which are at intervals g < 0,3, which is equal to 0,2 that include in low category. The acquisition of an effect size value in the amount of 0,06 which is in the interval d < 0,2 indicates that the effectiveness of interactive learning media in improving higher order thinking skills is in a small category. Students’ higher order thinking skills can be seen from the average score in completing higher order thinking cognitive tests, which amounted to 32,64 (posttest 1) in the low category, 37,58 (posttest 2) in the low category and 38,97 (posttest 3) in the low category. This value means that the use of interactive learning media has a low influence on improving students’ higher order thinking skills. This is also supported by the results of the perception questionnaire analysis which shown the P2b statement is difficult to approve with the highest logit value of +2. This means that students assume that interactive learning media is difficult to use and less flexible.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan sumber daya manusia yang memiliki kecakapan berpikir yang semakin naik. Kecakapan berpikir tersebut diperoleh melalui pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu kemampuan yang dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang juga merupakan Higher Order Thinking adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Kemampuan ini dianggap masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Cikande kelas VIII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Cikande yang berjumlah 252 siswa. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, yang kemudian terpilih dua kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diapatkan kesimpulan bahwa pencapaian akhir kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran MEAs setting koperatif lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa.   The background of this research by the needs of human resources who have the thinking skill that is increasingly going up. The thinking skills acquired through learning of mathematics. One of the skills needed in the learning of mathematics is also a higher order thinking is the ability of critical thinking. This ability is considered still belongs to low. This research aims to know the development of critical thinking ability of second grade at SMPN 1 Cikande Kabupaten Serang. The research methode used was quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group. The population is second grade at SMPN 1 Cikande totalling 252 students. The technique used is the sample of purposive sampling, which is the selected two classes as experimental and control classes. Based on the result of the analysis of data obtained by the conclusion that the ability of the critical thinking of students who get the learning mathematics of MEAs cooperative settings better than students who get reguler learning.

Higher-order thinking skills critical to being applied and developed in learning. Because the learning activity is focused on the higher-order thinking skills development, then learning activities will be more influential, effective, and efficient, so that the intellectual abilities of teachers and students become more skilled, it positively will affect the increase in the quality of education. There is a gap in students' critical thinking ability based on the pre-research survey results. The basic level of thinking is in the poor category, and self-efficacy is still lacking. This study aims to determine the extent to which the application of higher-order thinking skills learning through the problem-based learning (PBL) model improves student's critical thinking and self-efficacy. This study uses a quasi-experimental design and data collection techniques in tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets. This study's population was 123 students, sampling using a convenience sampling technique so that the sample used was 62 students. Based on the research results, there are differences. There is an increase between students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy who use the PBL model rather than the conventional model. The research result implies that the PBL model is highly recommended for economics teachers. Still, it is necessary to provide innovation in the learning model so that in the learning process, it uses one model and innovates with other models.

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effects of Project-Based Learning development in social studies to improve students’ higher-order thinking skills in the fifth grade, from Al Mursyidiyyah Islamic primary school in Kota Tangerang Selatan. The method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) and quasi-experimental method. Research and development (R&D) is used to develop Project Based Learning to improve students’ higher-order thinking skills in the fifth grade of Islamic primary school. The quasi-experimental method is used to find the difference of students' higher-order thinking skills improvement using project-based learning models in social studies against students who get learning with conventional learning models. Data collection techniques in this study used to test and observation instruments. Thus, this study finds that project-based learning in social studies improves students’ higher-order thinking skills. The novelty of this research is the development of project-based learning in social studies can improve the higher-order thinking skills of Islamic Primary School students.   AbstrakTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam pembelajaran IPS pada siswa kelas V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Mursyidiyyah Kota Tangerang Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dan metode kuasi eksperimen. Metode R&D digunakan untuk mengembangkan project based learning dalam IPS untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dan metode kuasi eksperimen digunakan untuk mengetahui perbandingan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-posttest Design dimana kelompok eksperimen maupun kelompok kontrol tidak dipilih secara random. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes dan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasisis proyek dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Novelti penelitian ini adalah pengembangan pembelajaran berbasisis proyek dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menumbuhkan minat baca siswa melalui implementasi assessment for learning berbasis higher order thinking skills (HOTS) dalam pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam (IPA). Desain penelitian menggunakan quasi experimental dengan sampel kelas VIIIC sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas VIIID sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 di SMP Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa instrumen asesmen HOTS hasil pengembangan dengan kelayakan terjamin validitas teoritis tim ahli dan validitas empiris yang melibatkan 174 siswa kelas IX SMP. Pengumpulan data penelitian memakai lembar angket instrumen skala self regulated learning (SRL) dengan fokus indikator pengukuran minat baca. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan minat baca siswa tumbuh sebesar 51,23% pada kelas eksperimen 1 dengan kategori “tinggi” dan 54,56% kelas eksperimen 2 juga berkategori “tinggi”. Pertumbuhan minat baca tertinggi pada kedua kelas eksperimen terdapat pada indikator membaca kembali buku catatan ketika akan menghadapi ulangan sebesar 60,33%, mencari jawaban dengan membaca buku di perpustakaan untuk memecahkan permasalahan tugas/PR tergolong sulit sebesar 55,01%, akan menonton acara favorit di televisi apabila tugas/PR telah selesai dikerjakan sebesar 54,00% dan 52,34% membaca buku teks pelajaran yang dimiliki. Dengan demikian implementasi assessment for learning berbasis HOTS pada pembelajaran IPA mampu menumbuhkan minat baca siswa. Implementation of assessment for learning based on higher order thinking skills in science learning to fostering student reading interest AbstractThis study aims to foster students' interest in reading through the implementation of assessment for learning based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in science learning. The study design used quasi-experimental with samples of class VIIIC as experimental class 1 and class VIIID as experimental class 2 in SMP Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung through random sampling technique. The research instrument in the form of a HOTS assessment instrument was the result of development with the assurance of the expert team's theoretical validity and empirical validity involving 174 junior high school students. The collection of research data using questionnaires on the instrument scale of self regulated learning (SRL) with a focus on measurement indicators of reading interest. Descriptive data analysis with a qualitative approach. The results of the data analysis showed that students' reading interest grew by 51,23% in the experimental class 1 with the category "high" and 54,56% in the experimental class 2 also categorized as "high". The growth of the highest reading interest in the two experimental classes was found in the indicator of rereading the notebook when it faced a replication of 60,33%, looking for answers by reading books in the library to solve difficult assignments / PR problems of 55,01%, going to watching favorite programs on television when the assignment / PR has been completed by 54,00% and 52,34% read the textbooks that are owned. Thus the implementation of HOTS-based assessment for learning in science learning is able to foster students' interest in reading.
