The possibilities and consequences of the application and penetration of information technology in different spheres of society are of particular interdisciplinary interest in today’s academic environment. The methodological basis of the study was a combination of informational, comparative, systematic and conceptual approaches. Besides that, the secondary data analysis method was employed. This article examines mediatisation as an important factor in accelerating the accumulation of big data in the digital age. With the emergence of new media and the digitalisation of modern media space, researchers have recorded a process of ‘deep mediatisation’. It is noted that, in domestic practice, the main emphasis in the study of the phenomenon of ‘Big Data’ is on its technical aspect, while socio-humanitarian characteristics and effects are revealed to a lesser extent. The article represents an attempt to consider ‘Big Data’ technology as a symbolic and authoritative resource of the information society. Mediatisation and big data are interrelated. On one hand, ‘Big Data’ technology allows for the identification and measurement of quantitative indicators of the mediatisation process (e.g. active social media audience, etc.) and facilitates the processing of the findings. Mediatisation, on the other hand, facilitates the accumulation of heterogeneous data and, as a theoretical concept, allows for the implications of big data technology to be identified and for social institutions to be adapted to it. In addition, mediatisation is changing the paradigm of the private and individual aspects in media space as a result of the growth in the volume, storage and reproduction of social information in the digital society, the lowering of the barrier of access to the media age, and the emergence of new actors of communication: micro-subjects (e.g. Influencers).

The article continues the analysis of the problem previously raised by the author, which deals with the nature of the headlines of modern new media. This article presents a pragmatic perspective on the study of headings aimed at attracting the attention of readers from the point of view of their correspondence to the postulates of communication of J. Grice. The article shows that the attention of the reader is often attracted by the violation of such cooperative principles as the postulate of quantity (maxim of quantity). The author focuses on the speed of dissemination of information under a certain heading and notes the transformation of headlines on various news sites. This makes it possible to assess the place of a news site in the media space and to determine how correctly the news resource uses the information received from another resource. The article attempts to establish a correlation between the “viral” headlines and the nature of modern culture that affects the reasons for their creation and transformation. Following the concept of media education of the English theorist of culture and media education L. Masterman, the author outlines possible ways of developing critical thinking on the basis of such headings, which are an integral part of the “new media”.

The article deals with the main tasks of modern museums and the intersection of these tasks with the activities of the mass media. Creative museum spaces are becoming part of the media space, which necessitates their new positioning and study within the framework of the scientific specialization “journalism (philological sciences)”. The authors consider the functionality of museums as a new medium of communication, identify the most successful forms of presenting information, identify criteria identical with new media for evaluating the effectiveness of museum content. The authors emphasize the importance of the “museum as a medium” concept in terms of cross-platform and digitalization.

ABSTRACTToday is some diffuse the naif notion that envision of a village where the daily is resized and is part of a global space, which thanks to technology shortens any distance and in which we all have access to everything. That village exists, true, but today is not that naïve. It has definite patterns, a kind of grid in which you enter and you are let to be guided or are expulsed like it was the most natural way. It seems that when we moved from oral tradition to writing, it will stay forever, that we would live in that Gutenberg galaxy that showed us McLuchan in form of book. The writing is and will continue to exist as a way to shape the thinking, but today is not as free as it seems. What we say is as important as the how and where, and if it is true that the medium is not the message, certainly it is part of it. The concept is the important, no matter the format, says Umberto Eco talking about the book and the controversy surrounding his possible decline in paper. Today information is transferred and according to the container can change the content. But is not only to adapt the format to an specific media, because entering into a new media space is accompanied by a change in the worldview of an event, both of who gives and the one who receives information. The complexity of language is added today to the complexity of the media world, in which a sort of butterfly effect falls on any word or several of them grouped together like a sentence.RESUMENAlgo difusa se vislumbra hoy aquella idea naïf de una aldea en la que lo cotidiano se redimensiona y forma parte de un espacio global, en el que gracias a la tecnología se acorta cualquier distancia, y en el que todos tenemos acceso a todo. Esa aldea existe, es cierto, pero hoy no es tan ingenua. Tiene patrones definidos, una especie de retícula en la que entras y estás condicionado a dejarte guiar o ejecutas como si tal cosa fuera lo más natural. Parecía que al pasar de la tradición oral a la escritura, ésta se quedaría para siempre, que viviríamos en esa galaxia Gutenberg que nos mostró McLuchan en forma de libro. La escritura sigue, y seguirá existiendo como modo de dar forma al pensamiento, pero hoy no es tan libre como parece. Lo que decimos es tan importante como el cómo y el dónde, y si bien es cierto que el medio no es el mensaje, sin duda aquél forma parte de éste. El concepto es lo importante, da igual el formato, dice Umberto Eco hablando del libro y de la polémica alrededor de su posible ocaso en papel. La información hoy se trasvasa y según el contenedor puede cambiar el contenido. Pero no se trata únicamente de adaptarse al formato de un medio específico, en general, entrar en un nuevo espacio de comunicación va acompañado de un cambio en la cosmovisión acerca de un suceso, tanto de quien da como de quien recibe información. La complejidad de lenguaje, se suma hoy a la complejidad del entorno mediático, en el que una suerte de capacidad de efecto mariposa recae sobre cualquier palabra o varias de ellas agrupadas como una sentencia.

The urgency of the researched problem is connected with the growing role of mass media in modern conditions leads to change of values and transformation of identity of the person. The active growth of the role of the media, their influence on the formation and development of personality leads to the concept of “media socialization” and immutation in the media. The aim of the study is to outline the possibilities of the process of media socialization in the context of immutation in the media. The methods of our research are: analysis of pedagogical, psychological, literature, synthesis, comparison, generalization. The article analyzes the views of domestic and foreign scientists on the problem of immutation in the media and the transformation of the information space. In the context of the mass nature of the immutation of society, the concept of “media socialization” becomes relevant, which is the basis for reducing the negative impact of the media on the individual.The author identifies the lack of a thorough study of the concept of “media socialization” in modern scientific thought. Thus, media socialization is associated with the transformation of traditional means of socialization, and is to assimilate and reproduce the social experience of mankind with the help of new media.The article analyzes the essence of the concepts “media space”, “mass media” and “immutation”. The influence of mass media on the formation and development of the modern personality is described in detail.The study concluded that it is necessary to form a media culture of the individual, to establish safe and effective interaction of young people with the modern media system, the formation of media awareness, media literacy and media competence in accordance with age and individual characteristics for successful media socialization. The role of state bodies in solving the problem of media socialization of the individual was also determined. It is determined that the process of formation of media culture in youth should take place at the level of traditional institutions of socialization of the individual.The author sees the prospect of further research in a detailed analysis and study of the potential of educational institutions as an institution and a means of counteracting the mass nature of the immutation of society.Key words: immutation, media socialization, mass media, media space, information.

In New York City in 2009, a new kind of public school opened its doors to its inaugural class of middle schoolers. Conceived by a team of game designers and progressive educational reformers and backed by prominent philanthropic foundations, it promised to reinvent the classroom for the digital age. This book documents the life of the school from its planning stages to the graduation of its first eighth-grade class. It is the account of how this “school for digital kids,” heralded as a model of tech-driven educational reform, reverted to a more conventional type of schooling with rote learning, an emphasis on discipline, and traditional hierarchies of authority. Troubling gender and racialized class divisions also emerged. The book shows how the philanthropic possibilities of new media technologies are repeatedly idealized even though actual interventions routinely fall short of the desired outcomes. It traces the complex processes by which idealistic tech-reform perennially takes root, unsettles the worlds into which it intervenes, and eventually stabilizes in ways that remake and extend many of the social predicaments reformers hope to fix. It offers a nuanced look at the roles that powerful elites, experts, the media, and the intended beneficiaries of reform—in this case, the students and their parents—play in perpetuating the cycle. The book offers a timely examination of techno-philanthropism and the yearnings and dilemmas it seeks to address, revealing what failed interventions do manage to accomplish—and for whom.

The article analyzes methods of explication of the traditional and widely used stable biblical expression «forbidden fruit». The study is based on a diachronic section – from the interpretation of the biblical text to the communicative intention of dialogue participants in the media space illustrating nuclear and peripheral meanings. The analysis includes biblical texts that realize the archetypal meaning of the biblical expression «forbidden fruit» in which it is called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The secularized interest in the kind of tree, on which forbidden fruits grew, is motivated by a realistic presentation of a sad history of the first people’s fall in the Book of Genesis. Scientific hypotheses have their origins since the Middle Ages, when artists recreated the author’s story of eating the forbidden fruit. For religion, the variety of the fruit is not of fundamental importance, however, visualization in the works of art has become an incentive for the further use of the biblical expression with a new semantic segment. Modern media texts actively represent the transformation of the biblical expression«forbidden fruit» for different purposes: in advertising texts for pragmatic one, in informative, educational, ideological texts for cognitive one, in entertaining textsfor communicative one, lowering the spiritual and semantic value register of the modern language. Therefore, the process of desemantization and profanization of the biblical expression results in the destruction of national stereotypes in Russian people’s worldview.

<p>Sebuah peristiwa, dalam kehidupan manusia, dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi penulisan sebuah cerita. Pengarang, sebagai bagian dari masyarakatnya, mengangkat relung-relung kehidupan manusia, ke dalam sebuah cerita. Namun harus dipahami, bahwa pengalaman pengarang dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari, juga mempengaruhi subjek yang ditulisnya. Saat ini tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi, bahwa teknologi komunikasi yang sangat canggih, telah mempengaruhi perkembangan karya sastra. Media penulisan karya sastra, tidak lagi melalui media cetak seperti kertas tetapi sudah melalui peralatan modern yang sesuai jamannya. Namun demikian ragam karya sastra prosa, seperti cerita pendek, justru mampu mengisi ruang media kommunikasi tersebut. Dua orang pengarang, yang menulis cerita pendek di media masa, berusaha mengangkat isu tentang lingkungan. Isu yang diangkat, lebih menekankan kepada masalah lingkungan alam dengan mengangkat isu tentang pohon sebagai bagian dari kehidupan manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini, untuk menelusuri struktur cerita pendek yang mengangkat isu lingkungan dalam jalinan ceritanya. Untuk memenuhi tujuan penelitian, langkah awal dari penelitian ini, adalah melakukan pendekatan struktur cerita, yang kemudian dikaitkan dengan pencarian makna cerita tersebut. Sering sekali di balik sebuah cerita ada pesan yang ingin disampaikan kepada masyarakat pembacanya. Bentuk pesan tersebut tersirat, dalam jalinan struktur cerita pendek tersebut. Pesan yang disampaikan, dalam kedua cerita pendek tersebut,  adalah pesan tentang lingkungan alam, yang  saat ini tidak pernah diperhatikan oleh masyarakat. Dengan alasan, kebutuhan ekonomi yang sangat dominan.</p><p><em>An event, in human life, can be an inspiration for writing a story. The author, as a part of his society, lifts the niches of human life, into a story. But it must be understood, that the author's experience in everyday life, also affects the subject he wrote.</em><em> </em><em>Today it is undeniable, that highly sophisticated communication technology, has influenced the development of literary works. Media writing literature, no longer through print media such as paper but have been through modern equipment that fit his era.</em><em> </em><em>However, the variety of prose literary works, such as short stories, is able to fill the media space communications. Two authors, who write short stories in the mass media, try to raise issues about the environment. Issues raised, more emphasis on the issue of the natural environment by raising the issue, about the tree as part of human life. The purpose of this research, is to trace the structure of short stories, which raised environmental issues in the composition of the story. To fulfill the purpose of research, the first step of this research, is to approach the structure of the story, which is then linked with the search for the meaning of the story. Very often, behind a story, there is a message to be conveyed to the readers. The form of the message is implied, in the composition of the short story structure. The message conveyed, in both short stories, is a message about the natural environment, which today is never noticed by society. The purpose of the study is to analyze the specifics of constructing the image of political parties in modern world media discourse practices. Achievement of this goal by the authors of this article determines the formulation of a number of important tasks, for the solution of which, first of all, the study of the image-making of political organizations is carried out, which is of interest to representatives of various worldview and social groups. The article examines the algorithm for constructing the image of parties and party coalitions, identifies the factors influencing their modifications. The authors determine the most effective strategies and tactics that influence the formation of a positive image during the electoral process, conduct a detailed analysis of the communication tools that generate a highly effective image of political parties using both traditional media practitioners and modern Internet agrigers. The work analyzes the main and auxiliary resources that have a multifaceted impact on the collaboration of party forces and their leaders with the media in the process of creating the given images, and broadcasting information to the target audience. As a result, a conclusion is made about the discursiveness of the image-making technologies existing in the media space, the presence of convergences and antinomies in them.

Modernist literature is inextricable from the history of obscenity. The trials of such figures as James Joyce, D. H. Lawrence, and Radclyffe Hall loom large in accounts of twentieth-century literature. Filthy Material: Modernism and the Media of Obscenity reveals the ways that debates about obscenity and literature were shaped by changes in the history of media. The emergence of film, photography, and new printing technologies shaped how “literary value” was understood, altering how obscenity was defined and which texts were considered obscene. Filthy Material rereads the history of modernist obscenity to discover the role played by technological media in debates about obscenity. The shift from the intense censorship of the early twentieth century to the effective “end of obscenity” for literature at the middle of the century was not simply a product of cultural liberalization but also of a changing media ecology. Filthy Material brings together media theory and archival research to offer a fresh account of modernist obscenity with novel readings of works of modernist literature. It sheds new light on figures at the center of modernism’s obscenity trials (such as Joyce and Lawrence), demonstrates the relevance of the discourse of obscenity to understanding figures not typically associated with obscenity debates (such as T. S. Eliot and Wyndham Lewis), and introduces new figures to our account of modernism (such as Norah James and Jack Kahane). It reveals how modernist obscenity reflected a contest over the literary in the face of new media technologies.
