Balinese people still depend on economy on tourism sector. This could become big problems because during Covid-19 pandemic, tourists are still not allowed to to visit other countries, especially Indonesia. This research used three theories, namely Michel Foucalt’s Power and Knowledge Theory, Jacques Derrida’s Deconstruction Theory, and Antonio Gramsci’s Hegemony Theory. The big swirl of the Covid-19 pandemic gave impacts to the tourism industry, agriculture, and other macro and micro sectors in Bali. Many tourism attractions experienced a decrease. This situa- tion became a tourism discourse that was very interesting to be studied. The Bali public which was very crowded with tourists has turned into a silent place. However, this pandemic would end although they are not sure when, but the people in Bali have their own way to survive. Many of them sell food and do other business. The effect of the Covid-19 pandemic closes many hotels and restaurants, work termination and finally, this leads to the people’s economy. This situation is explored deeper outside the shining tourism, that the needs of new jobs, food security, and education access are needed by the Balinese behind the pandemic problems.

The article is aimed at characterizing the theoretical bases of the research of animation services in tourism. The task is to determine the essence of tourist animation as an object of research and highlight its main types and functions. As part of the research, the following methods were used: analytical, historical, description and others. Today, the tourism industry is developing rapidly, despite a number of problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, both in the territory of Ukraine and abroad. Tourism remains an important industry, influencing the economy of countries. Therefore, for the further development of this sector, it is important to pay attention to improving the quality of services to maximize the satisfaction of the needs of tourists, especially during their leisure time. The quality factor of the level of tourist product provided under modern conditions is key for the functioning of the tourism sector. Now an important and integral part of the tourism business around the world is tourism animation. During leisure, tourists seek to satisfy a number of their own needs, namely: spiritual, physical, communication, self-realization, etc. In addition, they have the opportunity to analyze their own inner being or characterize the people who will be around at this time. The purpose of the leisure industry is to create all the necessary (safe) conditions for entertainment. The social component of animation activity is the creation and development of modern needs in tourists. In addition, an animation tourism program is directed towards forming and obtaining new useful skills for its participants. To maximize satisfaction of the requirements of vacationers, regardless of their nationality, age, economic prosperity, health status, animation programs must change in terms of content, time or activity during the tourist season. Usually, they depend on the size of the hotel, its geographical location, focus, specifics, etc. It is noted that today the domestic tourist market needs animation specialists. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the level of their training, personal skills that will contribute to the implementation of modern animation programs.

Nowadays, the importance of tourism is increasingly growing. Tourism contributes to socio-economic development and increases gross domestic product (GDP), which is manifested in its capacity to create new jobs, reduce unemployment, stimulate investment and budget revenues, redistribute income from richer to poorer regions, and increase the quality of life of local communities. The main purpose of the paper is to assess the tourist potential of Poland and its individual voivodeships in the years 2010-2019 on the basis of selected indices of the tourism function. The empirical section is based on an analysis of the value of six indices of the tourism function development, including, among others, the Schneider, Defert and Charvat indices, etc. The values of the indices obtained for the tourism function development have confirmed the positive changes taking place in the tourism sector in Poland over the last ten years. In 2019, the average number of bed-places per 100 inhabitants in Poland was 2.22 (Baretje-Defert index). The values of the Charvat and Schneider indices also illustrate the positive changes in the tourism sector in Poland. In 2019, on average, approx. 244 tourist overnight stays were provided per 100 inhabitants, and on average there were approx. 93 tourists per 100 inhabitants. In conclusion, with each passing year, the values of indices representing the tourism function development have increased, which in the context of the country’s untapped tourist potential should be encouraging. Unfortunately, this positive trend has been hampered by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, it appears even more necessary to carry out further analyses of the tourism sector. The ongoing monitoring of changes in the values of the tourism function development indices can actually contribute to the development of adequate measures to minimise the effects of the pandemic on the economy and society, including the tourism industry.
