Sushruta in 1st part of his compendium described about wound healing its types etc. as Vranitopasaniya adhyaya. Ayurveda described so many compound medicines and oil for oral administration and topical application to accelerate the wound healing. But this is not scientifically validated. So there is always a search for finding a newer and better medicine for wound healing. I am presenting a case of 42 year old married male with complain of superficial external wound with mild pain,  mal odour  and not healing  since 45 days in spite of taking allopathic conventional treatment in his lower limb. The study was done in my outpatient department of Central Research institute for cardiovascular disease, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. On examination it was found that surface area of superficial wound is 22.5 sq. cm. having full thickness, skin loss involving necrosis of subcutaneous tissue extended down to underlying fascia. Necessary laboratory investigations were done prior to initiate the treatment. The wound was irrigated with Panchvalkala kasaya and dressing with Jatyadi Tail was done daily followed by oral intake of Triphala guggulu 500mg twice in a day and Amalaki churna 6gm twice in a day was administered orally for 28th days. Periodic follow up was done on 0, 7, 14, and in 28 days. This regimen was found to be effective in faster wound epithelialization, and reducing wound exudates. There was no evidence of any allergic reaction as well as no evidence showing any adverse event on the wound.

Luka adalah kondisi diskontinuitas skruktur anatomi jaringan tubuh mulai dari lapisan epitel kulit sampai lapisan jaringan subkutis, lemak, otot, tulang, serta struktur lain di sekitarnya seperti pembuluh darah, saraf, dan tendon akibat adanya trauma. Penyembuhan luka adalah proses dinamis yang meliputi unsur-unsur tubuh, pembuluh darah, fibroblast, dan sel epitel yang dirangkum dalam tiga fase utama yaitu fase inflamasi, fase proliferasi, dan fase maturasi. Biji anggur (Vitis vinifera L.) mengandung berbagai vitamin, karotenoid, senyawa polifenol, dan sterol yang menunjukkan efek menguntungkan pada penyembuhan luka. Tujuan dari tinjauan pustaka ini adalah untuk melaporkan temuan ilmiah terbaru tentang peran kandungan biji anggur dalam penyembuhan luka dengan sintesis kolagen, mencegah efek merusak dari radikal bebas, memastikan stabilitas dan integritas membran biologis, serta memproduksi kolagen yang mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode literature searching melalui database NCBI dan Google Scholar. Tahun penerbitan sumber pustaka adalah dari tahun 2000 sampai tahun 2019 dengan 22 sumber pustaka. Tema yang dikumpulkan terkait dengan kandungan biji anggur terhadap penyembuhan luka. Hasil dari sintesis artikel yang telah ditemukan yaitu biji anggur bermanfaat dalam mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Kata kunci: biji anggur, penyembuhan luka, polifenol THE POTENTION OF GRAPE SEED TOWARD ACCELERATE HEALING WOUND ABSTRACT Wound is condition of discontinue anatomical structure of the body's tissue from the epithelial layer of the skin to the subcutaneous tissue layer, fat, muscle, bone, and other surrounding structures such as blood vessels, nerves, and tendons due to trauma. Wound healing is a dynamic process involving the body, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells which are summarized in three main phases, namely the inflammatory phase, the proliferation phase, and the maturation phase. Grape seeds (Vitis vinifera L.) contain various vitamins, carotenoids, polyphenol compositions, and sterols which have beneficial effects on wound healing. The purpose of this literature evaluation is to report the latest scientific findings on the role of grape seeds in wound recovery by collagen synthesis, prevent damage to free radicals, ensure and integrate biological membranes, and produce collagen that can repair wounds. The method used in this article is literature seacrhing through the NCBI database and Google Scholar. The year of reaching the library source is from 2000 to 2019 with 22 library sources. The theme collected is related to grape seeds on wound healing. The results of the synthesis of articles that have been found are grape seeds that are beneficial in improving wound healing.  Keywords: grape seed, healing wound, pholiphenol

Injuries and wounds are any sorts of damage to the skin or subcutaneous tissue. Usually, any wounds of such sorts are self-healed. Sometimes, there may be a delay in healing, and that delay is caused due to the functional delays in various processes of wound healing. All the Ficus plants show similar activities like the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties 7including skin conditions like ulcers and rheumatism. The anthelmintic property and immunomodulatory are also seen. The herbal extracts of the same family of Ficus in different plants were investigated for the wound healing activity in the excision wound method, and the extracts showed significant activity compared to the drug. All the extracts showed a better healing ability, but the extract of FBO-100 showed the highest activity followed by FMO followed by FHO and finally the FRO. Overall, the activity of the extract ointment was comparable and was significant compared to the standard drug ointment. The wound closure of the extract ointment treated groups were better and were completed in 12 days, and the activity was more than 96%. The herbal extracts of the same family of Ficus in different plants were investigated for the wound healing activity in the excision wound method, and the extracts showed significant activity compared to the drug. The plants of microcarpa, benghalensis, religiosa and hispida are compared for the activity, and the order showed for the activity was FBO>FMO>FHO>FRO.

Early mobilization includes factors that can affect the process of wound healing after surgery. Immediate mobilization in stages is very useful for the process of healing wounds and preventing infection and venous thrombosis. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between early mobilization and the process of healing wound post operative sectio caesarea at Sinar Husni General Hospital Medan Helvetia. The research design used was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study used the Consecutive Sampling method of data collection using a checklist sheet conducted on a sample of 19 respondents. The results of the study in this study are the majority of respondents who did early mobilization and who experienced rapid wound healing process as many as 4 people (21%) while the minority of respondents who did early mobilization and who experienced slow wound healing process were 1 person (5.3%). The majority of respondents who did not mobilize early and who experienced a slow wound healing process were 11 people (57.9%) and a minority who did not mobilize early and who experienced rapid healing as many as 4 people (21.1%). Statistical test results obtained p value = 0.046 <0.005. The conclusions of the results of this study indicate there is a relationship between early mobilization and the process of healing post operative sectio of caesarea. Suggestions The results of this study can be applied as a reference to improve nursing care services, especially in providing counseling and assistance to patients.

Abstract Background The World Health Organization recommends vaccination rates of 75% against seasonal influenza for patients over 65 years old. In the 2013/2014 season, the German vaccination rates ranged between 14 and 65%. This study aimed to compare the attitudes, personal characteristics and vaccination behaviours of general practitioners (GPs) in regions with high and low vaccination rates in Germany. Methods In May 2016, a questionnaire was sent to 1594 GPs practising in 16 districts with the highest and the lowest vaccination rates in Western and Eastern Germany as described by the Central Research Institute of Ambulatory Health Care in Germany for the 2013/2014 season. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analyses were computed to identify potential factors associated with high vaccination rates. Results A total response rate of 32% (515/1594 participants) was observed in the study. GPs reported their attitudes towards vaccination in general and vaccination against influenza as mostly ‘very positive’ (80%, n = 352 and 65%, n = 288, respectively). GPs practising in regions with low vaccination rates reported their attitudes towards vaccinations in general (p = 0.004) and towards influenza vaccination (p = 0.001) more negatively than their colleagues from regions with high vaccination rates. Multiple logistic regression identified an increasing influence of year-dependent changing efficiency on GPs’ influenza rates as the strongest factor for predicting GPs from highly vaccinating regions (OR = 4.31 [1.12–16.60]), followed by the patient’s vaccination refusal despite GP advice due to already receiving a vaccination from another physician (OR = 3.20 [1.89–5.43]) and vaccination information gathering through medical colleagues (OR = 2.26 [1.19–4.29]). Conclusions The results of this study suggest a correlation between GPs’ attitudes and regional vaccination rates. Beneath GPs’ individual attitudes, the regional attitude patterns of patients, colleagues and medical assistants surrounding those GPs seem decisive and should be integrated into future campaigns to increase vaccination rates at a regional level.


The experiment herein described was undertaken at the Central Research Institute, Kasauli, India. It commenced on September 6, 1913, and terminated, owing to my recall to military duty for active service, on December 24, 1914. Having been on service for the past 18 months I have not hitherto had an opportunity to report it. Object of the Experiment . Its object was to determine the cause of congenital goitre and the conditions under which it developed in large animals, and to confirm and amplify the results I had obtained by previous experimentation on white rats.

Bangun-bangun leaves and palm leaves contain various secondary metabolites such as tannins, alkaloids and flavonoids which can healing wound. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of ointment combination of ethanol extract of leaves of bangun- bangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour.) And ethanol extract of palm leaves (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) In healing wound. The bangun- bangun leaves and the palm leaves are separated from the petiole and then dried in a drying cupboard so that it becomes a simplisia. Simplisia is extracted by maceration method then evaporated with a rotary evaporator and evaporated again on a water bath to produce a thick extract. Thick extracts from the leaves of bangun- bangun and palm leaves are then formulated into ointment preparations with varying concentrations. Each rabbit was shaved on its back then cleaned with 70% alcohol. Furthermore, rabbits were anesthetized using 0.5 ml Lidocain HCL as much as 0.5 ml subcutaneously. Next mark the part that will be injured with a diameter of 2 cm, by lifting the rabbit skin using tweezers and then made a wound using surgical scissors that have been sterilized first with 70% alcohol. Wound diameter measurements showed that all treatment groups from day 1 to day 23 experienced changes in wound diameter. The combination ointment of ethanol extract of leaves wake-up (EEDB) 10% and ethanol extract of palm oil leaves (EEDKS) 10% have a more effective effect in wound healing than single dose.
