This article plunges us into the history of chemistry teaching methods - one of the most interesting methodological sciences. This paper focuses on a methodical review of the most, perhaps, the famous Russian and productive practitioner. Vadim Verhovskiy known for his books and instruments created by him, and his famous «Techniques and methods of chemi-cal experiment». This article briefly describes the didactic activity of the largest Russian prac-titioner of the first half of the twentieth century. He was a leading expert in the theory and methodology of school chemical experiment. He also was the author of a workbook, school textbooks, books to read, various means of visibility: models and instruments. «Сhemical alphabet», which he created in 1927, allows students in visual form design formula of various classes of substances. This «Alphabet» and guidelines for it, made specifically for students can promptly be consciously formulas of substances and write the equations of chemical re-actions. His advice and experience, we can actively and usefully applied in working with con-temporary students. The unique experience should not be lost. It was to be hoped that the methodical heritage of V. Verhovskiy will be in demand also in the 21st century too. Key words: chemical alphabet, history teaching methodology, learning tools, Verhovskiy.

The history of chemistry through the “airs”: an experimental contribution to chemistry teachingAbstract: The Chemistry teaching in Brazil nowadays follows, predominantly, a traditional model, being verified the use of repetitive pedagogical methodologies with low learning potential. The article discusses the significance of science theatre and the role of nature of science in it, as well as the significance of history of chemistry, and different methods for popularizing it and using it in teaching. The study includes two surveys (N=45 and N=126) conducted among the audiences of “Virtanen!” play, performed in 2011. The data was analyzed using content analysis. Based on the results, the history of science was mainly portrayed through the life of the protagonist of the play, and the play showed the human side of science to the audience. In addition, from the viewpoint of nature of science, the play emphasized the role of social interaction in science as well as the interaction between science and the society. According to the audiences, national expertise in chemistry should be emphasized more in order to increase interest towards the subject and also to promote national self-esteem. It was suggested that history of chemistry should be presented through different methods, such as science theater, school teaching, exhibitions, and documentary films, in future. Also, it was hoped that history would be included in chemistry teaching together with other chemistry contents, through historical portraits of scientists, in collaboration with other school subjects or as a separate lesson on history of science. Science theatre was found to be a good method to teach history of chemistry and nature of science, and to popularize chemistry.

AbstractCurrently, thinking about disabled students' access to the classroom is essential since everyone has the right to education and to be present in society. Especially about the blind student, this requires a teaching methodology that is consistent with its limitations and that values its potentiality. Thus, the objective of this work is to divulge the experience of producing a Periodic Table adapted for Braille and that was used in chemistry classes with two blind students, valuing the history of the discovery of the chemical elements and of their organization up to the current Table. Based on the results of this experience, we emphasize that students with visual impairments need didactic resources and specific curricular adaptations so that they can participate actively in the construction of their learning and for this, the approaches of the History of Science are essential in this process. Keywords : Inclusive; blind; history of chemistry.

At the very end of the 18th century, the first textbooks on chemistry appear in Russia. Al-most all authors of the first textbooks received their education in European universities. The au-thors of these textbooks were at the same time the first professors who read a course in chemistry. The article traces the emergence of chemistry teaching methods from the very beginning. One of the sources is the textbook prefaces. The prefaces to the first textbooks are considered and recom-mendations for teaching chemistry are found in them. The technique is the general scientific prop-erty of all teachers. Attention is drawn to the importance of learning the history of teaching meth-ods for teachers. The experience of predecessors is our common heritage. Keywords: chemistry teaching, history of teaching, Russia

Abstract. Involving exhibits of the world-famous museums in studying professional vocabulary at the lessons of foreign language for art critics. This article researches the process of modernizing traditional teaching methods and teaching methodology in the current situation of changes in education system of Ukraine and new laws and reforms, issued recently. Due to the fact, that Ukraine have been integrating into European society, alterations involve evaluation and main principles of teaching in the universities of Ukraine. One of them is targeting at studying vocational vocabulary rather than general English. This generates the need for researching and finding the new ways for teaching the students of a certain faculty and certain specialization. In order to make lessons of foreign language contemporary and increase their effectiveness and studying results, the general ways of teaching should be adapted for the students of different professions. The particularities of the profession must be taken into consideration and the chain of new exercises must be developed. This will lead to the increase of motivation and will make studying process more various and topical. The article contributes in the developing of teaching methods for the students of art critic faculty. It is based on the practical work and practical study. The ideas, given in the article, have been put into practice, developed and improved during the practical lessons. One of the fundamental differences between professional direction and teaching general English is involving real professional situations in studying process. The novelty of the article is in the fact that as the profession of art criticism is quite rare, so far very little information could have been be found and very little research has been made. Practical exercises, considered in the article, involve the work with exhibits of the most prominent world museums and galleries. These ideas are based on the fact that a museum should be an expected place of work for the future art critic. Painting analysis is the most important skill, which should be acquired while studying. Direct work with the texts, attached to museum exhibits has been suggested, analysis of the rare exhibits from private collections has been offered in the article. Exercises, involving various types of memorizing material and developing such language skills as speaking, listening, information proceeding have been researched.

AbstractIn this work, we showed a characterization of the scientific academic production linked to the journals Química Nova and Química Nova na Escola about the “history of science” and “women in science”. The main objective of this work is to present the frequency and type of approach that has been taken on the participation of women in the history of chemistry from the publications of the last ten years of these journals, recognized in Brazil for their wide dissemination in the area of Chemistry and Education of Chemistry. Thirty papers published on this subject were identified, of which only three mentioned the history of a female scientist. We can therefore conclude that in general the history of science is still little used as a teaching methodology and that female participation is still much less common in its publications. This scenario needs more attention from researchers, so that the work of scientists is equally publicized as an example and inspiration for women of the general public and science students. Finally, there is an intrinsic need to combine social, historical and cultural factors with an understanding of the nature of science, scientific work and its teaching. Keywords: History of Science; History of Chemistry; Women in Chemistry.

This article examines some of the problems that are at the intersection of the sets of issues formulated in the ecology of personality, pedagogy, methods of teaching mathematics. It is proposed to consider the pedagogy not as experimental knowledge, but nevertheless as applied philosophy, following S.I. Gessen. It is also suggested to understand the methodology of teaching mathematics not only as a system of knowledge that has an independent history of development, but as a complex system associated with cultural traditions, psychophysical capabilities of an individual existing in the ecoenvironment, an integral part, which is the micro- and macroenvironment of the individual. The authors consider that the interaction of environments can be formally described in some cases by mathematical methods, and, therefore, build mathematical models of pedagogical activity. In particular, the compared in learning process, vocabulary complexes of students give a lot of information to the teacher and provide an opportunity to control the flow of educational information.
