The permeation of information communication technology (ICT) in the educational sector cannot be underestimated. Currently, ICT integration in education is moving away from the traditional use of computers for administrative work and typing assignments to mobile learning, collaborative learning, fast sharing of information and gamification. In ideal educational set-ups at either elementary or tertiary levels, the benefits that come with ICT integration are enormous. On the other hand, the traditional challenges to quality education have never been dealt with in many educational institutions all over the world. The persistent challenge of teacher shortages, capacity and infrastructural inadequacies have ensured some educational institutions the world over churn out students who are illiterate or unable to favorably compete in the global job markets with those whose institutions are better endowed. The argument is that the above challenges can easily be solved by respective countries through public-private-people partnerships so long as there is political good will for the concerned governments. The single most current shortfall to education and the innovation in education is the lack of information ethics. This paper strives to highlight the issues surrounding this challenge as well as some suggestions on how it can be solved.

Innovation in education world is a nuance that must always be improved, considering that time goes with the changing of era. So in the field of education there has to be a special touch in the form of innovation which is able to become an educational identity as a space for freedom from backwardness. Education is now designed to return to the local wisdom of each region so that it can produce scholars with extensive knowledge and cultured character. Slempit Village is one of the villages in Gresik Regency with unique local culture and now has to get special attention for some of them are starting to get abandoned as modern access which is marked by the construction of the Gresik-Mojokerto toll road. Various elements of society have the same responsibility for cultural preservation and especially in the world of education which focuses directly on the inculcation of values towards the nation's next generations. Based on this, the researchers conducted the Development of Indonesian Language Pop Up Book Based on Slempitan Culture. The development process is carried out with a research method of development which then gives birth to a pop-up book which is effective and relevant to be applied in the learning process, especially at SDN I Slempit regarding local culture of Slempit. The development model is done by adapting instructional development model which, according to Sadiman, 1996 (et al) consists of seven systematic stages. This study used validation instruments from the data analysis. The validation of Slempitan Culture-Based Indonesian Pop-Up Book consists of presentation / material validator as well as graphic validator. The results of the validation of the presentation obtained a score of 90% in the very feasible category. While the score obtained from the results of the graphic is 90.9% in the excellent category.

Whilst the primary aim of tests is to measure ability, it is not uncommon for tests to be deployed in education systems with the intention, at least in part, of driving change in educational practice by making demands that teachers and learners are expected to meet. Washback is one way by which teaching and learning practices may adapt to a new test, but it is not the only possibility and often fails to occur as intended. This paper seeks to draw together ideas from different sources to place washback in the context of other possibilities. The concepts of adaptive implementation and programmed implementation are taken from Henrichsen’s hybrid model of the diffusion/implementation of innovation in education systems. Washback is shown to act in parallel to but distinct from programmed implementation. The picture is completed with van Lier’s concept of wash-forward, first outlined in 1989 but subsequently neglected in the literature. Wash-forward is illustrated with an example from the implementation of the National Matriculation English Test (NMET) in China. The intention is to provide an easily visualised, refreshed and more complete perspective on the processes operating when a new test is introduced as part of a strategy aimed at driving changes in teaching and learning practices; a scenario which is very relevant to the current movement towards four-skills English testing in East Asia and around the world.

AbstractA pragmatist philosophy of psychological science offers to the direct replication debate concrete recommendations and novel benefits that are not discussed in Zwaan et al. This philosophy guides our work as field experimentalists interested in behavioral measurement. Furthermore, all psychologists can relate to its ultimate aim set out by William James: to study mental processes that provide explanations for why people behave as they do in the world.
