Several factors influence the employee's personality including psycho-social factors. Previously studies have conducted to investigate the influence of Big-5 traits which impact employee’s performance. This study investigated the influence of Big-5 on the employee’s performance. The study used a cross-sectional survey a 5-point Likert scale was distributed among 163 samples selected randomly. The findings report a significant relationship between the predictors and a criterion variable. The study points those two predictors i.e., openness to experience and emotional control predict 57% variance in criterion variable as compared to the extravert, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. This study concludes that teacher’s centric policies & mechanisms enhance employee trust and confidence and it overcomes the apprehensions, as result, they perform better and contribute more towards the promotion of education and research in higher educational institutions.

The present study aimed to comparatively analyze healthcare delivery perception among rural dwellers based on education (formal/informal) and gender. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design. A total of two hundred rural dwellers comprising males and females participated in the study. Perception towards health care delivery was measured with a self-developed instrument with demographic information. An independent t-test analysis found no statistically significant relationship between education and perception towards health care delivery. However, the result revealed a significant relationship between gender and perception towards health care delivery. Females were found to show a more positive attitude towards health care delivery than their male counterparts. The findings and conclusions are discussed.

The study was conducted to know whether education level and occupational status of parents in the Agona West Municipality of Ghana have any significant relationship with parental involvement in adolescent academic achievement. The cross-sectional survey and correlational research designs were employed and data were collected with the use of a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was self-administered to the 310 basics 8 pupils that were purposively sampled from the 6 randomly selected schools. Findings revealed that, in the Agona West Municipality, education level of both mothers and fathers had a significant relationship with parent’s ability to engage in school based activities of pupils as well as encouraging the pupils with respect to their academic achievement. However, occupational status of only fathers had a significant relationship with parent’s ability to involve in school based activities. Additionally, no significant relationship between a parent’s occupational status and their ability to encourage pupils with respect to their academic achievement was found. The authors provide guidance implications and recommendations based on the findings from the study.

The objective of this study was to explore the relationship between job insecurity, organisational commitment and work engagement among staff in an open distance learning institution. The research was conducted through computer-aided telephone interviews and self-completion techniques. A cross-sectional survey design was conducted among 260 employees in an open distance learning institution. The measuring instruments included the job insecurity scale, organisational commitment questionnaire and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. The results demonstrated statistically significant relationships between job insecurity and organisational commitment, and between job insecurity and work engagement. A practically significant relationship between variables was also determined; however, the effect was too small to yield a practically significant relationship between the variables. The results revealed that a component of job insecurity (likelihood of loss of job features), together with a component of work engagement (vigour), explains 25% of the total variation of organisational commitment and that the remaining 75% was attributed to factors beyond the scope of this study. This study demonstrated that employees would not always reduce their commitment and work effort when confronted with uncertainty as suggested by several studies. Nevertheless, it could be assumed that the survey participants fear being unemployed and feel trapped because of a lack of alternative employment opportunities.

The quality of service can be determined from the performance of the nurse in providing nursing care. The success of the team method in carrying out the nursing process is determined by the ability of the team leader to assign tasks to team members and direct work to the team. This study aims  to knowing  the relationship between the role of the team leader and the performance of nurses in documenting nursing care at the Jambi Provincial Psychiatric Hospital. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional survey using self-administered questionnaires The sampling technique was total sampling so that the sample size was 106 nurseswith analysis using the chi square test. The data were analyzed using statistical software. This study investigates the role of team leaders and nurses' performance in documenting nursing care. the role of the team leader in documenting nursing care was 54.1% good. the performance of nurses in documenting nursing care was 53.2% good. The statistical test results showed that the p value (0,000) <0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between the role of the team leader and the performance of nurses in nursing care documentation.This significant relationship explains that the role of the team leader will have a good influence on the documentation of nursing care carried out by the nurse in charge

Hiring of domestic staff and its effect on households’ crime has been an issues of great concern in Nigeria. This study is sets to investigate the correlates between domestic staff utilisation and crimes such as kidnapping, stealing and rape. Blocked opportunity theory and structural functionalism theory were adopted. Cross-sectional survey design was used while data was generated view questionnaire. A total sample of 330 respondents were selected from households in Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Nigeria. Information retrieved were coded and subjected to statistical analysis. Outcome revealed a significant relationship between the hiring of domestic staff and household crimes (such as kidnapping, stealing and rape). It was recommended among others that house helps should be passably screened through proper employment procedures before they are employed as domestic staff.

Background: In Bangladesh, violence plays a detrimental role in our daily lives directly or indirectly. The country experiences high levels of violence, with incidents of violence being reported in mass media daily. Objective: The objectives of this study were to assess the demographic and social factors associated with assault incidents as well as to establish the type of injuries suffered by the victims of assault. Materials and methods: This study was a retrospective, cross-sectional survey, undertaken at the casualty department of the Sherpur Upazilla Health Complex, Bogura, Bangladesh from 12th November 2016 to 11th December 2016. All patients who attended for injuries due to alleged assault (interpersonal violence) and met the inclusion criteria were included in the study. A total of 72 patients were assaulted which are selected as subjects of the study out of 131 casualties. Results: The majority of the victims were males (51.38%), 27.76% were single and 90.27% were of Muslims. The age group of the majority (31.94%) ranged between 21 and 30 years. Most the respondents (68.05%) had injuries to more than one part of the body. Among the assaulted patients, 65.27% had more than one type of injury. The majority of the victims of assault (58.33%2) were admitted for in-hospital treatment. Conclusion: The study revealed that majority of typical victims of assault treated at Health Complex was males between the ages of 21 and 30 years suffering from minor injuries, mainly to the abdomen and chest. The purpose of this chapter is to examine the effect of joint liability lending on micro businesses in Madina municipality. Joint liability lending has become a popular and fashionable word in financial and development circles. It is a cross-sectional survey study and used both primary and secondary data on joint liability lending. The study reveals that joint liability lending improves entrepreneurship and reduces poverty. There exists a significant relationship between joint liability lending and a high repayment rate. The implications are that individual within the group are encouraged to continue saving and microfinance institutions should continue investing in educating and training clients to improve upon their micro businesses.

Abstract Background The chiropractic profession is split between those practicing evidence-based and those whose practice is honed by vitalism. The latter has been coined ‘chiropractic conservatism’. In Denmark, the chiropractic education program is university-based in close collaboration with a medical faculty. We wanted to investigate if such conservative attitudes were present in this environment. Our objectives were to i) determine the level of chiropractic conservatism, ii) investigate if this was linked to academic year of study, iii) determine the level of clinical appropriateness, and iv) to investigate if this was affected by the level of conservatism among students in a chiropractic program, where the students are taught alongside medical students at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Methods A cross-sectional survey of 146 (response-rate 76%) 3rd to 5th year pre-graduate students and 1st year postgraduate clinical interns from the chiropractic degree course at the University of Southern Denmark was conducted during autumn of 2019. The students’ levels of conservatism were dichotomized into appropriate/inappropriate, summed up, and used in a linear regression model to determine the association with academic year of study. Thereafter, the conservatism score was categorized into four groups (from low -1- to high -4-). Conservatism groups were cross-tabulated with the ability to answer appropriately on nine cases concerning i) contra-indications, ii) non-indications, and iii) indications for spinal manipulation and analyzed using logistic regression. Results Generally, the Danish chiropractic students had low conservatism scores, decreasing with increasing academic year of study. Seventy percent of the students were placed in the two lowest conservative groups. The level of conservatism (categories 1–3) was moderately (but not statistically significantly) associated with an inability to recognize non-indications to treatment. Three outliers (category 4), however, revealed a highly inappropriate handling of the clinical cases. Conclusions Chiropractic students enrolled at a university-based course closely integrated with a medical teaching environment are not immune to chiropractic conservatism. However, the course appears to attenuate it and limit its effect on clinical decision-making compared to other educational institutions.

Introduction: Food handlers’ hands serve as a vehicle for potential foodborne pathogenic contamination which constitutes a public health risk. In Ghana, there are always constant reports of outbreaks of foodborne diseases in schools. However, determinants of hand hygiene practice among educational institutions food handlers are little known. The study, therefore, aimed to assess the determinants of hand hygiene practice at critical times among educational institutions’ food handlers in the Sagnarigu Municipality of Ghana. Methods: This was a cross-sectional survey among educational institutions food handlers in the Sagnarigu Municipality. Two hundred and six food handlers were selected through convenience sampling in the educational institutions. At the same time, structured questions that were developed from previous studies were used to assess food handlers’ hand hygiene practice at critical times. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bivariate and multivariate logistic regression models. All variables with their respective confidence intervals (95%) and adjusted odds ratios were declared significant at P-values less than .05. Results: Hand hygiene practice at critical times among the food handlers were relatively good at a rating of 66.0% (95% CI: 59.1, 72.5%). Good hand hygiene practice at critical times was less likely among food handlers with no food safety training (AOR 0.04; 95% CI: 0.00, 0.41) and food handlers who had insufficient knowledge of hand hygiene (AOR 0.06; 95% CI 0.01, 0.25). Good hygiene practice at critical times was 99% lower in food handlers with a negative attitude as compared to food handlers with positive attitudes towards hand hygiene at critical times (AOR 0.01; 95% CI 0.00, 0.07). Only 17.0% of the food handlers demonstrated proper handwashing techniques, whereas a good number (85.4%) of the food handlers did not wash their hands after touching money. Conclusion: Good hand hygiene practice at critical times was relatively good. Food safety training, knowledge of hand hygiene and attitudes towards hand hygiene were independent predictors of hand hygiene practice at critical times. Concerned stakeholders and organizations should focus on WASH interventions that seek to improve educational institutions food handlers’ knowledge and attitudes towards hand hygiene, coupled with training on food safety.
