From Gaikindo’s data, the impact of the covid-19 effect caused the automotive industry to experience a 50% contraction; PT Denso Indonesia, which is an automotive component company, felt the impact where actual production fell by 30% in the first quartile of 2020, the company’s adaptation was efficiency and productivity and activity cost down. The problem with the starter line is that there is a difference in the cycle time of each post in the sub-assy starter brush line, too gaping. From this problem, the researchers analyzed with the TPS and Line Balancing methods with the help of pro model simulations, from these activities evaluated the performance line from the previous line efficiency of 89.05% Balance Delay: 10.95% and Smoothie Index 12.58 improved to line efficiency of 93.59% Balance Delay: 6.35% and Smoothie Index 6.10. However, there are still bottlenecks, following which improvements will be made using line balancing with pro model simulations; pro model simulations were chosen because to make repairs, it is enough to use the help of applications that are in line with the goals of the company, which is currently survival amid this intense competition. After the repair was done using the Helgerson Bernie approach, a simulation of the line balancing method improvement was carried out. The line efficiency value was 95.76% Balance Delay: 4.24% and Smoothie Index 4.45 with a total outflow of 131 units of goods every 1 hour.

Today, there are a lot of problems occur in the Automotive Component Manufacturer Company. Amongst them, work not standardized on each process is the most serious one. Standardization work can help reduce the amount of time to complete the task without defects by efficiently guiding the operators. Other related problems include machines fail to clamp semi-finished products to the next station, stopper loose, and rework process which cause the car carpet size to miss the standards. All these common problems increased the cycle time of the car carpet assembly line. So, this study was aimed to investigate how to reduce cycle time of the car carpet assembly line in the Automotive Component Manufacturer Company which located at Port Klang area. Data was collected through interview and observation. To reduce the cycle time of the car carpet assembly line, Kaizen activity and line balancing are implemented. Kaizen is the continuous improvement process. Line balancing is used to manage the workloads among assemblers, to determine number of workstation and to reduce production cost of the company. The derived results show that the cycle time of the car carpet assembly line is reduced from 313 seconds to 131 seconds. This proves that kaizen activities and line balancing do improve the productivity up to 58%. However, to achieve more successful and effective improvement, further work standardization on each process is needed.

This rescarch aims to orange a balance production line 10 improve work efficiency to rice production output. This line balancing planning, we use Rank Position Weight ( RPW ). Using operation time data in every work station and also precedence diagram based on the shoes making process could be found elements/operation group involving a work station. With 3 cycles time such as 100,150 ang 160 seconds could be found a cycle time 150 seconds result minimum operation grouping of balance delay. From this planning could be concluded that there were 10 work stations with production output 168 part of shoes of day.

The gripper is the most important part in an industrial robot. It is related with the environment around the robot. Today, the industrial robot grippers have to be tuned and custom made for each application by engineers, by searching to get the desired repeatability and behaviour. Vacuum suction is one of the grippers in Watch Case Press Production (WCPP) and a mechanism to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing procedure. Pick and place are the important process for the annealing process. Thus, by implementing vacuum suction gripper, the process of pick and place can be improved. The purpose of vacuum gripper other than design vacuum suction mechanism is to compare the effectiveness of vacuum suction gripper with the conventional pick and place gripper. Vacuum suction gripper is a mechanism to transport part and which later sequencing, eliminating and reducing the activities required to complete the process. Throughout this study, the process pick and place became more effective, the impact on the production of annealing process is faster. The vacuum suction gripper can pick all part at the production which will lower the loss of the productivity. In conclusion, vacuum suction gripper reduces the cycle time about 20%. Vacuum suction gripper can help lower the cycle time of a machine and allow more frequent process in order to increase the production flexibility.

The Financial Master Plan (2001- 2010) aims to enhance the capacity of banking industry so that higher effic iency and productivity can be reaped in the future. This study seeks to determine the impact of merger on the efficiency and productivity ofcommercial banks in Malaysia for the period 1995 until 2005. The study uses a non-parametric approach, nam ely DEA (data envelopment analysis?) to estimate the efficiency scores and to construct the Malmquist productivity index. To enable this estimation, three bank inputs and outputs are used. Amongst the findings are those banks exhibit higher efficiency score after the merger and thefo reign banks are more efficient than the local banks. Productivity of the banks is calculated in both periods, before and after the merger: The results show that, it is the local banks that have improved the most after the merger. The main source of productivity is technical change or innovation. The findings support the existing policy of having larger domestic banks in term of size.

Roller hemming is usually applied for hang-on-parts such as hoods, doors or trunk-lids which all have complex non-linear geometries. The flange is often hemmed along both surfaces and edges which have 3D curvilinear shapes. Minimization of hemming defects and the requirement to improve cycle time of the roller hemming process are essential for roller hemmed hang-on-parts in the automotive industry. Different systems such as the driven roller hemming provide the possibility to increase the strain rate without loosing surface quality and dimensional stability. Investigating the influence of friction during roller hemming, results will give an understanding of the advantage for mentioned roller hemming systems.

Time study is the process of observation which concerned with the determination of the amount of time required to perform a unit of work involves of internal, external and machine time elements. Originally, time study was first starting to be used in Europe since 1760s in manufacturing fields. It is the flexible technique in lean manufacturing and suitable for a wide range of situations. Time study approach that enable of reducing or minimizing ‘non-value added activities’ in the process cycle time which contribute to bottleneck time. The impact on improving process cycle time for organization that it was increasing the productivity and reduce cost. This project paper focusing on time study at selected processes with bottleneck time and identify the possible root cause which was contribute to high time required to perform a unit of work.

Future technologies in automotive mobility as well as new factory and logistic concepts are changing the framework in car production. Innovations and uncertainties (e. g. the impact of new technologies) have to be taken in consideration for the factory of the future. New tasks, such as planning the assembly of batteries, need to be solved fast and intuitively. This paper presents an approach to this topic.
