This study explores the association between task conflict and team creativity and the role of group cognitive complexity (GCC) as a potential explanatory mechanism in a sample of 159 students organized in 49 groups. Moreover, we analyzed the moderating effect of collective emotional intelligence (CEI)in the relationship between task conflict and GCC.As hypothesized, we found that task conflict has a nonlinear relationship with GCC, but contrary to our expectations, it follows a U-shaped association, not an inversed U-shape. In addition, the moderating role of CEI was significant only at low levels. Contrary to our expectation, the mediating role of GCC did not receive empirical support. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed.

This study contributes to current knowledge on the protective role of emotional intelligence and flourishing in cases of suicide risk (namely depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation) in a sample of adolescent victims of traditional bullying. The proposed model tested the mediator role of flourishing in the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and suicide risk together with the moderating effect of EI in the relationship between low flourishing and increased suicide risk. Considering an initial sample of 1847 adolescents (52.5% female), a subsample of 494 pure bullying victims (61.3% female) took part in this research. The main results showed EI to be linked to decreased suicide risk through levels of flourishing. Moreover, EI buffered the relationship between low flourishing and the associated suicide risk. Victimized adolescents with both low levels of EI and of flourishing reported higher levels of suicide risk than their counterparts with high EI levels. This suggests the protective role of EI of both predicting higher flourishing and reducing the likelihood of suicide risk among victimized adolescents with low levels of flourishing. Finally, the practical implications of these novel findings regarding the role of EI and flourishing in the prevention of suicide risk among victimized adolescents are discussed.

Aims:Emotional intelligence is the measure of the comprehension of one's emotional state and the capability to manage emotions, to recognize emotions in others and to react to those emotions appropriately (Salovey & Mayer, 1990).In previous studies a strong correlation was found between low emotional intelligence and depression. (e.g.,Berrocal, Alcaide, Extremera, & Pizarro, 2006).Since antidepressants attempt to solve depression by numbing patients’ emotions and making the emotions more controllable (Arce et al, 2008; Davison, 2005), it was our hypothesis that antidepressants will lower emotional intelligence.Method:A package of questionnaires was distributed to 195 undergraduate students. Included in the package was a questionnaire asking subjects whether depressed, and were they taking antidepressants. Also included were the SCL-90 used to assess emotional distress (Derogatis,1985), the Beck Depression Inventory used to assess level of depression (Beck, 1981), and the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale used to evaluate level of emotional intelligence. Results:The results not only agreed with the findings of previous research linking low levels of emotional intelligence to depression, but also supported the hypothesis that the use of antidepressants would be linked to lower levels of emotional intelligence (r (191)= -.158, p< .029) This is a powerful finding, considering that the sample size was rather small. Only about 15% of the sample reported being prescribed antidepressants to treat their depression. Conclusions:The results of this study suggest that taking antidepressants as a form of treatment for depression might impact negatively on patients’ ability to handle their emotions.

As we all know the benefits of physical activity (PA) on physical and mental health are well established. However, inactivity among adults in Malaysia is still prevalent. This study examined whether emotional intelligence (EI) was one of the possible underlying psychological mechanisms that may be associated with the current low levels of PA adherence. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to examine whether EI plays a role as the potential underlying mechanism of PA behaviour among Malaysian adults. A total of 172 supporting staffs were recruited at a local Malaysian university. It was found that supporting staffs with higher physical activity in a week had better total EI scores and composite subscale scores. The findings of this study provide further support on the claims that there is a positive relationship between increased levels of EI and physical activity. Thus, the importance of higher emotional intelligence is critical in helping to bombard the sedentary lifestyle and inactivity among Malaysian adults. Therefore, training programs for university staffs in emotional intelligence skills is seen to be one of the upmost important agenda that should be looked at in the public sectors to help in promoting exercise and physical activity participation. It is highly recommended that the programs should be targeted at the maximum level towards individual who were sedentary and low active.

One of the goals of mathematics is to communicate ideas by using symbols, tables, diagrams, or other media to explain problems or circumstances. Based on the objectives of mathematics learning, the mathematical communication skills of students need to be considered. But many students have difficulty communicating to their mathematical understanding. This is influenced by several factors, one of them is the emotional intelligence of students. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach that aims to describe how students' mathematical communication skills in solving mathematical problems based on the level of emotional intelligence. The subjects of this research are the IVC grade students elementary school of Muhammadiyah Manyar in the academic year 2019 - 2020. This study consists of three students consisting of one student who has high emotional intelligence, one student who has moderate emotional intelligence, and one student who has low emotional intelligence. The methods used in this study are emotional intelligence questionnaire, students' mathematical communication skills test, and interviews. The results of the study indicate that students who have high emotional intelligence have high mathematical communication skills that are also able to illustrate the picture completely, solve coherently and correctly, and provide conclusions correctly. Students with a moderate level of emotional intelligence, have moderate mathematical communication skills, are able to illustrate almost exact and complete images, are able to finish coherently, and are not careful about answers that have been written. Students with low levels of emotional intelligence, have low mathematical communication skills, are able to illustrate almost exact images, find it difficult to write down information that is known and asked, and do not provide conclusions on answers. Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Mathematical Communication Skills

AbstractIntroduction. Wrestling is a sport that requires proper physical and mental preparation. The authors present selected psychological resources, emotional intelligence and creative attitude, as factors influencing the broadly defined mastery, both in the area of sport and out of it. These variables guarantee better adaptation to changing conditions and they are also connected with the effectiveness of handling different situations and optimal problem solving. The aim of the study was to diagnose emotional intelligence and creative attitude among young female and male wrestlers. Material and methods. The study included 20 females from the regional team of cadets and juniors and 19 male wrestlers from the sports school. The control group consisted of two deliberately selected groups of untrained students - 20 girls and 19 boys. KANH and INTE questionnaires were used in the study. Results. In the three groups under investigation medium levels of emotional intelligence and creative vs. reproductive attitude were observed. It was only female wrestlers who manifested low levels of emotional intelligence which, similar to the levels of nonconformity, heuristic thinking and creative attitude, were lower than in female students from the control group. The female wrestlers demonstrated higher levels of conformity and reproductive attitude. Female students demonstrated higher levels of emotional intelligence and conformity than male students. No differences between male and female wrestlers were observed. Conclusions. The findings show that it is necessary to conduct longitudinal research on athletes and untrained individuals. Bearing in mind that learning a motoric task depends, inter alia, on intellectual and emotional factors, the authors also recommend another course of research, i.e. the verification of how these variables are related to the effectiveness of learning motoric tasks. The authors' own research results as well as further (planned) investigations will make it possible to profile various educational effects and deliberately strengthen the potential of young wrestlers.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the results of empirical research of psychosemantic features of perception of animation advertising by the representatives of the youth target audience. Differences in the perception of animation advertising between representatives of three age groups within the youth target audience were established. The authors identified four factors (“Confidence”, “Attractiveness”, “Trust”, “Consumer Activity”), which are manifested in the perception of animation advertising by young teens (12-15 y.o.). At the same time, for аdolescence teens (16-19 y.o.) and youth (20-24 y.o.) there are three factors (“Confidence”, “Attractiveness”, “Consumer activity”), which determine their attitude to animation advertising. The peculiarities of young people's attitude to animation advertising with different types of graphics (2-D, 3-D, combined) and consumer motivation of this target audience are revealed. It has been identified that commercials based on the use of 3-D graphics are evaluated by representatives of the youth audience (of all age groups) most positively and often make them want to buy the products of the advertised brand. Commercials based on the use of 2-D graphics technology attract the most attention of younger teens (12-15 y.o.) and create the appropriate consumer motivation. The commercials created on the basis of the combined graphics are the least interesting to the representatives of the youth target audience. However, the ideas underlying such advertising are the most understandable for youth, and the advertising itself is perceived as relevant and evokes a sense of trust in the product and brand. The connection between the level of emotional intelligence and creativity with the peculiarities of the perception of animation advertising is revealed. Subjects with higher level of emotional intelligence rate animation graphics in advertising more positively than people with low levels of emotional intelligence. Representatives of the youth target audience (all age groups) with high levels of emotional intelligence are most sensitive to animation advertising using 3-D graphics. A similar trend is observed in subjects with a high level of creativity, rate commercials using 3-D graphics higher and perceive it more positively (compared with subjects with lower level of creativity). It is established that young teenagers (12-15 y.o.) with a high level of creativity also positively perceive animation advertising using 2-D graphics technology. Prospects for further research include a more detailed study of the perception of animation advertising with different types of graphics by different age groups, determining the relationship between the perception of animation advertising and the value-semantic sphere of the personality of consumers.
