Educational institutions in the Middle East are facing the challenges for providing meaningful learning approaches for students in order for them to meet the challenges of everyday life. The current trend in education is to move away from traditional methods of covering contents and to concentrate on processes that lead to learning and discovering of knowledge. This study proposes a set of principles that were inspired by reflecting on one of the greatest Traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, known as the ‘Hadith of Jabra’il’ (Gabriel). The learning model used within a blended teaching environment consists of face-to-face and online learning activities. The model was used for assisting adult students to attain a systemic thinking for understanding two subjects in information systems. This article is based on a qualitative research method to portray a personal reflection and experience on the teaching philosophy which has a positive impact on the lives of the students.

Innovative since its inception, the ACS Honors Humanities program has a long history of more than 40 years as an interdisciplinary team-taught course that examines essential questions through literature, visual and performing arts, philosophy and history.  This innovative approach has continued to motivate successive teaching teams to modify and enhance a program that challenges students academically, utilizing the best possible resources and taking advantage of new technology. In this article, we present one in-depth case study where we explain how we transformed the Honors Humanities course from Face To Face to i2Flex. We will describe and present examples of how we redesigned the course format and presentation, learning activities and assessment. We present data on student feedback and our findings regarding the benefits and challenges of adopting the i2Flex methodology for this course.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced Higher Education to adopt distance-learning approaches in traditionally face-to-face and practical-based fields such as the Health and Life sciences. Such an abrupt change to distance-learning contexts brings a variety of challenges to student learning communities, and ensuring key skills are effectively transferred. Chief among these is the limited opportunity students have to discuss their individual needs with their educators and peers in a synchronous manner. Proximity-based video-conferencing platforms such as gather.town can offer a unique opportunity for learners to interact with educators as well as pre-developed materials in a self-paced manner to tailor the teaching experience, and develop these relationships in a distance-learning context. In this case study the concepts of statistical analysis and the use of the data analysis software R is introduced to 38 University students using the online platform gather.town. With the use of private spaces, pre-recorded videos, and demonstrators, students are trained in both the concepts and practical skills to undertake data analysis in a self-paced manner. Both students and demonstrators provide their opinions on the effectiveness of the platform, and identify its benefits, preferring it to alternative online systems such as MS Teams for their educational sessions.

Abstract Clarisha Windrati Suseno (1603050065) **, Therapeutic Communication Officer Health with Pasien (Case Study at Niamata Kupang Mental Hospital) supervised by Dr. Petrus A. Andung, S.Sos, M.Si and Ferly Tanggu Hana, S.Si, M.Comn. Consists of 178 pages. 18 Reference books, 5 journals and 8 internet sites. Communication is almost a natural action that is not intentional for almost everyone. Therefore the function of its effectiveness can be ignored. Because communication is also an inseparable part of the world of health, intermediaries through doctors and nurses will always be in contact with patients. Hence effective communication skills will have a positive impact on the quality and outcome of health care for patients. This qualitative research aims to explore effective communication, how its relationships and influences for health and also to find ways to improve effective communication in health care settings in patients. The therapeutic communication concept also tries to highlight the importance of this communication concept, which is done through verbal or nonverbal communication and nurses consciously influence the patient or help the patient. Patients with mental disorders are a description of the syndrome with a variety of causes. Much is not yet known with certainty and the course of the disease is not always chronic. Generally characterized by fundamental deviations, the characteristics of thoughts and perceptions, and the presence of unnatural or blunt effects. Naimata Kupang Mental Hospital (Naimata Mental Hospital) is the only mental hospital in the Kupang City. Face to face communication is something that is often done by health staff at Naimita Mental Hospital with patients. Face-to-face communication (part of therapeutic) is more accurate for patient's healing process because in face-to-face communication the patient is more concerned and easier for therapist to see concepts in the patient and understand the problems that patient is experiencing. Hence this function can also encourage patients to express their feelings and ideas more clearly. There are various reactions to "therapeutic communication" because all patients are different in character, background, social status, culture, and so on.

The emergence of online learning offers the opportunities that are not possessed by the traditional face-to-face learning environment. Combining the strengths of the online learning and face-to-face learning, known as blended learning, is believed to enhance the quality of learning. Different subjects may have different designs of blended learning because there is no specific formula for the best practices of blended learning. This paper reports a study investigating the implementation of blended learning in a paragraph writing course. The purposes were to investigate the blended learning activities carried out in the paragraph writing course and to find out the extent to which it affected students’ writing paragraph performance. The participants of this case study, who were selected purposively, involved one lecturer and six students of a paragraph writing class. The techniques for collecting data included interviews, observations, and document analysis, and the data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Ten blended learning activities, including five activities in face-to-face settings and five activities online, were identified in the course. The students’ paragraph writing performance seen from the result of final test was satisfying, indicating that the use of blended learning had a positive effect on students’ writing performance.
