The study aimed at identifying the reasons behind aversion from reading by the students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Tafila Technical University in relation to the variables of gender and major. To achieve the aims of the study, a questionnaire was constructed. The questionnaire consisted of (45) items; each one represents a reason behind students’ aversion from reading. The questionnaire was administered on a random sample comprising (201) male and female students enrolled in the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Tafila Technical University during the second semester of the academic year 2015/2016.The results revealed that the degree of the samples’ ratings of the reasons behind aversion from reading on the tool as a whole was medium, the main reasons behind aversion from reading by the students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences were electronic addiction and students' tendencies towards having the information which is easy to reach instead of looking for it, and there were no statistically significant differences at level (α = 0.05) attributed to the variables of gender and major.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of knowledge of the students at Tafila Technical University (TTU) about diabetes in terms of its causes, symptoms and treatments. The sample of the study consisted of 171 male and female students enrolled at the Faculty of Educational Sciences for the academic year 2015/2016. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 25 items distributed over two groups, ten items consisted of four multiple answers, while the other 15 ones were based on a yes–or-no pattern verified by the norms of honesty and consistency. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the degree of knowledge of the students about diabetes, attributed to first-degree relatives with diabetes or not. In addition, the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of knowledge about diabetes attributed to gender, major and academic year.

<p>The research tackled the academic intrinsic motivation and its relationship with the emotional intelligence with a sample of the academic overachievers and underachievers of Najran University. The study population consisted of the students of Najran University who are enrolled in the University academic year 2015/2016, during the first semester in the various colleges. The study sample consisted of (423) male and female students; and the study instruments included the emotional IQ which consisted of (54) items, and the academic intrinsic motivation questionnaire, which consisted of (36) items, to identify the overall emotional intelligence degree and the motivation with the students. The results showed that the academic intrinsic motivation and emotional intelligence degrees were high with the university students. Furthermore, the results showed a direct correlational, statistically significant relationship between the academic intrinsic motivation and the emotional intelligence; and there are statistically significant differences between the motivation and emotional intelligence among the academically outstanding and non-outstanding students.</p>

An exploratory study was conducted examining the problem of identity and participation among Saudi youth in light of social transformations. The project combined the quantitative and the qualitative curricula and relied on a field study using an electronic questionnaire with a sample of 1318 male and female students from the University of Hail and the participation of 120 students in focus groups during the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year. The research was based on a number of international and local studies and surveys, and its conclusions were compared with their outcomes. The study outlined a set of indicators that showed the growing expression of the national belonging of the Saudi state in the context of an Arab–Islamic civilisation, a moderate view of the West, a balanced vision of reconciling conservatism with a move towards more openness, and a sense of confidence in the state and in the self. The research also found that the low rate of social participation is matched by a full awareness of its importance and a desire to practise it. The study recommended strengthening the gains of young people and developing areas of participation in proportion to the aspirations of those individuals.


ملخص: هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة دور واقع التعليم الإلكتروني في ظل جائحة كورونا على الرضا عنه لدى طلبة جامعة خضوري من وجهة نظرهم. واستخدِم المنهج الوصفي المسحي الميداني كمنهج للدراسة، تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة جامعة فلسطين التقنية (خضوري) فرع رام الله ذكوراً وإناثاً للعام الدراسي 2020/2021 والبالغ عددهم (817) طالباً وطالبةً، وتكونت عينة الدراسة بنسبة (25%) من مجتمع الدراسة؛ إذ بلغت (204) طالباً وطالبةً من طلبة جامعة فلسطين التقنية (خضوري) فرع رام الله اختيرت بالطريقة الطبقية العشوائية. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم رضا الطلبة لدى طلبة جامعة خضوري في فلسطين لدور واقع التعليم الالكتروني بشكل كبير خلال جائحة كورونا لاختفاء تأثير المنهاج الخفي غير المعلن، وقد كان المتوسط العام للدرجة الكلية للأداة بدرجة فاعلية “متوسطة” ونسبة استجابتها (66,3%) وبانحراف معياري (0.691) ومتوسط استجابة (3,316). أما عن الدرجة الكلية للمجال الأول فقد كانت بدرجة أثر “متوسطة” بنسبة استجابة (63,7%)، وبانحراف معياري (0.774)، ومتوسط استجابة (3.184)، أما عن الدرجة الكلية للمجال الثاني فقد كانت بدرجة أثر “متوسطة” بنسبة استجابة (68.3%)، وبانحراف معياري (0.698)، ومتوسط استجابة (3.413). كما أظهرت عدم وجود فروق في استجابات عينة الدارسة تعزى لمتغيري: الجنس، المستوى التعليمي، في حين ظهرت فروق دالة إحصائياً في استجابات عينة الدارسة تعزى لمتغيري: التخصص ولصالح الطلبة من ذوي التخصص الأدبي، ولمتغير مكان السكن ولصالح الطلبة الذين يسكنون في المخيم. الكلمات المفتاحية: واقع، التعليم الإلكتروني، فيروس كورونا، جامعة خضوري. Abstract The study aimed to know the role of the reality of e-learning in light of the Corona pandemic on the satisfaction of the students of Kadoorie University from their point of view. The descriptive field survey method was used as a method for the study. The study population consisted of all students of Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie) Ramallah Branch, male and female, for the academic year 2020/2021, and their number was (817) male and female students, and the study sample consisted of (25%) of the study population; It amounted to (204) male and female students from Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie), Ramallah Branch, which were chosen by random stratified method.The results of the study showed the students’ dissatisfaction among the students of Kadoorie University in Palestine for the role of the reality of e-learning in a significant way during the Corona pandemic due to the disappearance of the effect of the hidden undeclared curriculum, and the general average of the total score of the tool was with a “medium” effectiveness degree and its response rate (66.3%) and with a standard deviation of (0.691). ) and an average response (3.316). As for the total score for the first field, it was with a “medium” impact degree with a response rate of (63.7%), a standard deviation (0.774), and an average response (3.184), as for the total score for the second field, it was with a “medium” impact degree with a response rate (68.3%), with a standard deviation of (0.698), and the mean response (3.413). It also showed that there were no differences in the responses of the study sample due to the variables: gender, educational level, while there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample due to the two variables: specialization and in favor of students with literary specialization, and the variable of place of residence and in favor of students who live in the camp. This study aims at comparing the TOEFL scores of the English Department students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Cenderawasih University. The questions that need to be answered are first, whether there are any differences of TOEFL scores amongst English department students from different semesters. Secondly, whether there are any different scores between male and female students, third between the students with different learning backgrounds, and forth between students with different levels of interest in English. The participants are the students of semester 2, semester 4, semester 6, and semester 8, commencing in the academic year 2017/2018. TOEFL prediction test was given to the participants to get the scores. The scores of each variable were then compared by the application of ANOVA and t-test.  The result of this study can give a picture of how English teaching can be improved.

Industry revolution 4.0 era provides opportunities as well as threats for the students and alumni graduated from vocational education. Man roles are gradually taken by automatic machines. Consequently, unemployment is increasing. This certainly will contribute to the either local or national problems. Therefore, vocational education students have to intensify their learning achievements. This study discusses the learning achievements of the male and female students at the Shipbuiding Institute of Polytechnic Surabaya (PPNS) and Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed). The analysis of learning achievements in this study used the documentation data of the GPA in scale 4, taking the whole population either male (M) or female (F) in the academic year 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018. In the last three years, total PPNS’s graduates are 1959 (1418 male, 541 female) and Polmed’s are 5938 (2821 male, 3117 female). Based on the descriptive quantitative analysis, the average of learning achievements at PPNS shows that accumulated GPA of the female students’ is 3.39 > male students’ 3.28. While at Polmed, it is GPA of female students’ is 3.27 > male students’ 3.14. Total of students is still gender imbalance referring to the graduates data in year 2018 for PPNS’ Welding Study Program in which having only two female students with average GPA 3.41 and 53 students with average GPA 3.15, meanwhile at Polmed, the total students with largest gap in gender occured at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program with total of male students 240 (average GPA 3.10) and female students only 11 (average GPA 3.20). This result indicates that in these two vocational educational institutions, e.i. PPNS and Polmed, the learning achievement of female students is betterand more competitivable than the other

This study aims to identify practice of emotional and spiritual education by faculty members of Tafila Technical University and its relation in development of students' self-behavior   in light of some variables like gender and specialization.To achieve the goal of the study, a questionnaire was prepared to collect information to be distributed to a random sample consisting of 227 students (males and females) in Tafila Technical University (TTU) in the academic year 2016/2017. The study concludes  that the degree of practice of emotional and spiritual education and self-behavior  by faculty members of TTU is medium and that there is a correlation between spiritual & emotional values and self-behavior. According to these results, the study provides some recommendations including: to include contents of spiritual and emotional education in training programs for the faculty members of TTU, to develop teaching methods in universities in a manner that agrees with the moral curve that motivates students to develop self-discipline skills.

Gender equality is one of the important topics that need attention in learning. This study aims at finding out the cognitive learning outcomes of the equality of male and female students in Children Learning in Science (CLIS) that was combined with a Brain Gym. This study is a a comparative research. The population of this study were the students of grade XI MIA SMA Negeri 7 Kupang in the academic year of 2018/2019 and the sample of this study were the students of grade XI MIA 1. The instrument used was a test of cognitive learning outcomes. The data obtained were analyzed using Anakova. The results showed that by combining CLIS and Brain Gym technique, the equality of cognitive learning outcomes for male and female students can occur. Providing the same opportunities, the same tasks, and the same responsibilities during CLIS combined with a Brain Gym learning, can minimize the differences in characteristics between genders so that the learning outcomes obtained are equivalent.


هدفت الدراسة إلى قياس مستوى الوعي البيئي لدى طلبة كلية العلوم التربوية في جامعة القدس المفتوحة واتجاهاتهم نحوه، استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وبلغت عينة الدراسة (172) طالبا وطالبة للعام الجامعي 2017/2018، وكانت أداة الدراسة عبارة عن استبانة مكونة من (45) فقرة لقياس الوعي البيئي ومقياس مكون من (34) فقرة لقياس الاتجاهات نحوه، توصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج أهمها : تدني مستوى الوعي البيئي لدى عينة الدراسة حيث بلغت النسبة المئوية لمن ليس لديهم وعي بيئي(أقل من 60%) كانوا ( 90.7 ) أما من لديهم وعي بيئي ( 60% فأكثر) كانوا (9.3%. توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح الذكور في مستوى الوعي البيئي بين الجنسين حيث بلغ الوسط الحسابي للذكور (52.5) والوسط الحسابي للإناث (49.1). ومن لديهم اتجاهات نحو الوعي البيئي بلغ (14.5%) أما من ليس لديهم اتجاهات إيجابية نحو الوعي البيئي فقد بلغ (85.5%)، لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الجنسين وبين مستوى الاتجاه نحو الوعي البيئي. The present study aimed at measuring the level of environmental awareness among the students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Al-Quds Open University and their attitudes towards it. The descriptive analytical approach was followed on a sample of (172) male and female students from the Faculty of Educational Sciences in the academic year 2017/2018. To collect the data of the study, a (45) item questionnaire was used to measure the environmental awareness besides a (34) scale to measure the students’ attitudes towards it. T study concluded the low level of environmental awareness among the study sample, as only (9.3%) among the students who reached (60% and above) on the environmental awareness scale. It is worth mentioning that the percentage of environmental awareness was compared to the hypothetical percentage (60%). The results also showed that those who have no environmental awareness (cut off less than 60%) reached (90.7%), while the rest had environmental awareness (9.3%). Additionally, there are statistically significant differences of the total sample in favor of males in the level of environmental awareness, where the mean of the male was (52.5). Moreover, the results revealed that those who have positive attitudes towards environmental awareness reached (14.5%), while those who did not have positive attitudes towards environmental awareness reached (85.5%). Finally, there are no statistically significant differences between the attitudes of the students neither due to their gender nor due to the level of the trend towards environmental awareness.

The objective of this study was to identify the knowledge outcome of students majoring in physical and health education at Al-Balqa Applied University studying the principles of sports training, nutrition for athletes, and sports anatomy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, where the curricula for the principles of sports training, the nutrition curriculum for athletes, and the sports anatomy curriculum were chosen, which were taught during the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. In order to determine the degree of the knowledge outcome of the students, the study adopted the purposive sampling method in selecting the study sample. The students of physical and health education specialization at Al-Balqa Applied University were identified, where the sample consisted of 135 male and female students. The study concluded that the ratio of the total knowledge outcome to the knowledge outcome was at a moderate level with a percentage of 61.1, while it was low in the sports Anatomy curriculum 58.8. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of the students of Princess Alia College, and the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in the nutrition and sports anatomy domain, while there were statistically significant differences in favor of males in the principles of sports training domain. This study increased the depth of understanding of knowledge outcome during the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas other studies were performed in normal non-stressful situations.
