Students nowadays are reluctant to go to the mosque to learn Quran. Their characters are influenced by technology such as television, the internet, and video game which then make parents and teachers worried and anxious if they will act negatively. This thesis uses research design of mixed-method with the objective to complete the image of research result about the phenomenon and to strengthen the analysis. The research strategy is done by combining the data from observation, interviews, and questionnaires in order to get qualitative and quantitative data. The data analysis is continuous qualitative-quantitative analysis, it is done by analyzing qualitative data and followed by analyzing the data through quantitative one. The hypothesis testing is done by using simple linear regression analysis with SPSS 18 program. The result of qualitative data is the students’ affection on Quran in Islamic Elementary School through Quran memorizing a program. Students’ social behavior is positive, whether toward friends and teachers in school. The result of quantitative data shows that students affection on Quran is 44% categorized as high, 40% as fair, and 16% as low. Students’ social behaviour shows that 74% as high, 10% as fair and 16% as low. The hypothesis testing uses t-test and the result of tcount is 6.356 with the significance of 0.026. The tcount ? ttable (6.356 ? 2.010) or sig. t ? 5% (0.026 ? 0.05), it can be concluded that the variable of students’ affection on Quran has significant influence toward the variable of students’ social behaviour. The students’ social behavior is influenced by 55% of a variable of students’ affection on Quran while 45% is influenced by other variables outside this research

Acquisition of science skills among pre-primary school learners has had its fair share of challenges with many pre-primary school learners manifesting low competencies in manipulation, experimentation and observation skills. The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of teachers’ improvisation of heat-producing materials on acquisition of science skills among pre-primary school learners. The study was guided by Social Constructivism and Instructional Theories. The study adopted mixed methodology and applied concurrent triangulation research design. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically along the objectives and presented in narrative forms. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using linear regression analysis with the help of Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS 23) and presented using tables. These results indicate that there is significant relationship between teachers’ improvisation of heat-producing materials and acquisition of science skills among pre-primary school learners (p=0.000< 0.05). The study established that pre-primary school learners’ manifest low science skills. That is, their manipulation, experimentation and observation skills are still below average. The study recommends that the pre-primary curriculum developers emphasize the improvisation of heat-producing materials as much as possible and frequent inspections are carried out. For future studies, researchers may put greater interest in conducting a similar study with national scope to certain the influence of improvised instructional materials on the levels of science skills among pre-primary learners.

This study aims to determine the effect of discipline on the performance of employees of PT PLN (Persero) Merauke Area. The sample in this study were 52 respondents, the sampling method used was the technique of total sampling and sampling was done using a Likert Scale, then the data was processed using SPPS version 17 with a simple linear regression analysis technique. From the regression analysis obtained by the equation Y = 26.133 + 0.269 (X). Hypothesis testing using the t test shows that the discipline variable (X) is proven to have a significant effect on employee performance (Y), this is evidenced by the value of t count, (X) = 3.070 with a significant level of 0,000 <0.5 so ha is accepted and ho is rejected. R Square figures of 15.9% indicate that employee performance can be explained by disciplinary variables, while 84.1% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.   Keywords: Discipline and Employee Performance.

Purpose: Mathematics’ teachers play an important role in teaching of concepts in mathematics and ensuring that students register good grades in tests. However, in Mwala Sub-county, the scenario is different with many students registering low achievement in mathematics. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the influence of mathematics’ teachers training on use of questioning technique on students’ achievement in mathematics in public secondary schools in Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County, Kenya.Methodology: The study was guided by the learning theory. This study adopted mixed methodology and thus applied concurrent triangulation research design. Questionnaires were used to gather quantitative data from mathematics’ teachers whereas interview guides were used to collect qualitative data from principals. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically based on study objectives and presented in narrative form. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferentially using linear regression analysis in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS Version 23) and presented using tables.Findings: The study established that many mathematics’ teachers have basic training on how to use the questioning technique in teaching mathematics. However, this has not improved students’ achievement in mathematics.Contribution to theory, policy and practice: The study recommends that mathematics’ teachers should undergo many in-service trainings on how improve the questioning technique skills. Mathematics’ teachers interact more with experienced colleagues by attending seminars and workshops designed to improve their experience and levels of exposure to different approaches of questioning. The Ministry of Education should create room for more in-service trainings for the newly recruited mathematics’ teachers.

There are still many teachers who have not been able to act professionally. Lack of emotional intelligence and motivation of teachers to complete tasks hampers teacher performance. This research was an ex post facto research. The population in the study involved 46 respondents. The techniques used to collect data are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The instrument used in analyzing the data is a questionnaire. The data analysis method used consists of classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing. Classical assumption test consisted of residual normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, and SPSS-assisted linearity test. Hypothesis testing used simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis assisted by SPSS. The study results based on simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis showed that (1) there was no effect of emotional intelligence on teacher performance. (2) There was an effect of workload on teacher performance with a contribution of 98%. (3) There is an influence of emotional intelligence and teacher workload on teacher performance with a contribution of 14.3%. It can be concluded that there is an influence of emotional intelligence and teacher workload on the performance of elementary school teachers.
