Second language learners especially in English language need further language support in view of the fact that they operate on the performance level of language use as against competence. Achieving success in the teaching and learning of a second language such as English is determined by a number of linguistic and nonlinguistic factors such as the attitude and language skills of the learners, the teacher’s innovativeness and competence, effective teaching methods and materials such as visual, audio-visual aids and media aids to language learning. This research is motivated by the problem inherent in the traditional teaching methods which is stereotypical, boring with little active students’ engagement in the learning process, which makes knowledge transfer an arduous task. The research represents a shift in language teaching and learning - from the known traditional to a more technological mode of learning- giving way to new technologies in which the media plays a prominent role. The work adopts a qualitative methodology in assessing the role of the media in language teaching and learning both on the part of the students as well the teacher, especially in terms of self-development and innovations. It was discovered that media aids in language learning, facilitates the overall learning process and helps the teacher to transcend his limitations in areas such as pronunciation, vocabulary to be able to guide the students aright. This makes learning an ongoing process rather than a product.

The implementation of a scientific approach is something that needs to be studied more deeply in order to create an active and efficient learning process. This study aims to determine the implementation of learning plans and the application of the scientific approach by science teachers. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method which is also known as naturalistic research. The result of this study is that the science teacher understands the theoretical scientific approach, and is equipped with a plan in the RPP document which is prepared before the lesson takes place. In the process of applying the scientific approach, it takes a longer time to carry out observations, where the media displayed is limited to the use of simple paper, due to the limited supporting learning media such as LCD projectors, and so on.

Abstract The method of learning tahsin Al-Quran is a learning process for someone to be able to read the Koran properly and correctly. With the existence of this method of tahsin Al-Quran, generations will always be born who are able to read the Al-Quran with tartil, and its impact will directly support and help the focus of the government in achieving its own educational goals. One method to make the learning of the Al-Quran tahsin run interesting is to use the Naghom maqomat approach (the art of reading the Al-Quran). One of the interesting maqomats is the baby rhythm. From the land of Arabia to all corners of the world, nagham has become a loyal friend to the recitation of the Al-Qur'an, then Muslims can read the Al-Qur'an in the murattal version and the mujawwad version. Even though there are differences of opinion about whether or not nagham is allowed to read the Qur'an, the difference of opinion - which is old - leads to the caution of the Maliki school of thought that the purity of the Al-Qur'an is tainted. The purpose of this research is to determine the development of the tahsin method with the maqamat bayati approach. The method used is a qualitative research method by means of experiments. The summary of this study describes a new tahsin method that is easy, interesting and fun and easy to learn. The conclusion is to produce a new method that can increase people's interest in learning tahsin Al-Quran.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the using of Google Classroom in improving reading comprehension, how students’ perceptions when engaging with Google Classroom in the learning process, and what obstacles encountered in implementing it. The design of the research is a descriptive qualitative research method. In this study, the researchers took the samples from the students on grade XI of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 4 Jakarta. While the data was collected by conducting reading comprehension tests, interviewing students, and filling the questionnaire to gain their perceptions about Google Classroom. After analyzing the data, the result showed that using Google classroom could improve students’ scores on reading comprehension; this indicated by comparing pre-test and post-test. Regarding students’ perceptions of using Google Classroom, it revealed that some students still preferred to study in the classroom since they could interact directly with the teacher. Contrary, some of them would choose to learn by Google Classroom; they were more enthusiastic using an interesting featured-technology in which is easier to access whenever and whatever they are. The obstacles were encountered in the learning processes such as unstable internet connection in the school and unskilled teachers to operate the application. Therefore, using technology has to consider the devices and sophisticated equipment to support a better system in the learning process. Besides, the humans to operate the system should be trained well in order for the learning process is going smoothly.

The communicative language teaching (CLT) approach emphasizes the change in the role of the teacher from a transmitter of knowledge to a facilitator of language learning. Teachers must therefore, develop and utilize teaching strategies that enable learners to freely interact in a classroom environment to enhance the required communicative competences. However, in the Ugandan context where the curriculum is examination-driven, teacher competence is judged on the basis of students’ excellence in the final examinations. As such, teachers tend to focus on producing better grades, thereby neglecting learners’ acquisition of vital communicative competences. This paper spells out the teaching strategies teachers of German use to create a supportive environment for communicative language teaching and learning. A cross sectional survey research design was used in the study. Questionnaires, observations, and semi-structured interviews were used to gather data on teachers’ experiences regarding the teaching strategies used to support CLT approach. Findings revealed that the teaching strategies utilised by the teachers of German had very little bearing on the CLT approach. For instance, the classroom environment did not encourage free interaction among learners as required by the CLT approach. It was recommended that teachers be introduced to teaching strategies that are relevant to the CLT approach during their pre-and in-service training.
