The premise for approaching the subject is the need to support companies in selecting the best stock replenishment system, taking into account all external or internal limitations related to delivery terms and order volumes assuming that safety stock is the central factor ensuring the achievement of the intended availability level. In order to meet the objective, several stock replenishment systems are briefly described. Then, prerequisites for their proper selection are identified and classified. As a result, a selection table is developed along with an algorithm for selecting an optimal stock replenishment system based on an economic or qualitative criterion.

The increasing complexity of supply chains, whose structure is changing from a linear to network form creates the need to track a growing amount of information allowing the evaluation of the functioning of the entire supply chain. Developing a system for measuring the performance of the supply chain requires the proper selection of indicators. Performance measurement should be done in a particular context, the analysed dimensions of indicators resulting from the purpose and focus of the survey should be determined. The article reviews Polish and foreign literature in terms of the proposed framework and methods for measuring the performance of the supply chain and the indicated categories (dimensions) of indicators. The authors approach the subject of evaluation of the performance of the supply chain in very different ways. Indicators are divided according to the level of the decision-making process: strategic, tactical, and operational. They are also divided into cost and non-cost or financial and non-financial ones. There are also approaches using the already well established methods and models. An example of this is the selection of perspectives according to the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and the SCOR model.

The general public is in need of education regarding the responsible use of pesticides in home gardens. A 1990 California survey indicated that many individuals never read product labels and do not follow safety precautions when applying pesticides. A 1991 EPA study found that the most frequently detected pesticide in well water was a breakdown product of DCPA, a commonly used herbicide on home lawns. A 1988-89 National Gardening Survey found that 39% of US households purchased pesticide products. Excerpts of a video tape titled “Read the Label”, which specifically targets the home gardening audience, will be presented. Because the subject of pesticide safety may be of little intrinsic interest to gardeners, actors were hired to lend a bit of light humor. Highlights feature Gordon Guardian, the Gardening Angel, who comes to Earth to guide Beth Homeowner through the proper selection, use. hazards, storage, and disposal of pesticides. Production methods, funding and budgeting of the video will also be discussed.

The subject of algorithm and programming is one of the important knowledge that need to be mastered by students in computer science. To learn it, students are required to have several skills, such as logic, critical thinking, problem solving, etc. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design and build multimedia applications to support critical thinking, called computational stories, on studying basic programming with a problem-posing model approach by involving cases in everyday life. In this application, students are given some cases in the form of code with the C programming language. Then, students are asked to arrange a correct story line from the choices available. From this research experiment, the results show that this multimedia can improve critical thinking based on comparison of pre-test and post-test results with an average of 32.9 to 72.47. With an average gain value of 0.58 included in the medium category.

This study aims to improve student mathematics learning outcomes by using the Auditory Intelectually Repetition (AIR) learning model approach. This research using a Kemmis and Taggart model design consisting of two cycles. The subject of the research is the 4th-grade student at Prambatan Kidul 1 Elementary School. Data analysis techniques through interviews, observation, and tests. The result of this study indicates that student learning outcomes using the AIR learning model assisted by magic circuit media have increased. This can be seen from the increase in the pre-cycle stage which shows the mathematical learning outcomes of a student by 37,03% with an average score of 62 experienced an increase in the first cycle of 59% with an average score of 66 and the second cycle also increased to 85% with a score an average of 77. Based on the result of the research that has been carried out by 4th-grade students at Prambatan Kidul Elementary School, can application Auditory Intelectually Repetition model assisted by magic circuit media can improve mathematics learning outcomes.

This chapter explores the ramifications of musical improvisation for understanding self and other. It argues that contemporary cultural theory is over-invested in Hegelian notions of the self as created through the field of the other and the concomitant emphasis on “recognition” as the central factor in the construction of the subject. This emphasis on recognition is, in part, installed through the theory of performativity. The article illuminates problems with this theory and then offers an alternative theory, the “improvisative,” that focuses on “generosity” rather than “recognition.” It argues that the practice of the improvisative may offer a better approach to effecting human agency than the performative. An examination of the improvisative practices of middle and high school age girls at the Girls’ Jazz and Blues Camp in Berkeley, California demonstrates this effectiveness.

The article is devoted to the analysis of research approaches and attitudes to the study of the a priori in the philosophy of science. In the first part, I outline the basic premises of this study: (a) scientific knowledge as the highest manifestation of rationality; (b) the normative nature of scientific knowledge. In the second part, I turn to the difference in the subject of philosophical research on the history of science – the history of science as a “history of facts” vs the history of science as a history of scientific thought. The third part discusses the main theoretical and technical difficulty associated with changing the subject of research – the possibility of a transition from historical fact to “scientific thought at the time of its birth” (in Helene Metzger terminology). The forth part is devoted to the analysis of the “model approach” (Arianna Betti, Hein van den Berg) in philosophy as a possible way to overcome this difficulty and includes both theoretical and technical aspects of the future direction of research. In conclusion, consequences are drawn about the possibility of using the “model approach” for reconstruction a priori in the history of science as “constitutive elements of scientific knowledge” (David Stump).

Since competitions in karate take place within bouts and katas, the subject matter of this study are the psychological characteristics which contribute to this differentiation. The goal of the research is to determine the predictive values of psychological characteristics in the competitive selection of karatekas. In relation to the subject matter and goals of the research, as well as studies carried out so far, a hypothesis has been formulated: significant differences exist in goal orientation between karatekas of various competitive orientation. The study included 79 karatekas, 12 to 14 years old, 37 of whom are competitors in bouts, 23 of whom practice katas, and 19 respondents who take part in both disciplines. In order to evaluate the motivational orientation, we used the Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ), designed by Duda & Nicholls. Even though the overall results did not confirm the initial hypothesis that the respondents of various competitive orientation should differ in their motivational climate of goal orientation, they to a large extent can be of significant help in the proper selection of young competitors in karate.
