Background: Hematuria is a symptom with a prevalence of 0.5% to 2% in those aged 5 - 12 years. Different factors can influence the severity of hematuria, including vitamin A (as a micronutrient). Objectives: The current study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of vitamin A on hematuria in children. Methods: In this clinical trial study, 156 children aged 5 - 12 years with Idiopathic Microscopic Hematuria are studied. Participants were divided into two groups of treatment and control (each with 76 subjects). Those in the treatment group received vitamin A as a pearl of 25000 in 14 days, in addition to the routine treatment. The control group only received routine handling. The basic information of patients were recorded using an author-develop form by the supervisor and intern. Urine samples were collected on 14, 28, and 42 days. Data were analyzed using SPSS. Statistical significance was considered when P-value < 0.05. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups concerning gender (P = 0.202), age (P = 0.330), father's education (P = 0.152), mother's education (P = 0.392), father's occupation (P = 0.125), mother's occupation (P = 0.265), and numbers of children in the family (P = 0.209) variables. Hematuria status on days 14 (P = 0.014), 28 (P = 0.001), and 42 after treatment (P = 0.001) was statistically more positive in the vitamin A group, compared to the placebo group. Hence, there was a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusions: Vitamin A can improve idiopathic microscopic hematuria. Hence, vitamin can be used as an alternative treatment to treat idiopathic hematuria in children.

Background: Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a common cause of hip pain that may lead to decreased performance in Major League Baseball (MLB) players. Purpose: To determine the (1) return-to-sport (RTS) rate in MLB players after hip arthroscopic surgery for FAI; (2) postoperative career length, innings pitched (IP) (pitchers), and plate appearances (PA) (position players); (3) preoperative and postoperative performance; and (4) postoperative performance compared with control players matched by position, age, years of experience, and performance. Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: MLB athletes who underwent hip arthroscopic surgery for FAI and matched controls were identified. Demographic and performance data were collected. RTS was defined as playing in at least 1 MLB game after surgery. Continuous variables of each group were compared using a 2-tailed paired-samples Student t test for normally distributed data. The chi-square test was used to analyze categorical data. The Bonferroni correction was used to control for multiple comparisons, with statistical significance defined by a P value of ≤.007. Results: A total of 50 players (57 surgeries) were analyzed (mean age, 30.4 ± 3.9 years; mean MLB experience at the time of surgery, 7.0 ± 4.6 years). Pitchers (31 surgeries; 54.4%) represented the largest proportion of players analyzed. Of these players, 42 (47 surgeries; 82.5%) were able to RTS at a mean of 8.3 ± 4.1 months. The overall 1-year MLB career survival rate of players undergoing FAI surgery was 78.9%. Players in the control group were in MLB a similar number of years (4.0 ± 2.9 years) to players who underwent surgery (3.3 ± 2.4 years) ( P > .007). There was no significant decrease in IP or PA per season after surgery ( P > .007). There was no significant difference in performance for pitchers and nonpitchers compared with matched controls after surgery ( P > .007). Conclusion: The RTS rate for MLB athletes after hip arthroscopic surgery for FAI was high. There were similar IP, PA, and career lengths postoperatively compared with preoperatively and with matched controls. There was no significant difference in performance for pitchers and nonpitchers compared with matched controls after surgery.

The activities of children more involve the foot. One of the common problems in the foot is flexible flatfoot. A disturbance in the process of the formation of the arch foot could result in a deformation of the foot and increases the risk of an injury due to postural balance change. Normally, the arch of the foot formed the first five years for the age range of 2-6 years. The right choices of the intrinsic muscle exercises of the foot can prevent deformation and improve postural balance. This study aimed to discuss the effectiveness of foot strengthening exercise to improving postural balance and functional ability of foot on a flexible flatfoot 6-10 years old. This study was pre-experimental research with two groups of pre-post test design. The subjects of this research were 30 students that had been divided into two groups, case, and control. Each group consists of 15 students selected used purposive sampling method based on the criteria of inclusion that had been set. There was a significant difference after foot strengthening exercise between the case and control group, p-value = 0,000. The foot strengthening exercise could improve the postural balance and functional ability of the foot on a flexible flatfoot 6-10 years old.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of a sports games experimental program on improving specific motor abilities in adolescents with mental impairment. The study was conducted on a sample of 60 adolescents diagnosed with mild mental impairment, divided into two groups (experimental group EG, and control group CG) with an equal number of participants. The special program of sports games lasted for 12 weeks, with a weekly frequency of four times and a duration of 30 minutes per training. The participants of both groups were tested with the same variables within the specific motor skills for the sport of football and basketball. After a twelve-week experimental program of sports games, there were statistically significant improvements in the EG in the variables: SMFS, SMDR, SMCP with a statistical significance of r=0.000. The results of the ANOVA and MANOVA analyses indicated that after the application of the specific sports games program there was a statistically significant difference in the benefits for the EG compared to the CG, in the parameters of specific motor abilities with a statistical significance r=0.000 and the size of the impact. Based on these research results, it can be concluded that a specific exercise program conducted within twelve-week training of specifically dosed sports activities has significantly contributed the development of specific motor skills for football and basketball.
