This paper presents an innovative methodology in the emotional education field, La Granja, which was developed during a summer camp celebrated in 2017 in Santa María de Palautordera (Barcelona-Spain). It is a non-formal education experience proposed to promote learning from the emotions and experiences. The main goal is to assess the effect of this method on 127 children, between 8 and 14 years of age, in terms of improving their emotional competencies, as well as their perception of the usefulness of what they have learned. It follows a pragmatic paradigm that combines data collected by different approaches. It includes the application of the Emotional Development Questionnaire (CDE-9-13 and CDE-SEC, of the GROP) before and at the end of the summer camp, plus the ad hoc survey with open questions as post-test. In the global emotional competence, as well as its five dimensions: awareness, emotional regulation, emotional autonomy, social competencies, and life and wellbeing competencies, the scores increase, after their participation in the summer camp. These differences were significant in all cases except in the last dimension. According to the lexicometric analysis and the content of the open questions, there are coincidences between both quantitative observations and the meaning given to the experience in terms of emotional competencies. The most relevant discussion and conclusions are based on the importance of reflection as a learning enhancer, the duration and intensity of the interventions and the alignment of all the resources used that interact synergistically around the achievement of the objectives, topics broadly included in the scientific literature.

Abstract: This research assessed the effects of a gamified project on anxiety about failure in Physical Education, perceiving the possible causes through the impressions of the students. 143 students from 5th and 6th grade participated. A pre-experimental, pre-test, post-test single-group, quantitative-qualitative design was followed. The Anxiety and Stress subscale was administered before the Failure of the Motivation Test of Achievement for Learning in Physical Education and open questions were used after the experience (version validated by Ruiz-Pérez et al. (2015) of the Achievement Motivation in Physical Education Test, AMPET, by Nishida (1988)) and an ad hoc questionnaire with four open questions. The quantitative data showed that anxiety decreased significantly after the intervention. The qualitative results revealed positive aspects that could promote said decrease: passing tests, cooperative work, enjoyment of the elements of gamification, personal improvement, learning and improvement of curricular aspects. However, other negative aspects were also recognized, such as resistance work and stable groups, which suggests some aspects of improvement in this gamified approach.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of participation in a 1-week summer camp on thehopelessness and self-esteem of the university students attending Sport Sciences Faculty. Participants were 36university students assigned to experiment group using a random procedure. Coopersmith Self-esteem and Beck Hopelessness Scales were completed at the beginning and end of the summer camp by designed the university. The obtained data were analysed in the SPSS 18.0 program and the significance level was taken as 0.05. The descriptive statistics, independent simple t test, paired simple t test and Pearson correlation were used for analyse the data in the study. According to the results of the research, no significant difference was observed in the comparison of the hopelessness and self-esteem levels between pre and post-test. In addition, there was a significant difference in the hopelessness level of male and female students but any significant difference was not observed in terms of self-esteem. There was a significant relationship between hopelessness and self-esteem pre and post-test. These result shows that a 1-week summer camp cannot change the hopelessness or self-esteem level. However, as the self-esteem rises, the rate of despair decreases whereas as the despair rises, the selfesteem decreases.

Social and emotional difficulties are common during the kindergarten stage, the changes between family and school environment leave the child at risk of a range of emotional and social problems at that point. This pressure confronts the child's weak ability at that age, linguistically, to express his feelings and thoughts in a clear and understandable manner, as well as the beginning of his ability to control and organize his feelings and behaviors. All this constitutes factors that make the child's adaptation process on the emotional, social and cognitive level difficult during the kindergarten stage. While many studies confirm that the child is an emotional and social being par excellence, and while educational programs emphasize in most of their content on cognitive learning, the child's needs, personality and sentiments are ignored, hence the question raised about the role of emotional competencies in establishing other competencies? Since the kindergarten stage by its nature requires that the child learn to adapt to the environment and establish healthy relationships, our paper aims to study the relationship between emotional competencies (Self-awareness and Self-regulation*) and their indicators and social competencies (Social awareness and Relationships skills*) and their indicators and determine the mutual impact between them. As a tool for this study we used SEAM scale to measure emotional and social competencies to measure the relationship between emotional variables as an independent variable to see its effect on the dependent variable, which is in our study social competencies. Using the inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient and simple linear regression coefficient) to measure the relationship between two variables, results demonstrated that there is a positive semantic relationship confirms that emotional competencies and their determinants are highly influential competencies that establish social competencies and their determinants at preschool age. Participant were 191 children, aged 4 to 6 years old at the time initial assessment, in kindergarten, within the group of schools relied to the Moroccan Foundation for promoting preschool education.

Cases of violence against children in the form of physical, psychological, or sexual violence has been increasing in Indonesia, particularly violence cases that occur at school. Teacher candidates’ level of knowledge on violence against children (bullying) at school was only in the “sufficient” category. In addition, nowadays, children games that contain local contents and values such as cooperation, sportsmanship, and companionship has been abandoned by children. This study aimed to produce a product from the development of child-friendly educative game model that promote prevention of violence against children, particularly at school. This study used Level 1 Research and Development (R & D) method because it only achieved the fourth stage, namely Main Model Revision. The produced “anti-violence against children snake and ladder game” was an educative game product from which children could learn about the value of anti-violence and anti-bullying in school through games. The snake and ladder game was accompanied by game instruction, picture concept, and message regarding implementation of anti-violence and anti-bullying efforts at school, which was adjusted for children. The resulting game product was designed to integrate all elements present in formal education on anti-violence and anti-bullying efforts. The average pretest results was 18 and the average post-test results was 45. It can be concluded that “anti-violence against children snake and ladder” game model could increase knowledge by 150%.

This article presents the results from a study into international humanitarian service-learning experiences on young adult volunteers. Specifically, the service-learning experiences of emerging adults who had served in orphanages in Latin America were assessed, in a pre- and post-test design, for their development in areas of social competency such as identity, self-efficacy, self-esteem and ethnocentric attitudes. A mixed-methods design using both qualitative and quantitative measures was used. Both qualitative and quantitative results identified significant and important impacts on the development of the social competencies of these emerging adults. In addition, several qualitative themes illustrated that longer term international service-learning experiences have a profound impact on the social competence of emerging adults. Keywords: International humanitarian service, service-learning, emerging adult competency

Latest studies point out the importance of emotional competencies in young people’s education. Music is closely linked to people’s personal development and the evidence suggests that there are differences in young people who participate in group music-making activities and young people who do not. In the present study we analysed the socioemotional profile of sample of Spanish adolescent musicians who sang in choirs or played in bands. A total of 660 adolescent musicians and 655 non-musicians participated in the study, which evaluated emotional competencies, life satisfaction, motivation to study and capacity of leadership. At the same time, an ad hoc questionnaire was also administered to the musicians to obtain their academic musical profile. The results of the study show statistically significant differences between musicians and non-musicians in all measured variables, and suggest that, in line with previous research, belonging to a musical ensemble, such as choirs and bands, is related with the development of many skills as well as self-perception. Furthermore, it promotes the development of socioemotional competencies, motivation and leadership.

After more than ten years of democracy in South Africa, many of the previously disadvantaged segments of the community, especially Blacks, would have hoped that a new economic order would have been created. Instead, South Africa still has very high unemployment and even young Black South Africans with a degree are not guaranteed a job. The purpose of this research was to ascertain whether a traditional first-year university business management course with an entrepreneurial component can contribute to the entrepreneurial orientation of students. The major features of entrepreneurs and innovators are knowledge, skills and attitudes. While the imparting of knowledge and the development of skills development receive, respectively, thorough and sketchy attention in formal education, attitude is hardly addressed. The need for achievement, innovation, locus of control and self-esteem are the variables of attitude that have been most commonly used in research on business motivation and the entrepreneur. To determine the success of an enterprise education course, therefore, the change in attitude of the students can be used as a measure. The instrument that was used to gauge the entrepreneurial attitude orientation of the students was an adaptation of an Entrepreneurial Attitude Orientation (EAO) scale. The authors tested 463 students using a pre-test and post-test approach, incorporating an experimental group and a control group. The results of this study do not augur well for the improvement of the entrepreneurial orientation of students.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the school counselors' perspective on how the schools respond to diversity in Primary Education (PE) and Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE) in order to identify differences and analyze strengths and weaknesses according to educational stages. A descriptive study has been conducted through a survey. Different instruments have been applied for data collection: an "ad hoc" questionnaire, which includes aspects related to sociodemographic variables, issues related to the context of the schools, a Likert scale composed of 43 items that aims to evaluate diversity (measures of attention to diversity) in the schools and a set of open questions to know which aspects favor and hinder the real application of the measures of attention to the diversity and the proposals of improvement. The research involved 143 school counselors from the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias. The results show a slight positive average valuation of diversity, although with a wide margin of improvement. The comparison between the stages shows that there are significant differences in the overall assessment and elements related to attitudes, teacher training, organization and contextualization of the schools’ documents to address diversity. These assessments reach higher average scores in the CSE stage and teachers perceive more strenghts at this stage than in Primary Education stage.

The aim of this paper is to propose a new and updated description of a manuscript named Conventi soppressi C.VII.1170, which hands down a Latin version of Marco Polo’s Milion made by Francesco Pipino of Bologna OP. The Conventi soppressi manuscript is a significant witness of the text for its antiquity, the elegance of its making, and the authority of its production. The codicological analysis allows to clarify numerous doubts (or to address several open questions) about the manufacture of the manuscript and the meaning of the iconography. Furthermore, it allows to discover new palaeographic elements that identify a rewriting intervention. Therefore, the set of features related to the making of the manuscript suggests an overview about the social and historical context of its production, where the consideration of a book as an object is related to its practical function.
