The aim of this study is to determine the internal and external validity of measuring the range of motion of top players during a match measured using Software System Tracking Motion BIOIRC. The research was conducted on a sample of 63 players, who were recorded during 11 official matches from the following clubs or national teams: Red Star F.C. Belgrade; Radnicki 1923 F. C. Kragujevac; Partizan F. C. Belgrade; Bordoaux F. C. Bordoaux; senior national teams of Serbia and the National Team of Belgium. The variables provide estimates of the variability of the movement of top players during the game, followed by the software system Tracking motion (BioIRC, Kragujevac, Serbia). The parameters of the movement structure were analyzed by a descriptive statistical method, and the reliability of the monitored variables was examined using linear regression analysis. Based on the obtained results of player movement during the analyzed matches, it can be concluded that the internal and external validity of the range of player movement during the first and second half of the match is very high, both at the level of the whole team and the team lines.

Purpose: To investigate the relationship between sleep quality and quantity and injuries in elite soccer players and to compare sleep–wake variables and injury characteristics. Methods: The current investigation was a prospective cohort study of 23 elite male soccer players competing for 2 teams over 6 mo in the highest-level Brazilian competition. The players’ sleep behavior was monitored for 10 d in the preseason using self-reporting sleep diaries and wrist activity monitors to determine sleep duration and quality. Furthermore, injuries were recorded by the respective club’s medical teams into a specific database. Details of injuries recorded included the type, location, and severity of each injury. The results were expressed as descriptive statistics, and the significance level was set at 5%. The Mann–Whitney U test was performed to compare the sleep variables between groups. Spearman correlation coefficient and linear-regression analysis were used. Results: The results indicated a moderate negative correlation between sleep efficiency and particular injury characteristics, including absence time, injury severity, and amount of injuries. The linear-regression analysis indicated that 44% of the total variance in the number of injuries can be explained by sleep efficiency, 24% of the total variance in the absence time after injury (days) can be explained by sleep efficiency, and 47% of the total variance in the injury severity can be explained by sleep efficiency. Conclusions: Soccer players who exhibit lower sleep quality or nonrestorative sleep show associations with increased number and severity of musculoskeletal injuries.

Abstract: Electrical conductivity (EC) stands out among vigor tests because of its capability of detecting damage in seeds in the initial stage, since EC is related to disorganization of the cell membrane. The aim of this paper was to study use of the EC test as an alternative for vigor evaluation in soybean seeds, verifying its relationship to different vigor tests and thus suggesting values and the range of values of electrical conductivity that indicate the performance potential of a seed lot in the field. Eleven seed lots from each of four soybean cultivars were used for this study. The moisture level was determined and the following tests were performed: electrical conductivity, germination, tetrazolium, accelerated aging, first germination count, seedling vigor classification and emergence of seedlings in the field and in sand. The EC test had a significant and negative correlation (p < 0.01) with all the tests performed. Linear regression analysis allowed separation of the seed lots into classifications of very high vigor (EC ≤ 70 μS.cm-1.g-1), high vigor (EC from 71 to 90 μS.cm-1.g-1), medium vigor (EC from 91 to 110 μS.cm-1.g-1) and low vigor (EC ≥ 111 μS.cm-1.g-1).

The quality of water was seen from the macrozoobenthos community analysis that lives in it. The purpose of this research is to know the relation N-total and C-organic in sediment with macrozoobenthos in Payung Island of Banyuasin Regency. This research uses purposive sampling method. Sampling and macrozoobenthic samples using Ekman grab. The types of macrozoobenthos found to consist of Bivalvia class (Nassarius distortus, Abra Soyae), Gastropoda (Septaria linatea, Epitonium pallasi), Polychaeta (Nereis sp) and Oligochaeta (Lumbriculus sp). The dominant macrozoobenthos composition is Nereis sp. The C-organic content in the waters sediments of Payung Island ranged from 10.52 to 17.92% (moderate to high criteria) and N-total ranged from 0.61 to 1.14% (high and very high criteria), C/N ratio ranged from 10 to 29. This indicates that sediment of Payung Island had undergone balance mineralization process and immobilization. The results of linear regression analysis show that C-organic and N-total have a positive relationship with the abundance of macrozoobenthos Kualitas suatu perairan dapat dilihat dari analisa komunitas makrozoobentos yang hidup di dalamnya.

Sometimes programs, for multivariate statistical procedures are included into expert systems. The requirements of accuracy, exactness and reliability for such programs are very high. In this paper a new method for testing algorithms and programs of multivariate statistical procedures—the so-called “exact samples method” is introduced. The programs of simple linear regression analysis from four most popular standard packages are tested and compared with the help of the new method.

Decision-making is a central skill of basketball players intending to excel individually and contribute to their teams’ success. The assessment of such skills is particularly challenging in complex team sports. To address this challenge, this study aimed to conceptualize a reliable and valid video-based decision-making assessment in youth basketball. The study sample comprised youth basketball players of the German U16 national team (n = 17; MAge = 16.01 ± 0.25 years) and students of a sports class (n = 17; MAge = 15.73 ± 0.35 years). Diagnostic validity was tested by determination of the performance levels according to response accuracy as well as response time in the assessment. External validity was examined by investigation of the correlation between the diagnostic results of the elite athletes and their real game performance data associated with passing skills. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the diagnostic results discriminate between performance levels (χ2(2) = 20.39, p < 0.001, Nagelkerke’s R2 = 0.60). Multiple regression analysis demonstrated a positive relationship between the diagnostic results and assists (F(2,10) = 4.82, p < 0.05; R2 = 0.49) as well as turnovers per game (F(2,10) = 5.23, p < 0.05; R2 = 0.51). However, no relationship was detected regarding the assist-turnover ratio. Further, response time discriminated within the elite athletes’ performance data but not between performance levels while for response accuracy the opposite is the case. The results confirm the diagnostic and external validity of the assessment and indicate its applicability to investigate decision-making skills in youth basketball.
