Many Researchers have written on the SMEs and Entrepreneurship in the past but failed to distinguish clearly the difference between the two concepts, thereby leaving a gap in literature. This study attempts to bridge his gap. The study identified the difference between entrepreneurship and Small/Medium Enterprises (SMEs), clarified the erroneous practice of using both words interchangeably by Researchers/Practitioners, categorized the supporting agencies and climaxes their contributions and limitations with suggestions for future considerations. In examining their contributions, a sample population of 1200 stakeholders was purposely selected in the state of Osun, Nigeria. Overall findings revealed that Agencies’ impacts have been minimal due to the high rate of corruption, bureaucracy and inability to separate entrepreneurial SMEs from non-entrepreneurial SMEs, These Agencies fall within the intermediate environment of businesses, categorized as participatory, facilitating & regulatory and are public sectors dominated with low entrepreneurship orientation. The study averred that Agencies/government officials should be more entrepreneurial by promoting auxiliary marketing systems for SMEs. It is suggested that having business-minded and entrepreneurial politicians/ leaders would promote SMEs and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

The purpose of this study was to examine green practices implemented among fashion manufacturers and identify factors that drive the adoption of those practices, specifically focusing on a company’s cultural innovativeness and the perceived benefits of green innovations. An online survey was created containing both open-ended and multiple-choice questions using Likert scales. Data were gathered from 29 fashion manufacturers that were identified by the Google search engine and then approached. Qualitative data were analyzed to obtain insights into fashion manufacturers’ green practices and a cluster analysis was conducted to categorize companies into distinct groups based on their level of green product innovations and green process innovations. Our findings suggest that the adoption of green practices was related to a company’s internal characteristics such as cultural innovativeness and social responsibility perceptions. Perceived benefits from green practices were not a sufficient motivator for adopting those practices. It is important to examine manufacturers’ perceptions of becoming more involved in green practices because they have great potential to make a positive impact on the mainstream industry and appeal to a wider market audience.

Abstract This paper examines the possible changes from the new definition of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Manufacturing and Services sector using NSS 73rd round data and Annual Survey of Industry (ASI). The paper further analyses the nature of registered/unregistered enterprises in MSMEs. Analysis reveals that 16.1 percent (3.2 million), 38 percent (16.6 million), and 31.2 percent (19.8 million) enterprises are registered in manufacturing, services, and whole economy respectively. It is worthy to note that share of unregistered enterprises in overall loan taken by the enterprises is only 2 percent, the remaining 98 percent of loan has been provided to registered enterprises. Registered enterprises easily access the loan from the formal channels while unregistered enterprises face problems in accessing loan from the formal channels. The regression result shows that the number of skilled workers, the firm’s registration, modernization, and environmental monitor variables have a positive impact on the MSMEs output value. The large enterprises need to make structural changes with focus on generating employment at a larger scale in order to take advantage of the recent trade war between China and other developing countries. There is a simultaneous scope to promote larger enterprises with MSMEs.
