In addition to the series dedicated to traditional architecture, through this study aims to present the way in which the households from Stănești, Straja, Șuici, Șurdești and Tilișca are represented at philatelic level. In this approach, stamps, semi-illustrated and illustrated postcards, maximum postcards and other philatelic effects were used. All this was identified, indexed, analyzed, and described in terms of information provided by philatelic catalogs and sites with dedicated content (such as Colnect®, Delcampe®, PicClick®, and StampWorld®). Following the analysis of the identified pieces, it can be concluded that the respective areas (Stănești, Straja, Șuici, Șurdești and Tilișca) are well delimited from a philatelic point of view, both the exterior and the interior are very carefully represented.

AbstractThis paper deals with the problem of how inherent verb meanings are to be assessed in a synchronic theory of verb valency, given that verbs usually occur in different syntactic patterns and display considerable semantic variation. Moreover, in a recent paper, Fischer (2003) claims that valency is essentially “indeterminate”, because the way verbs build up constructions is subject to various interpretations by different speakers. In the present paper, the variability problem is approached from the point of view of “functional syntax”, a non-generative and non-cognitive theory of grammar developed by Eugenio Coseriu. The paper focuses on the question whether indeterminacy not only holds for valency, but for verb meanings as well. The empirical account is based on a case study of a set of sentences in which the German verb

AbstractHousing is a widespread and complex issue with a variety of dimensions. First, housing was considered as a physical location and as a shelter and basic necessity of the households, but today the concept of dwelling as the place that provides all the services and facilities necessary for a better life of the family has been created. One of the issues discussed at many conferences and in general in the scientific community is the definition of sustainability in the psychological point of view, along with the ways to introduce this concept into the architecture and human habitat environments. This research first begins with the main question about how the concept of sustainability can be found within the scope of housing. Then existing resources search is done and accessible projects are analyzed and the weaknesses and strengths of traditional architecture and contemporary architecture are compared. Finally, the relationship between the definitions of three concepts: dwelling, sustainable design and traditional Iranian architecture was discussed. At the end, the sustainable design that is also appropriate to the Iranian culture was presented.

Abstract. It has been noticed that research is increasingly focused on exploring opportunities to use environmental devices of traditional origin to create more sustainable contemporary buildings. Unfortunately, this “neo-traditional trend” (Abdelsalam et al., 2013) is hindered by the performance of vernacular solutions, which are unable to meet the new needs of contemporary society. Advocates of this ideology believe that this situation is due to a lack of knowledge of these vernacular devices. From this point of view, this paper aims to establish a better knowledge of them for the purpose of improving their performance within contemporary buildings. Thus, it presents a comparison study between the traditional architecture represented by the Algiers Kasbah house and the M’zab valley house in Algeria. The choice of the case studies was made in light of the fact that notwithstanding the very opposite environmental contexts of each case study, they belong to the same typology of traditional houses called “house with wast ed dar”. In fact, they share several similar environmental features such as the patio and the terrace. Even though initially there appear to be many similarities, some aspects of these devices vary from one environmental context to another. Therefore, this paper investigates the urban layout in which the houses are built as well as the principles of design and building materials in order to explore the impact of the physical and climatic conditions, referred to in this article as the “geo-climatic environment”, on the environmental devices developed by each house. It compares the performance of these devices and how they respond to their geo-climatic environment in order to better understand their functioning mode which is the key of their successful adaptation to each environmental context and which could be the key to any future use of these vernacular devices in contemporary buildings.

This aims to review and analyze the Jordanian experiment in the developmental regional planning field within the decentralized managerial methods, which is considered one of the primary basic provisions for applying and success of this kind of planning. The study shoed that Jordan has passed important steps in the way for implanting the decentralized administration, but these steps are still not enough to established the effective and active regional planning. The study reveled that there are many problems facing the decentralized regional planning in Jordan, despite of the clear goals that this planning is trying to achieve. These problems have resulted from the existing relationship between the decentralized administration process’ dimensions from one side, and between its levels which ranged from weak to medium decentralization from the other side, In spite of the official trends aiming at applying more of the decentralized administrative policies, still high portion of these procedures are theoretical, did not yet find a way to reality. Because any progress or success at the level of applying the decentralized administrative policies doubtless means greater effectiveness and influence on the development regional planning in life of the residents in the kingdom’s different regions. So, it is important to go a head in applying more steps and decentralized administrative procedures, gradually and continuously to guarantee the control over any negative effects that might result from Appling this kind of systems.   © 2018 JASET, International Scholars and Researchers Association
