Data on trematodes (Trematoda) of the Siberian Cipmunk (Tamias sibiricus) in Magadan Oblast are presented. Four trematode species of the two families (Plagiorchiidae Lühe, 1901 (Plagiorchis vespertilionis (Müller, 1780); Pl. elegans (Rudolphi, 1802), Pl. eutamiatis (Schulz, 1932), and Brachylaimidae Goyeux et Folay, 1930 (Brachylaima recurva (Dujardin, 1845)) are identified. An illustrated description of all the four species of trematodes, first noted in the Chipmunk in the North-East of Russia, is given.

The results of seismic monitoring of the Magadan oblast, the Chukotka Autonomous okrug, and the shelves of the adjacent seas (Okhotsk, Chukchi, Bering, and East Siberian seas) are considered. There were 14 seismic stations working in the region. The new station “Gadlya” was opened on the Okhotsk sea coast. The catalog includes information about 290 earthquakes with energy classes KR=4.4–12.6. As usual, most of them (93 %) are localized in the Kolyma region. The total seismic energy released within the region’s borders was ΣЕ=4.6341012 J. According to the earthquake energy completeness map Кmin built for the region, minimal energy level of earthquakes, Кmin=5.0, is provided at two areas near the Susuman and Magadan stations. The station network can register without omissions the earthquakes with Kmin≥8 at the Okhotsk sea and Kolyma areas, with Kmin≥10.6 in the Chukotka area. In 2015 three earthquakes with intensities I=2–4 by MSK-64 scale were felt in settlements of North East of Russia. The 2015 strongest earthquake occurred on June 1 at 10h53m with KR=12.6 (MPSP=4.9), h=31 km in the Kolyma area. A maximum shaking intensity of I=4 was observed in Omsukchan settlement (∆=132 km). In March 2015 a swarm of 29 weak earthquakes with KR=6.2–9.8 occurred northeast of Talaya settlement. Epicenters of Kolyma area earthquakes were plotted on the tectonic zoning map of the Magadan region. Most earthquakes are confined to the main deep faults oriented in the northeastern and sublatitudinal directions. All hypocenters are located within the Earth's crust. The seismicity level of the North-East of Russia in 2015 according to the “SOUS09” scale was assessed as "background average" for the observation period from 1968 to 2015. Spatially, all earthquakes in the North-East of Russia are traditionally concentrated within the major seismogenic belts – Chersky, North-Okhotsk, and Trans-Beringian.

A child’s body in the contemporary educational process with innovative programs and electronic devices, along with insufficient motor activity, against the background of low reserve capacity in the North, experiences the psychoemotional stress. The objective of our study was to investigate the anxiety and attention in elementary school students in the northern cities of Magadan Oblast. The study was conducted on elementary school students (9.9±0.05 years of age) in the regional center of Magadan and the remote town of Magadan Oblast, Susuman. Group I consisted of 108 Magadan school students, whereas Group II included 82 Susuman school students. Methods — we used the methodology of multidimensional assessment of childhood anxiety (MACA). To investigate the function of attention, we used the method of proofreading modified by V.N. Amatuni. Results — the number of anxious children was 42% in Magadan and 26% in Susuman. Magadan children were significantly more anxious than their Susuman peers on five of ten scales: in connection with the evaluation by others (M±SE: p=0.013; Me [Q1; Q3]: p<0.05); in their relationships with teachers (p=0.003; p<0.01); in terms of their learning success (p=0.016; p<0.05); in situations of knowledge testing (p=0.022; p<0.05); and they also exhibited an increase in their autonomic reactivity associated with anxiety (p=0.040; p<0.05). It was revealed as well that the neurodynamic characteristics of attention were better in the group of Susuman children. Conclusion — It can be assumed that elementary school students in small remote towns are less at risk of school maladjustment and are more efficient than their peers living in larger cities, where anxiety is higher, which complicates the learning process.

The global databases of gravity anomalies, currently available to researchers, provide a new informative tool for constructing density models of the deep structure of the earth's crust for individual regions. Currently, there are six models of gravitational anomalies, presented as a series of spherical harmonics up to 2190 degrees, which corresponds to about 10 km on the earth's surface. Different methods of processing terrestrial, marine, aerial, and satellite gravimetric data, available to their authors, determine the differences between these models, both on a global scale and within specific regions. We have performed a comparison of the EGM2008, GECO, EIGEN-6C4, and WGM2012 models with the Gravimag database on the Magadan Oblast territory. The comparison showed that free air anomalies for the EGM2008, GECO, EIGEN-6C4, and WGM2012 models in the selected area almost coincide. Bouguer anomalies of the WGM2012 model can be used in regional density modeling for adjacent regions where there are no conventional ground gravity data; however, within Magadan Oblast the Gravimag database has the best data quality.

The authors consider the problem of applicability and sensitivity of methods of ground geophysics for studying the state of rock massifs in the permafrost zone. Using the example of gold deposits in Magadan Oblast, they study and analize peculiarities of changes in the values of electrical resistivity and induced polarization of soils, depending on their cryogenic state. Sufficiently high efficiency of geophysical methods in distinguishing thawed, seasonally thawed, locally frozen, and permafrost rocks is substantiated. The research results are recommended for optimizing field development processes in various engineering and geological settings.

In this paper, we summarize new data on the chemical and isotopic composition of thermal wa-ters of the Talskoye deposit in the Magadan Oblast. We were the first to obtain the data on the content of stable oxygen (δ18O) and hydrogen (δD) isotopes in thermal and background waters, as well as oxygen (δ18O) and carbon in bicarbonate ion (δ13C), even though this is the largest ex-ploited deposit of low-mineralized alkaline nitric thermal waters in the region. The thermal water is fresh (M = 980 mg/l), alkaline (pH = 8.9), hydrocarbonate-chloride-sulphate sodium with a high content of fluorine (up to 17 mg/l) and silicic acid (up to 152 mg/l). The deposit is fed by atmospheric precipitation; we did not find traces of melting underground ice supply. A sequential scheme for calculating the temperature of a deep reservoir was applied, which allowed the temperature of water formation to be constrained at 108 °C suggesting an input of fluids rich in potassium and sulfate ion.

The list of vascular plants found to date in the areas disturbed by gold mining in the continental part of Magadan oblast has been compiled according to the original and published data. In total, 241 species of vascular plants grow at the gold-mining dumps in Tenkinsky, Yagodninsky and Susumansky districts. The range of leading families in flora of technogenic landscapes is characteristic for boreal flora. Some endemic (Oxytropis vasskovskyi) and rare (Scirpus tabernaemontani, Salix pyrolifolia) species grow in the dumps. We identified 44 plant species that can be used for gold mining dumps recultivation in Magadan Oblast.
