AbstractThe introduction of Big Data Analytics (BDA) in healthcare will allow to use new technologies both in treatment of patients and health management. The paper aims at analyzing the possibilities of using Big Data Analytics in healthcare. The research is based on a critical analysis of the literature, as well as the presentation of selected results of direct research on the use of Big Data Analytics in medical facilities. The direct research was carried out based on research questionnaire and conducted on a sample of 217 medical facilities in Poland. Literature studies have shown that the use of Big Data Analytics can bring many benefits to medical facilities, while direct research has shown that medical facilities in Poland are moving towards data-based healthcare because they use structured and unstructured data, reach for analytics in the administrative, business and clinical area. The research positively confirmed that medical facilities are working on both structural data and unstructured data. The following kinds and sources of data can be distinguished: from databases, transaction data, unstructured content of emails and documents, data from devices and sensors. However, the use of data from social media is lower as in their activity they reach for analytics, not only in the administrative and business but also in the clinical area. It clearly shows that the decisions made in medical facilities are highly data-driven. The results of the study confirm what has been analyzed in the literature that medical facilities are moving towards data-based healthcare, together with its benefits.

Absenteeism is an act of being excessively away from educational institute which is a major indiscipline problem among students globally. Descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. Data was collected by using by self-administered questionnaire from nursing students of 13 nursing colleges offering 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Punjab province of Pakistan after taking care of all the ethical considerations. Systematic random sampling technique was used to select 130 participants from nursing institutes offering 4 year BSN program. Most influential factors for absenteeism identified were ‘not joined nursing studies as per choice’ (mean=3.77), ‘awaking up late for college’ (mean=3.62), ‘impending assignments’ (mean=3.),‘feel bored with certain subjects’ (mean=3.46),‘when teachers teaching skills are not up to mark’ (mean=3.67), ‘Lack of proper guidance in clinical area’ (mean=3.94), ‘shortage of staff in clinical area’ (mean=3.88), ‘Not want to be treated as workforce in clinical area’ (mean=3.82) very exhaustive and rigid or irregular timetable’ (mean=3.81). Nursing student’s absenteeism is interplay of multiple modifiable factors. Hence, necessary steps may be taken to overcome these modifiable factors to improve the quality of nursing education.

Tuberculosis and Human Immunodeficiency Virus are among the top ten causes of death globally. To prevent the spread of these infections, health workers and student nurses should comply to infection prevention and control measures called standard precautions. The aim of this study is to assess compliance of Eswatini university student nurses regarding standard precautions for preventing Tuberculosis and Human Immunodeficiency Virus. A non-experimental quantitative approach was used to conduct a survey on all senior student nurses of Eswatini University using questionnaires. IBM SPSS Statistics version 26 software was used to analyse the data. Results from this study showed that out of the 105 student nurses who were asked only 51.4% (n = 54) said they always used personal protective equipment. However, they did comply well on disposing sharps as 92.4% (n = 97) reported that they always used designated containers. There is a need for close supervision of student nurses in the clinical area. The researcher recommends that clinical facilitator should always accompany student nurses in the clinical area and that preceptors should be exempted from other nursing duties when there are student nurses in the hospitals so that they can mentor the students.

Introduction: Leucorrhoea is an abnormal excessive vaginal discharge often associated with irritation1. This is the most common gynaecological problem that brings the women to gynec out patient. The symptom may be associated with cancer phobia2. It can be symptom of underlying pelvic pathology3. It accounts for more than an estimated of 1/4th genaec patients visits to gynaecologis4. It is one of the common problems that women’s has to face in their lifetime. Sometimes this symptom is so severe that, it over shadows actual disease and women seek the treatment of only this symptom3. Material And Methods: Pre-experimental, one group pre-test post-test research design was adopted. A total of 60 samples were selected using non-probability purposive sampling technique. The tool used for the study comprises of two sections. Section A-Socio-demographic variables such as Age, Religion, Educational status, Type of family, Residential area, Period of work exposure in clinical area, Previous knowledge related to the topic and main source of information. Section B- comprises of online self- structured knowledge questionnaire to assess the knowledge regarding leucorrhoea and its prevention among B.sc nursing 3rd year students which includes 30 questions. Result: The study findings reveled that pre- test score of the majority of students 18 (30%) had average knowledge score whereas 21 (35%) need for improvement in their knowledge level, post-test majority 60 (100%) had good knowledge. Pre-test mean score were 15.5 and SD was 5.7 whereas the post-test mean was 25.83 and SD 1.65. The t-value 3.04, (df.59) which is highly significant and greater than table value 2.0010 at 0.05 level of significance which proves the effectiveness of the planned teaching programme. Chi-square analysis shows significant association between period of work in clinical area and source of information of subjects. Conclusion: The results suggest that supporting, reassuring and educating B.Sc. nursing students and giving information on leucorrhoea and its prevention was effective to increase knowledge and helps them to changes their strategy in self care and are recommended to promote positive attitudes towards personal hygiene.

Abstract A team practice simulation approach to interprofessional education is presented. Participants (79 trainees over 4 years) were assigned to one of six teams representing clinical services for a client with complex clinical needs (medical care, outpatient therapy, dental, nutrition, speech and hearing, leadership). Each student within the team was assigned a specific role (e.g., primary care, policy maker, family member). A critical component of this activity is that each participant adopted the role and perspective of an individual in a different clinical area than their own. In preparation for a live discussion by all participants, each team met to study their assigned clinical roles and to prepare a one-page slide addressing specific questions given only to their team. At the live session, the overall goal was to develop a coherent clinical plan for the client. This is an effective approach for IPE in care of clients across the lifespan.

To assess the level of job satisfaction among registered nurses working in clinical area at Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan. Method: A cross sectional descriptive survey was used to assess the level of job satisfaction among registered nurses. Random sampling technique was used to collect the data. Sample size consists of 102 registered nurses, out of 121, working in clinical area at DHQ Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan. I developed one Likert scale with consisted 30 questions to measure the Level of Job satisfaction among registered Nurses. Computer analysis was done with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 18. Descriptive statistics were taken out depending on the type of variable under study. Result: Study included 102 registered nurses to assess the level of job satisfaction. Results showed that from 102 respondents, 18 (17,65% answers in strongly satisfied category,45 (44.12% answers in satisfied category, 25 (24.51%) answers in neutral category, 08 (7.83%) answers in dissatisfied category and 06 (5.89%) answers in strongly dissatisfied category. It is evident that the corresponding falls in the category of strongly satisfied and satisfied 61.77%, which is comparatively greater than remaining categories. Furthermore, it is also submitted that the frequency of such outcome decreases vertically indicating that the scale is adjusted for convince, otherwise it can be integrated to 70% to 80%, it means that overall sample size is ranging strongly valid the result. Discussion: Nurses are not fully satisfied with their work. When the workload of Nurses increase then the level of Job satisfaction decreases because both are against each other.

Background With greater numbers of midwives being trained to counteract the predicted shortages, it seems that it is now more vital than ever to explore how newly qualified midwives (NQMs) describe their experiences in the clinical environment, the support they have received, and identify barriers to their development during the transition period. Aim The aim of this study was to explore NQMs experiences of working clinically during the transition from student to qualified midwife. Method Using a qualitative approach, eight NQMs participated in semi-structured interviews. Findings The findings revealed four key themes that sum up the NQMs experiences: expectations and realities of the role; creating conditions for professional growth; the impact of the care environment; and limitations to creating a healthful culture. Conclusions The clearly articulated journey that has been described by the NQMs demonstrated that there is both a need and desire to change, improve and develop the transition period for all new midwives working in clinical practice. Consideration needs to be given to more robust guidance, with some ideas for development, such as support forums for NQMs to meet up on a regular basis; advanced planned rotation with flexibility; a named preceptor/‘buddy’ in each clinical area; and a shared online forum to allow the NQMs to discuss and share experiences, and to signpost to any useful information or learning opportunities available.

The increase in the use of antimicrobials such as colistin for the treatment of infectious diseases has led to the appearance of Aeromonas strains resistant to this drug. However, resistance to colistin not only occurs in the clinical area but has also been determined in Aeromonas isolates from the environment or animals, which has been determined by the detection of mcr genes that confer a resistance mechanism to colistin. The variants mcr-1, mcr-3, and mcr-5 have been detected in the genus Aeromonas in animal, environmental, and human fluids samples. In this article, an overview of the resistance to colistin in Aeromonas is shown, as well as the generalities of this molecule and the recommended methods to determine colistin resistance to be used in some of the genus Aeromonas.

Performance evaluation is vital in the nursing field due to the large numbers of nursing students, and the necessity of skill training as an internship in the field under the supervision of the nurses. Accordingly, this study is aimed at determining the current situation and clinical performance evaluation of nursing students. This is descriptive-analytical research. The study sample contains all nursing students of 7th and 8th semesters with an internship in the field (n=145), who participated in the study by personal consent. Nursing Clinical Performance Evaluation Checklist made by Esmaeili et al. (2013) was used as a research instrument. The questionnaire contains 28 items in 3 domains of the nursing process (12 items), professionalism (9 items), and ethical principles (7 items). The face and content validity of the instrument was confirmed, and the reliability was measured using internal consistency by Cronbach's Alpha (0.92). For the data analysis, SPSS-20 was used. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the data. The results showed that the mean value and standard deviation of performance evaluation of students of 7th and 8th semesters of nursing are obtained at 5±2.03, which is in average level. The highest mean value of performance evaluation was associated with the ethical principles of students (6±2.3), and the lowest mean value was associated with the range of the nursing process (5±2). The mean value of professionalism was 6±2.1. The results obtained from the study showed that the 7th and 8th-semester nursing students were at an average level in terms of performance evaluation.
