This chapter is grounded in scholarly sources and personal narrative, and it concludes with recommended best practices about fostering more socially just higher education environments for college students. Specifically, the author focuses on the development of more equitable inclusion of students with disabilities in curricular and co-curricular leadership development programs. This chapter provides a context of major models of disability over time, a chronological scaffold of dominant student leadership models, and recommendations for educators inside and outside of classroom spaces. The intersection of models of disability and leadership models has not been explored. This chapter fills that gap in the literature.

The aim of the present article was to systematically review international evidence about Islamic-based (a new term we suggest) educational leadership models published in peer-reviewed journals between 1990 and 2021. We conducted a systematic review of the literature by following the steps identified by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). These steps were data source identification, search, data collection, eligibility criteria selection, data selection, and data analysis. They were aimed at enabling us to answer the following research inquiries: (1) What are the existing developments in research on Islamic-based educational leadership and policy? and (2) What are the main themes presented in these studies? Here, the results are presented first in a macro-outlook elucidating the main trends of this research (topical areas, geographical areas, approaches, and methods). The main themes that emerge from the analysis are: (a) policy, reforms, and stakeholders; second, educational leadership models and styles; and third, gender, feminism, and social justice. We share theoretical and methodological conclusions and outlines of some possible future research directions to contribute to inter-faith, equity, and diversity.

This study discussed the renewal of leadership models in Al-Qur'an-based pesantren. Leadership in pesantren has a major influence on its development and existence. Ibn Abbas Islamic Boarding School is interesting to study because it is modern managed. This is a case study to examine in depth the developed leadership model. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and interview, and analyzed using the Miles Huberman triangulation model, so that the results were in the form of abstractions showing their novelty. Pesantren Ibnu Abbas Klaten is led by a director who acted as a manager as well as mufti and kyai. The director supervises three educational units; the pesantren, the santri, and the school unit, which each led by a chief. Even though a director (or Kyai) has full leadership rights, the "syuro-participative" leadership model is implemented in regular meetings every week, and the deliberation results showing the participation of each existing institution. This indicated that the highest forum is at the leadership meeting, not unilaterally by the Kyai.

This article wants to examine how God “embracing pain” as the Father continues to lead meekly even when God's people rebel and hurt His heart. For this reason, this study uses a descriptive qualitative method to describe the topic through words about the main ideas reported and bibliologically it will be examined regarding the "embrace of God's pain" which shows God's fatherhood leadership as written in the books of the prophets. So from these findings, it can finally become one of the leadership models of God's servants today.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model of environmental leadership in profit-oriented companies. The theoretical basis is strategic thinking which includes cognitive psychology, systems thinking, and games theory to realize the triple bottom line-oriented environmental leadership performance. The study used quantitative methods in all 25 Rural Banks in Semarang City from April to May 2021, which involved 339 respondents consisting of commissioners, directors, managers, supervisors, and executives. The empirical data was analyzed using SEM-AMOS. The models consist of SEM 1: ELP = 0.256 LW + 0.288 SI + 0.138 PEB + e1 (R2 = 0.295); PEB = 0.446 LW + 0.094 SI + e2 (R2 = 0.247). The paper is novel because it seeks to contribute to the current debate in the literature about what factors affect the performance of environmental leadership. The other novelty of this research is a comprehensive model consisting of local wisdom, social interest, and pro-environmental behavior to improve environmental leadership performance. Based on this model, there is empirical evidence that environmental leadership performance (ELP) can be improved by increasing the combination of local wisdom (LW), social interest (SI), and pro-environmental behavior (PEB). The study also provides novelty that PEB mediates significantly positive the effect of LW on ELP, but PEB only mediates the effect of SI on ELP positively but not significantly. This study offers practical and theoretical implications, providing recommendations for Rural Banks to implement the environmental leadership models that include local wisdom and social interest, and an empirical confirmation of the environmental leadership model by combining strategic thinking and the triple bottom line for the development of literature and psychological assessment materials. Similarly, this study also provides policy implications. It is useful to evaluate and improve several regulations and leadership standards in Rural Bank to realize sustainable finance and evaluate psychological requirements based on the environmental leadership models.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore professional practice leadership models (PPLMs) within the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) by outlining the PPLMs currently in use, identifying elements of the PPLMs from physiotherapists’ perspectives, and determining key features of PPLMs that enhance physiotherapy (PT) practice. Methods: In this qualitative, cross-sectional study, we used focus groups to explore physiotherapists’ knowledge about their facility’s PPLM, physiotherapists’ role within the PPLM, the impact of professional practice leaders on PT practice, the impact of the PPLM on physiotherapists’ job satisfaction, and the elements of an ideal PPLM. We coded transcripts using qualitative software and followed an inductive data analysis approach to develop themes. Results: We conducted eight focus groups with physiotherapists from six TAHSN facilities (four organizations). Five key features of PPLMs emerged from participants’ perspectives: support network, organizational structure, professional development opportunities, influence of the leader in professional practice, and balance of workloads and accountabilities. Each key feature encompassed a group of interrelated elements – that is, components of the PPLMs that influenced PT practice. Conclusions: Our study is the first to explore elements and key features of the PPLMs used in TAHSN facilities as they relate to PT. We provide five recommendations to enhance PPLMs with respect to the PT profession.
