Abstract Key features of semiconductor lasers and its serially manufacturing technology modernization have greatly expanded of its using at applied studies at last 20 years. But there is set of factors restricting such lasers application in a number of optical-electronic measuring complexes. Particularly in particle image velocimetry (PIV) and laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV) complexes commonly the gas and solid-state lasers is used due to more stability of spectral, energy and polarization characteristics of radiation then semiconductor lasers have. However gradual introduction of the serially manufacturing laser diodes into such systems picking up the pace that certainly characterizes the progress of reaching the required stability of its output laser radiation parameters. In laser measurement systems where medium investigation carried out by analyzing of scattering radiation in it the probe radiation polarization is often important. So the using in such systems the laser diodes as sources of radiation need to be followed by stability monitoring of its polarization characteristics which may be violated both by the outer factors and by natural degradation of inner laser diode structure. This work is devoted to the issues of monitoring the radiation polarization characteristics of the serially manufacturing single-mode laser diodes.

Abstract Bursting development of the technological base of semiconductor quantum electronics determined the width of the domain for use of semiconductor lasers in optical-electronic measuring systems based on the optical methods of stream research. In order to improve the accuracy of such systems, it is proposed to use a simple technique for optimizing the supply mode of a single-mode laser diode, based on an analysis of the current dependence of its integral spectral parameter. It is shown that the optimal value of the pumping current appears when the radiation spectrum envelope line tends to match the normalized Gaussian curve within the width of the spectral line.

Purpose. The application of geodetic measuring systems and geodetic software in creating a planned geodetic basis for establishing the boundaries of the settlement or expanding its boundaries requires a modern cartographic basis in digital form and created a master plan. Methodology. This is achieved through geodetic measurements and computer processing of their results. GIS technologies and remote sensing in this case help to solve the problem quickly, accurately, efficiently and with the least time and money. Old cartographic materials, according to which geodetic surveys were carried out and which served as a basis for obsolete, do not meet modern requirements for the creation of cartographic products. Therefore, there is a need to update cartographic materials in new digital formats and enter in the created database of the State Land and Urban Cadastre, ie to fill the state cadastral system with information layers. The created information layers of the Public cadastral map and the Digitals software simplify the solution of problems of geodesy, cartography and land management. Entering information into the databases of the State Geocadastre and Urban Cadastre requires the creation of modern digital cartographic materials and electronic documents. DBNs adopted in Ukraine dictate certain requirements for the creation and design of appropriate cartographic materials for the development of Master Plans of settlements. Results. Geodetic surveys were performed on the research territory by electronic measuring systems and the results of measurements in the software were processed. The constructed plan-height substantiation of the territory of the settlement made it possible to create a digital map (model) of the area – CMM in a very short time. Scientific novelty. Such Digital maps are the basis for the creation of various cartographic materials in electronic form and can serve various purposes of the national economy. Such digital maps with the help of GIS technologies can be the filling of electronic resources of different industries and serve to fill different types of information about certain objects, phenomena, ie to monitor the land. Practical significance. The result of the study was the creation of a digital map of the settlement and entry in the databases of the State Land and Urban Cadastre information about the boundaries and structure by developing appropriate urban and land management documentation.

This paper deals with differences between the declared and actually supplied volume of round wood, which can be seen in the sawmill log yards in taking log deliveries. These differences usually mean the losses for the suppliers. Authors focus on the length accuracy of supplied logs. They start with a comprehensive manual checking of log deliveries (2639 logs) and with calibration of electronic measuring equipment (238 logs) made by an accredited laboratory. Authors analyse the origins of the differences, they quantify the volume “voluntarily” given by the suppliers in the form of oversized allowances and the volume of the losses caused by classifying the logs to a lower length group if the necessary allowance lengths are not observed (the volume is counted using e.g. 1 m shorter nominal length). The term “extra allowance” is introduced for allowances longer than wanted, and the dependences among the length of extra allowances, log diameter, volume of extra allowances and number of logs with too short allowance are defined. Losses caused by both of these defects (over- or under-sized logs) are counted and compared. If the log length value is exactly the required one or close to it (it means nominal length and required allowance), the measuring equipment can still measure a lower value because of the required precision of 1 %. Losses are also caused by reclassifying the logs to a lower group. Suppliers cut the logs longer (make “extra allowances”) to ensure that the volume calculation is based on the right nominal length and not shorter. The research shows big differences between particular suppliers and their losses caused by extra allowances or reclassification of logs. The authors searched the optimum allowance in order to minimise the losses of the supplier. The results of the analysis give the following recommendations: for suppliers who do not use harvesters for felling and logging, it would be preferable to supply round timber in tree lengths due to the volume lost by reclassification. Today, however, this is not possible in most cases because large customers buy only logs because of technological reasons. Another aspect is the price, which is usually higher for raw material in logs. In the production of logs, it is preferable to increase the required 2 % allowance by 4-5 cm, if it is possible to produce the logs relatively accurately. If accuracy cannot be maintained, it is preferable to increase the allowance to about 7 cm (e.g. mountainous terrain, poor quality and curved timber, lack of experienced staff).

The article presents the design and manufacture of an electronic measuring system based on an ESP32 microcontroller equipped with LORA E32 wireless data transceivers, a SD card for data recording and a computer with application for photovoltaic panels testing. Under environmental conditions the system has been experimentally tested to determine the efficiency of photovoltaic panels, which depends primarily on solar radiation and ambient parameters. In addition, the current, voltage and surface temperatures on the back side of the panels have been measured. The measuring sensors are selected in order to achieve the goal set, as well the durability of the system. The rising of the surface temperature of the photovoltaic panels have a significant effect on module’s efficiency, increasing the risk of losing energy production. In the experimental study, temperature, solar radiation, current and voltage have been measured to refine the effect on a monocrystalline and polycrystalline structure of photovoltaic panel. The test has been performed on the experimental field of the Technical University of Varna, Bulgaria. Also, the ambient meteorological parameters during the experiment are reported by a weather station mounted on the experimental field, which transmits data online in the global meteorological database Wunderground with name IVARNA50.

AbstractThe assumptions of instrumental methodology for measuring dynamic loads of knitted barrier meshes were defined. A test stand was built, original in terms of both mechanical construction and electronic measuring system, connected to a computer data analysis system. Maximum values of dynamic forces in the mesh fastening strings were determined. The correctness of the strain gauges construction and measurement data transmission systems was confirmed. Tests of multidirectional resistance to dynamic loads in the mesh fastening strings were carried out. The experiment involved dropping a ball with a mass of 5 kg and a diameter of 10 cm, from a height of 1 m and 2 m onto the mesh surface. The potential impact energy equaled Ep1 = 49.05 J and Ep2 = 98.1 J. The tests showed that the highest force values were observed for meshes with square-shaped a-jour structure, and for mesh with diamond-shaped a-jour geometry the force values were lower. A symmetrical forces distribution was observed in all the strings. The highest forces were recorded in the middle strings and the lowest in the outer ones. The conducted tests confirmed the correctness of the adopted constructional solutions of test stand for identification of dynamic stress distribution in mesh fastening strings. The developed method is a useful verification tool for numerical analysis of mechanical properties of barrier meshes.
