The abstract reveal the problem of the prevailing ideas of young people about the leading religious concepts. The aim of the research is to analyze students" verbal representations of religious discourse concepts. To define the leading concepts, we used a structural approach, which the classic components are: behavioral (prayer, sermon, sacraments), emotional-motivational (faith, sin) and cognitive (religion, church, priest). We used free WAT (word association test) for psycholinguistic analysis. The results of the cluster analysis showed that in the minds of young people religious discourse is represented through two main semantic categories, namely faith and the church - the priest.

Abstract For well over a millennium after his death in the fifth century, Attila the Hun was victim to calumnious artistic and verbal representations as the quintessential barbarian and Other. Some historians defamed him a half-human. Others slandered his name by adapting a brief corporeal catalog compiled by Jordanes in the Getica (c. 551), a history of the Goths. Jordanes’ pejorative assessment of Attila’s supposed physical characteristics (arrogant gait and gaze, snub nose, alleged offensive skin pigmentation) served later chroniclers as an explanation for the failures and successes of Attila, helping to influence reader perception. Medieval and early modern representations of Attila call to mind the campaign against Tamerlane in art and print. Here are gathered for the first time several early German versions of the physical features of Attila, as transmitted by Jordanes.

This research purpose to describe the mathematical representation abilities of students based on the Krulik and Rudnick stages in terms of students' AQ. This research type is qualitative descriptive research. The research location is in  SMAN Darussholah Singojuruh with the subjects of class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 7 as many as 30 students. The data collecting methods used test and interview methods, with research instruments, such as Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire, mathematics test questions on linear program material, interview guidelines, and validation sheets. The subjects selected as interview respondents were two students from each level of AQ who had significant differences in ARP scores (scores between AQ Climber, Camper, and Quiter), as well as based on the timeliness and accuracy of students' answers. Based on the test result data analysis and interview data analysis, the following results were obtained, such as 1) Climber students could solve linear program questions based on Krulik and Rudnick stages coherently, and be able to used forms of verbal representations, visual representations, and mathematical expressions properly and correctly; 2) Camper students could solve linear program questions based on Krulik and Rudnick stages coherently but had not been able to use forms of verbal representations, visual representations, and mathematical expressions properly and correctly; 3) Quitter students had not been able to solve linear program questions based on Krulik and Rudnick stages correctly and had not been able to use their verbal representation, visual representation, and mathematical expression skills properly.

ABSTRACT: The relationship between word and image has been researched from different theoretical perspectives. The emblem, as a hybrid textual type, has been approached from the perspectives of iconography and epigraphy in the analysis of the variety of genres derived from the triplex model, like the heavily codified languages of mute emblems and baroque hieroglyphs. The rhetorical procedures and traditions involved in the production and reception of these symbolic machines utilize the exemplum and the allegory, going through the progymnasmata, as the main strategies in the connection of iconic and verbal representations. The purpose of this work is to describe the emblem from a semiotic point of view and explore the relationship between emblematics and the theatres of artificial memory as categories that allow the explanation of the complex interdependence between the visual and the verbal in its mnemotechnical function, where the effectiveness of the repertoire of symbol is built in museums of the imaginary. This takes the visual grammars of semiotics as well as the anthropology of writing as a starting point to propose a generative model of reading.   KEYWORDS: Emblematics; Semiotics; Symbolism; Hieroglyph; Memory.

Presents the specifics of forming self-images in adults with intellectual disabilities. The demonstrated features are related to the narrative manifestations of the Self-the real structure of the personality, contextually meant as a realistic understanding of oneself, evaluation of oneself and one's actions, internal content of attitudes and aspirations in relation to oneself, predictive positions in relation to one's own capabilities and social realities of life. When studying the I-real construct using specially developed techniques and structured conversation, the researcher is able to phenomenologically describe and interpret the existing features through the analysis of verbal representations of diagnostic subjects

Mathematics is a field of science that can improve a person's ability to think logically, critically, rationalistically, effectively, carefully and efficiently. To find out a person's ability to think logically, critically, rationalistically, effectively, carefully and efficiently in solving mathematical problems, an analysis of mathematical representations is needed. Mathematical representation is needed in solving Operations Research problems, because operations research uses a mathematical model as a problem-solving approach. This research discusses the mathematical representation ability of informatics engineering students at Nusantara University PGRI Kediri in solving assignment problems in Operations Research courses. The research method used includes descriptive research with a qualitative research approach. Data were taken directly from the research location using interviews and tests on 3 research subjects, namely students with high, medium and low abilities. The subject selection is based on the results of the dialogue between the researcher and the student's mathematics subject lecturer. Based on the results of research, high-ability students can complete multiple representations both visually, symbolically and verbally. Likewise for the mathematical representation of moderate-capable students is having multiple representations, but there are steps in solving that are missed in verbal representations. Low-ability students only provide visual and verbal representations, while symbolic representations still have errors. However, all three are still lacking in terms of the implementation of the final results

Abstract The present contribution engages with two representative examples of middle-Byzantine ekphraseis, Photios’ description of the Virgin of the Pharos and Leo VI’s account of the church founded by Stylianos Zautzes. It aims at showing how these texts suggest modes of viewing the sacred space and decoration that pose, more than settle, questions about images and pictures, their intended function, significance and impact within their specific cultural frames of reference. Far from being neutral and disengaged, these verbal representations have a specific agenda, which inflects the audience’s perception and interpretation of the decorated church space. Comparisons with coeval monumental evidence are also offered, in order to analyze textual and visual developments in parallel.

This essay introduces a methodological praxis for those seeking a radically ecological approach to excavate relational narratives, experiences, and subjectivities that have been miniaturized through history and habituated practices. Through the progressive use of a MAP methodology (Movement, Art, and Poiesis) that seeks to question the body through movement, artistic expression, and invitation of poiesis, practitioners are encouraged to seek a form of catharsis that promises not release, but social change. The resulting cartographies are verbal representations for approaching an ecological level of understanding of broken, disrupted, and otherwise hegemonically damaged histories of relations.
