With the aggravation of an aging population, the prevalence of chronic heart failure is increasing. As a famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioner in Shaanxi Province, Mingjun Zhao is amicable at using traditional Chinese medicine to treat chronic heart failure. He believes that the pathogenesis of the condition is mainly due to the lack of heart Yang, deficiency of heart Qi, as well as the combination of water and blood stasis. Therefore, in treating this condition, it is essential to warm and nourish heart Yang, replenish Qi to benefit water, and promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis. Based on the standardized treatment used in western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine should be reasonably and accurately combined with it as a drug pair into a prescription, thus highlighting the advantages of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic heart failure to a great extent.

Unintended pregnancy is a situation that every woman may encounter, and medical abortion is the first choice for women, but abortion often brings many sequelae. Angelica sinensis Radix (Danggui) and Leonuri Herba (Yimucao) are widely used in the treatment of gynecological diseases, which can regulate menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, and promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, but the mechanism for the treatment of abortion is not clear. We determined the ability of Danggui and Yimucao herb pair (DY) to regulate the Th1/Th2 paradigm by detecting the level of progesterone in the serum and the expression of T-bet and GATA-3 in the spleen and uterus. Then, we detected the level of metabolites in the serum and enriched multiple metabolic pathways. The arachidonic acid pathway can directly regulate the differentiation of Th1/Th2 cells. This may be one of the potential mechanisms of DY in the treatment of abortion.

To summarize professor Pei’s experience in treating globus hystericus. Methods: Learn from your teacher. Results: Professor Pei had been suffering from the disease for more than 30 years and had her unique views on the treatment of globus hystericus, which are mostly for emotional dysfunction, liver Qi is not comfortable, functioning of Qi is not adjusted, Yin and Yang imbalance. The basic principle of treatment is to grasp the core pathogenesis, take harmony as the method and balance as the duration, harmonize Qi, regulate Yin and Yang, use drugs to disperse the liver and rectify Qi, as well as auxiliary treatment with products to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, dryness and dampness, and clear heat.

Safflower extract is commonly used as a traditional Chinese medicine to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. The antioxidant and anticancer properties of safflower extracts have been extensively studied, but their antiaggregative effects have been less analyzed. We found that safflower extract inhibited human platelet aggregation induced by ADP. In addition, we further analyzed several safflower extract compounds, such as hydroxysafflor yellow A, safflower yellow A, and luteolin, which have the same antiaggregative effect. In addition to analyzing the active components of the safflower extract, we also analyzed their roles in the ADP signaling pathways. Safflower extract can affect the activation of downstream conductors of ADP receptors (such as the production of calcium ions and cAMP), thereby affecting the expression of activated glycoproteins on the platelet membrane and inhibiting platelet aggregation. According to the results of this study, the effect of safflower extract on promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis may be related to its direct inhibition of platelet activation.

Background: Caesalpinia sappan L. is a traditional medicinal plant that is used to promote blood circulation and treat stroke in China. Protosappanin B (PTB) is a unique homoisoflavone compound isolated from Sappan Lignum (the heartwood of Caesalpinia sappan L). In a previous study, the metabolic fate of PTB remained unknown. Objective: To explore whether PTB is extensively metabolized, the metabolites of PTB in bile, plasma, urine, feces, and intestinal bacteria samples in rats were investigated. Method: The biosamples were investigated by ultraperformance liquid chromatography combined with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-TOF-MS/MS) with MetabolitePilot software. Result: 28 metabolites were identified in the biosamples: 18 metabolites in rat bile, 8 in plasma, 20 in feces, 7 in urine and 2 in intestinal bacteria samples. Both phase I and phase II metabolites were observed. Metabolite conversion occurred via 9 proposed pathways: sulfate conjugation, glucuronide conjugation, bis-glucuronide conjugation, glucose conjugation, dehydration, oxidation, hydrolysis, methylation and hydroxymethylene loss. The metabolic pathways differed among biosamples and exhibited different distributions. Among these pathways, the most important were sulfate and glucuronide conjugation. Conclusion: The results showed that the small intestinal and biliary routes play an important role in the clearance and excretion of PTB. The main sites of metabolism in the PTB chemical structure were the phenolic hydroxyl and the side-chains on the eight-element ring.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a musculoskeletal disease that affects many people, this disease causes many complaints including, pain in the legs, knees and various other joints. One of the non-pharmacological measures that can be done to reduce the intensity of pain is warm ginger compresses. Ginger contains essential oils with active ingredients school, gingerol, paradol and zingerone which are warm and can promote blood circulation. This study aims to determine the effect of ginger warm compresses on the reduction in pain intensity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This type of research is a pre-experiment with one group design pre-post test design. This research was conducted in May-2017. The samples in this study were 15 people who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis pain with consecutive sampling data collection techniques. The results showed the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis pain before the warm ginger compress (pre-test) was average with moderate pain intensity. While the intensity of pain after a warm ginger compress (post-test) is average with mild pain intensity. Based on Wilcoxon's alternative paired t-test, p-value 0,000 (<0.05) means that there is a significant influence between the effect of warm ginger compresses on the decrease in pain intensity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It is hoped to further develop several variables and add a long time to the administration of warm ginger compresses in rheumatoid arthritis so that the results of research on ginger warm compresses to reduce pain intensity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis are more optimal and can provide more accurate research results.

Far-infrared fiber can promote blood circulation, accelerate microcirculation and thermal insulation. It also has a very strong effect for health care. In view of these functions, far-infrared fiber has industrialization, and widely used in clothing, bedding. But it has no unified method for far-infrared fiber qualitative analysis. This paper briefly describes the basic content of the Near-infrared Spectroscopy technology.Use Shanghai Lengguang S400 near-infrared quality analyzer , using Near-infrared spectroscopy technology and using PLA method to establish the far-infrared polypropylene qualitative model and the far-infrared polyester qualitative model. This method can rapidly and accurately to do qualitative analysis of far-infrared fiber.
