Literary relations between Poland and Spain are not only the subject of some purely theoretical considerations of this essay, but also a space for creative practice within the literary field, in the sense proposed by Pierre Bourdieu, as a complex network of positions, relations, and rivalries between its participants, individuals, and institutions. The main subject of the article is the process of creating a Polish-Spanish dramatic collage called 'Daughters of the Air. Balladyna’s Dream' (2019) based on Calderon’s and Słowacki’s dramas, grounded in the historical context, from the Polish-Spanish dramaturgical assumptions to the bilingual libretto of the play, which premiered first in Opole and then in Almagro. Such a process of creative rewriting of our classic literature can be compared to the forgotten comedias colaboradas, which were extremely popular in Spain during the Golden Age: those multi-author dramatic adaptations often resulted from a fruitful collaboration between two, three, or even more writers and dramaturges, which nowadays seems somehow more challenging.

Localization is a process of adopting a culture and/or the reflection of a culture, what is true for Odia literature is more or less true for literature from other states also. Globalization, in many subtle ways, devalues the “local” and encourages a homogenization of culture. Here, localization has a role to play in establishing the uniqueness of the “local,” in this instance Odisha or India. Localization assumes vital importance for it establishes a dialogue between language and culture and acquaints communities with other ways of looking at life and experience. Localization is the force that makes it possible to imagine such a map—a map that, when fully sketched, would represent a wonderland of literary riches from diverse languages, all made intelligible to one another. In this paper, to understand the above things along with how the factors of localization components affect cultural ethos, we have adopted the iceberg model of culture and catalyzed it upon an eighteenth-century Odia classic Chatura Binoda, the masterpiece of poet Brajanath Badajena by localizing the same to Hindi language and as a result, determine how the deep-rooted cultural ethos is being loosened irrespective of the knowledge of both language and culture.

There are many ways a writer can express his thoughts and ideas, one of which is by writing a literary work in the form of a geguritan. Balinese purwa (classical) literary works need to be preserved, nurtured and developed, because they contain noble values which are very important, meaning for the life of the people, especially the Balinese. The value theory from Yudibrata is used to reveal the importance of Geguritan Maniguna as a classic literature that records culture from a long period of time and contains various cultural paintings, ideas, ethics, advice, entertainment and including religious life, especially regarding religious values that exist. inside it.

Abstract Nudge plus is a modification of the toolkit of behavioral public policy. It incorporates an element of reflection – the plus – into the delivery of a nudge, either blended in or made proximate. Nudge plus builds on recent work combining heuristics and deliberation. It may be used to design prosocial interventions that help preserve the autonomy of the agent. The argument turns on seminal work on dual systems, which presents a subtler relationship between fast and slow thinking than commonly assumed in the classic literature in behavioral public policy. We review classic and recent work on dual processes to show that a hybrid is more plausible than the default-interventionist or parallel-competitive framework. We define nudge plus, set out what reflection could entail, provide examples, outline causal mechanisms, and draw testable implications.

The article deals with the peculiarities of the existence of the concept «little man», «a person of no importance» in modern Russian cultural space. The author selects two opposite tendencies in understanding the concept that have been outlined in modern art. One of the tendencies shows that the comprehension of the concept in literature, journalism is transferred to the psychological system of co-ordinates that is connected with leveling and oversimplifying national humanistic perception of concept. The other tendency shows that renascence of the concept has emerged in word usage that was set by Russian classic literature in the cinema discourse. This tendency is illustrated by examining A. Zvyagintsev’s films.

AbstractLooking back 50 years at classic literature was a reminder of inspiring discoveries and clever theories that were formative to the field of environmental chemistry, but also of the irreparable costs that persistent global pollutants have had on ecosystems and human society. In my view, these three papers have greatly impacted contemporary science and influenced development of policies that have limited the spread of hazardous contaminants. At the same time, a sobering reality is that reversing decades of past pollution has proven impossible in our lifetime, and global trends are dire for both legacy and emerging contaminants. Lessons in these papers are clear to most environmental scientists, but I argue have not resulted in adequate investment in infrastructure or manpower to enable systematic unbiased searching for pollutants as proposed by Sören Jensen in 1972. Acknowledging that the costs of new global contaminants will be too high, we must incentivize safer chemicals and their sustainable use, increase international exchange of lists of chemicals in commerce, and coordinate international efforts in nontarget screening to identify new contaminants before they circulate the world.

The prose by Leonid Leonov exemplifies the dialogue of the writer with literary and cultural formations of the past. Artistic thinking of the writer is oriented towards the potentiality of discursive combinations, as well as the expression of his authorial position. The object of this research is the novel “Evgenia Ivanovna”, which is structured on the principle of condensation of intertextual references. The subject of this research is the versatile type of narration of the prose writer of the XX century. He implements the plot of the text by means of constructive dialogue with classic literature. Research methodology synthesizes the verges of intertextual, structural, conceptual, hermeneutical, and comparative approaches. Reception of the novel “Evgenia Ivanovna” becomes more complicated with the course of historical time. The philosophy of Leonov’s text consists in relative simplicity. Specificity of the novel lies in finding a compromise solution. The author suggestively intertwines fates of the characters into a single large event, which affects the entire country. The formulated conclusions specify the scale of the persona of Leonid Leonov in literary process of the XX century. This material may be valuable for further research on the specificity of Russian classic literature.

This chapter is a succinct stop for orientation to the concept of complex situations, as the latter are an inherent part of working in health systems. Knowing whether you are in a simple or a complex problem territory and adjusting your approach accordingly is important for decision-makers. The important thing is to be able to recognize these situations. Drawing from the classic literature on the topic, the main features of simple, complicated, and complex situations are described. It is acknowledged that commissioners in health services are often dealing with, or contributing to dealing with complex situations. Addressing this complexity will need to draw on the different perspectives, skills, and experiences that may come from many disciplines and there are often no quick solutions as such. Some practical tips are offered.
