Abstract This research aimed to propose a new concept for a historical area in Jakarta known as Kota Tua Jakarta by delivering a concept of Transit-Oriented Development to enhance the environment’s quality. The idea of TOD itself has been regarded as a perfect solution for a metropolitan city such as Jakarta, which has a relatively large population. As second-year research, this research has been developed from the first-year research that has conducted some ideas from precedent studies of historical areas. Using the eight principles of TOD (cycling, walking, transiting, connecting, shifting, connecting, densifying, and compacting), authors have concluded some results and proposed a design to be implemented within Kota Tua Jakarta. Authors have conducted a qualitative method with observation and mapping analysis to deliver a relevant result. The result will implicate urban planners and architects in providing good design and excellent planning for Indonesia’s historical site and Kota Tua Jakarta, particularly.

Question Answering (QA) has become one of the most significant information retrieval applications. Despite that, most of the question answering system focused to increase the user experience in finding the relevant result. Due to the continuous increase of web content, retrieving the relevant result faces a challenging issue in the Question Answering System (QAS). Thus, an effective Question Classification (QC), and retrieval approach named Bayesian probability and Tanimoto-based Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) are proposed in this research to differentiate the types of questions more efficiently. This research presented an analysis of different types of questions with respect to the grammatical structures. Various patterns are identified from the questions and the RNN classifier is used to classify the questions. The results obtained by the proposed Bayesian probability and Tanimoto-based RNN showed that the syntactic categories related to the domain-specific types of proper nouns, numeral numbers, and the common nouns enable the RNN classifier to reveal better result for different types of questions. However, the proposed approach obtained better performance in terms of precision, recall, and F-measure with the values of 90.14, 86.301, and 90.936 using dataset-2.

The purpose of this article is to understand how hospitality is portrayed in films produced with the support of a program developed by the government in the State of Minas Gerais [Brazil]. The methodology of this qualitative research included a bibliographic study and content analysis of eight films. The results showed the complexity of interpersonal relationships in hospitality. The evaluative aspect that permeates hospitality can occur in different environments, establishing new practices and rituals during the process of receiving-hosting. Domestic hospitality predominates in the films analyzed and it is women who assume the role of hostesses. Another relevant result refers to socially marginalized contexts, in which reception can take place on the doorstep itself. It is concluded that the audiovisual productions analyzed portray several nuances of the hospitality phenomenon present in the Brazilian social imagination.

Abstract Introduction: Research has shown that humans can learn aquatic skills from a very early age. Due to the delicate nature of berries and the reduced shelf-life once washed, producers usually do not wash berries. Therefore, consumers are expected to wash the berries prior to consumption, and this might be a more effective way of infection prevention. However, the efficacy of consumer berry-washing procedures in removing the parasite contaminants from the berries surface has not been investigated. The aim of the present study was, therefore, to compare the efficacy of three different washing techniques in removing parasite contaminants. Three alternatives to washing berries before consumption were compared on berries artificially contaminated with oo/cysts of Cyclospora cayetanensis, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Giardia duodenalis. The results show that simple washing of berries under the cold tap for 1 min could remove on average at least 80% of the parasites, except for C. cayetanensis, which seems to be stickier than both G. duodenalis and C. parvum. The percent removal was slightly lower for raspberries as compared to blueberries. Although the differences are expected, a relevant result of the study is that washing contaminated berries prior to consumption by the consumer removes a considerable proportion of parasites and thereby lowers the risk of ingesting parasites’ transmission stages.

The spread of COVID-19, first in China and then all over the world, has had a major impact on economic and financial systems. In this chapter, the authors focus their analysis on the Chinese stock market since it was the first to be affected with relevant time to react. They use the detrended fluctuation analysis with a sliding windows approach and with minute-based data to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the efficiency of the Chinese stock market. The results show that the Chinese stock market suffered from some kind of turbulence with high levels of dependence, but the market reacted quickly and after that turbulence recovered the efficiency pattern. This is a very relevant result that shows that this particular stock market quickly reacts to turbulent periods, very important information for investors.

The present study proposes an experimental exploration of the Romanian novel written between 1920 and 1940 through the use of stylometry, a method of distant reading employed for the statistical analysis of style. Drawing from the most recent advances in the field of computational stylistics, we select a formal standpoint from which we seek to investigate the relation between the Romanian novelistic canon and minor, tertiary novels published in the same. In our test cases, we will attempt to establish some of the more promising aspects of stylometric analysis, as well as single out the experiments that yield no relevant result. Because of the relative novelty of the method, the purpose of our investigations is to offer a kind of pilot experiment that can illustrate the benefits of using computational methods on Romanian literary corpora.

Search result retrieval was compared across eight research literature databases (AGRICOLA, AGRIS, BIOSIS, CAB Direct, FSTA, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science) for three topics from different agricultural disciplines to compare retrieval results based on searcher experience. Precision, recall, and uniqueness were analyzed by rating search results (~2400 citations) for relevancy. A generalized linear model statistical analysis determined that AGRICOLA ranked highest for precision and was statistically more likely to produce a relevant result than four other databases. CAB and Web of Science ranked highest for recall and both overlapped with AGRICOLA for statistical likelihood of producing a relevant result. Google Scholar retrieved the most unique content, but almost half of that content was not judged relevant. AGRICOLA, BIOSIS and CAB retrieved the most unique and relevant content. This study will help researchers and librarians working in the agricultural disciplines to select the bibliographic databases that will provide the most relevant search results and are most likely to meet their research need. It may also serve as a template for future bibliographic research in other disciplines.

The social force model of pedestrian dynamics is formulated in such a way that (a) most of its parameters do not have an immediate interpretation in the sense that they cannot be measured directly, (b) often one single parameter has an impact on many aspects of walking behavior, and (c) a certain aspect of walking behavior results from the values of more than one parameter. This makes calibration difficult. The aim of this paper is to give practitioners an indication of how to proceed in the calibration process. For this purpose, by analytical transformations the parameters of the social force model are related to real properties that have a clear and immediate meaning and are also highly relevant result properties of a simulation: extent and clearance time of a queue, respectively maximum density, and capacity flow. The theory for this is presented, and thus this study offers a deeper understanding of the model including its theoretical aspects.
