The Ngudi Mratani Farmers Group in Piasa Kulon Village is one of the producers of healthy rice that is cultivated organically, but there are several obstacles in providing fertilizers, biopesticides and marketing the rice produced. The objectives of this activity are 1) providing technology transfer in organic rice cultivation by utilizing rabbit urinee as liquid organic fertilizer (POC) 2) Providing training on the manufacture of Local Micro Organisms (MOL) and biopesticides 3) providing assistance related to marketing organic rice. This activity was carried out in July - August 2017 by KKN-PPM students of Jenderal Soedirman University accompanied by a team of service providers from the Faculty of Agriculture as field supervisors. The method used is Rural Appraisal Participation (PRA), which is the active involvement of all parties involved in activities. The stages of the activity were direct field surveys, interviews, training discussions and mentoring on organic rice cultivation techniques, post-harvest handling and marketing. The results of this activity were an increase in farmer understanding by 35%, farmer skills in making MOL, POC rabbit urinee and vegetable pesticides to support organic rice production by 50%. The existence of attractive post-harvest handling and product packaging that increases the quality and selling power of the organic rice produced.

We draw on rich longitudinal data from one of the largest teacher education programs in Texas to examine the properties of rubric-based observational evaluations of preservice teachers (PSTs) during clinical teaching. Using a variance decomposition approach, we find that little of the variation in observation scores is attributable to actual differences between PSTs. Instead, differences in scores largely reflect differences in the rating standards of field supervisors. Men and PSTs of color receive systematically lower scores, as do PSTs in lower-income and rural placement schools. Finally, higher-scoring PSTs are slightly more likely to become employed as K–12 public school teachers and substantially more likely to be hired at the same school as their clinical teaching placement.

The research aimed to identify the influence of supervisory styles on supervision outcome among undergraduate trainee counsellors. This research was quantitative with correlational research design in order to identify the influence and relationship between independent and dependent variables among trainee counsellors. 100 respondents from two (2) public universities in Malaysia were recruited. Stratified random sampling technique was utilized to select the respondent and proportional stratification was used to determine the sample size of each stratum. Supervisory Styles Inventory (SSI) and Supervisory Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ) was the instrument used in this study. The System Approach to Supervision (SAS) Model become underlying theory in this research. The results of the study were analysed by using Pearson’s product-moment Coefficients and Multiple Regression. Based on the findings, the supervisory styles showed that there was significant relationship with supervision outcome (r= 0.49, p< 0.05). Three of supervisory styles which were attractive (r= 0.48, p< 0.05), interpersonally sensitive (r= 0.48, p< 0.05) and task-oriented (r= 0.42, p< 0.05). The supervisory styles also showed there was significant influence with supervision outcome. Among the three supervisory styles, attractive and interpersonally sensitive was the most influence on supervision outcome (R2=0.23, Adjusted R2=0.22, F(1, 98) = 29.05, p<0.05). The findings of this study perhaps could expand knowledge and understanding on the individual differences to supervision field. Supervisors could examine and reflect upon their styles based on theoretical framework provided and can restructure the styles. Lastly, it also can improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision for both supervisor and supervisee.

The Covid-19 pandemic has provided various changes in all areas of life. Therefore, support is needed from various parties in efforts to prevent and spread Covid-19. One of them is through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata program organized by university and carried out independently by students in their respective neighborhoods. As an intra-curricular program, KKN becomes a bridge in transferring theoretical concepts to practical life in society. Through mentoring carried out with Field Supervisors, students are asked to compile a program of activities that can produce output in the form of educational activities to products. The resulting output is expected to be a step in preventing transmission of Covid-19. The method used is interactive guidance, through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and mentoring between lecturers and students. This is done as part of the consultation and assistance activities so that students who carry out KKN Mandiri can achieve the goals and objectives of the activity.   Besides, the existence of the KKN application called SIKANDO which has been designed by the University is expected to be a monitoring tool during KKN.

Construction field supervisors often exchange stories about how decisions they had made on previous projects have saved a substantial number of man-hours leading to improved profits. They rely on their experience-based knowledge to make day-to-day decisions in the field. The knowledge is mostly tacit in nature which is internalized over the course of experience and when asked, the supervisors are unable to codify or articulate it replicable in words. Many construction firms are incorporating knowledge management practices but still, the tacit dimension is relatively unexplored in the literature. Organizations are seeing the tacit dimension as a great competitive advantage due to its relative immobile nature. Employee retirements and knowledge loss are compelling construction firms to capture these know-hows to prepare the future workforce. The first step towards harnessing tacit knowledge is to identify it in practice. This study posits a tacit knowledge measure and identifies barriers to knowledge sharing through case studies involving specialty contactors. Findings show a clear relation between experience and tacit knowledge acquisition. Lack of time and formal procedures, and managers’ reluctance to change are identified as the key barriers to knowledge sharing. Organizations can implement the proposed methodology framework and instrument to strengthen existing knowledge harnessing strategies.
