The development of the musical culture of the individual remains one of the most important actual problems at the modern stage of the development of pedagogy. Ways to develop the musical culture of modern schoolchildren engaged in institutions of additional education in the class of folk instruments were identified in the course of work, based on the analysis of scientific research in the field of musical culture. However, in scientific and pedagogical literature, insufficient attention is paid to the program for the development of musical culture, which would include all carefully considered components of the educational process and thereby ensure the effectiveness of this process. The article presents a similar program, developed and tested during experimental and practical pedagogical activities in the class of folk instruments. The work also presents indicators and criteria for assessing the formation of musical culture among students of secondary school age in the class of folk instruments.

To improve students’ English proficiency, Indonesian Civil Aviation Institute has placed TOEFL® preparation in the curriculum of study program. Nevertheless, the learning design was not common compared with similar program of TOEFL® preparation in another institution. ICAI put a single teacher in class consisted of 24 students with various skills. Consequently, the English teacher had to employ a strategy to cope with this large multilevel class. This qualitative research was conducted to analyze the teacher’s strategy. Its purpose is to give enlightenment toward the conformity between learning design and learning objectives. A pre-test and post-test were given to a determined class and the grades were compared to see the fulfillment of the objective. An observation and note taking was undertaken during the learning process to explain the strategy. The result shows that the teacher occupy cooperative learning through flexible grouping to cope the class challenge. While the result shows 57% students in the class were able to gain 500 as minimum required score, it has implication in examining the learning design in broader context. Keywords: classroom; multilevel; teacher-students ratio

Looking at collegiate esports, the space is filled with a diverse array of programs growing at different rates and all finding legitimacy and recognition in different ways. However, many programs are faced with a specific tension between the flexibility of a grassroots club and the rigidity of university organization. This chapter will look at one particular program at the University of New Mexico and how it has been navigating its own identity as an affinity space and how its growth into something more may have unintended consequences that should be considered for any similar program. Specifically, the chapter will focus on what it means to be an affinity space, how UNM esports fits into that category, and what gets lost when attempting to integrate with different institutional-level structures.

Using convalescent plasma as immunotherapy is an old method for treatment of infectious diseases. Several countries have recently allowed the use of such therapy for the treatment of COVID-19 patients especially those who are critically ill. A similar program is currently being tested in Egypt. Here, we tested 227 plasma samples from convalescent donors in Egypt for neutralizing antibodies against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) using a microneutralization (MN) assay. A third of the tested samples did not have antibody titers and 58% had titers between 1:10 and 1:80. Only 12% had titers >1:160. We also compared MN assays using different virus concentrations, plaque reduction neutralization (PRNT) assays, and a chemiluminescence assay that measures immunoglobulin G (IgG) binding to N and S proteins of SARS-CoV-2. Our results indicated that a MN assay using 100 TCID50/ml provides comparable results to PRNT and allows for high throughput testing.

ABSTRACTIn the United States, deaccessioning is a poorly understood collections management tool. Archaeologists often view deaccessioning with what Robert Sonderman called “primal fear,” and this fear has caused them to overlook the opportunities that deaccessioned artifacts and collections may provide in the area of public archaeology education. Although deaccessioning without checks and balances can be problematic, when done properly and ethically, it offers previously untapped resources to the creation of educational programming, such as teaching trunk programs. This article discusses the process of deaccessioning and suggests that deaccessioned artifacts may be useful as content for teaching trunk programs. We discuss a case study from our own institution, where we implemented a trunk program in 2016 that was largely stocked with material from a deaccession we had performed the previous year. We also offer suggestions for anyone wishing to implement a similar program.

<div>Ex-migrant workers are often found dealing with the lack of union that could cater their needs. These people that are mostly female are often excluded from the process of decision making in their own villages. In 2013, a program from civil society organization called Desbumi (Desa Peduli Buruh Migran or Migrant Workers Care Village) Initiative was launched in Wonosobo District, with the aim to improve migrant workers’ living conditions - especially female - through empowering female ex-migrant workers group. In 2016, a similar program called Desmigratif (Desa Migran Produktif or Productive Migrants Village) Initiative was spearheaded by the Ministry of Manpower, which shares the same goal with Desbumi Initiative. Building upon the debates surrounding the concept of sisterhood provided by Bell Hooks and Robin Morgan, this study discusses whether the top-down approach in organizing female ex-migrant workers residing in Kuripan, Lipursari, Rogojati, and Sindupaten Village through Desbumi and Desmigratif initiative could result in any forms of sisterhood formed during the implementation of the programs, and challenges that they faced along the way. This study found that characteristics associated with sisterhood of friendships were apparent in all female ex-migrant groups, signified by mutual support among women, shared experience, journey of self-discovery, and collective identity built upon similarities. On the discussion of challenges, several obstacles such as lack of regeneration, women’s domestic burden, and the issue of sustainability appeared along the journey of the sisterhood of ex-migrant workers.</div><div> </div>

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of implementing a counseling program based on the Satir theory to reduce psychological stress among married Syrian refugee  women. A quasi-experimental research design was utilized and 30 Syrian refugee women who visited the International Islamic Organization for International Relief, were recruited from Al Mafrag Governorate. For this research, a survey and a psychological program based on Satir's theory were applied.  The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference in the level of psychological stressors among participants in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, there was a statistically significant difference in the follow-up over time measurement in favor of the experimental group. The study recommends that  more studies are conducted using a similar program but with different variables.
