INTRODUCTION: The industry of temporary prosthetics for dental implantation in the postoperative period at the present stage of the development of dentistry has achieved significant results. However, up to now, there are still cases of insufficient effectiveness of temporary prosthetics, which is expressed in a reduced service life and a violation of the retention of temporary structures, the need for a relatively large number of corrections of their basis, as well as inflammatory and atrophic changes in the mucous membrane of the prosthetic bed and loss of bone tissue in the jaws in the projection of the mechanical pressure of the prosthesis. AIM: To determine the effectiveness of the use of polyetheretherketone for the manufacture of immediate prostheses based on temporary dental implants. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Dental implants in the upper jaw were installed in 76 patients with a diagnosis of full absence of teeth. For temporary rehabilitation for the period of osteointegration, temporary implants were installed in the amount of 2 pieces and temporary removable dentures were made. RESULTS: The use of polyetheretherketone revealed a 25% decrease in dentures breakdowns, an increase in the number of temporary implants viability by 37.5%, and a decrease in bone tissue atrophy by 19% to 22%. CONCLUSIONS: It is advisable to use polyetheretherketone for the manufacture of removable implant dentures.

Background. The problem of restoration the integrity of the dentition after tooth loss remains one of the most problematic dental issues. Мodern dental technologies open a promising direction in its solution, in particular - the method of dental implantation. Objective. The aim of our work was to study the changes that occur in the bone tissue of the mandible after implantation of titanium foam and to determine the effect of shock wave therapy (SWT) on its structure restoration. Methods. The study was performed on 15 adult rabbits aged 6-7 months, weighing 2.5-3 kg. The animals from the experimental groups were implanted with titanium pin, 3 mm long. The pin was implanted under combined anesthesia bilaterally into the body of the mandible. One day after the operation, the animals received SWT 500 pulses with a frequency of 5 Hz and a maximum pressure at the wavefront of 1.2 Bar per implantation site using the device Storz Medical Master Plus MP 100. The animals were removed from the experiment on 15-th day, after which the mandible was disarticulated and radiographically performed. The obtained results were statistically significant. The differences at p<0.05 were considered significant. Results. The results showed that the bone tissue of the jaws during implantation undergoes traumatic injury, the results of which, two weeks after surgery on radiographs we can clearly see a violation of the bone tissue structure and a significant increase in its density. Using the SWT method, we obtained a positive dynamics of bone density after titanium pin implantation and slight Rh-changes in bone structure compared with normal. Conclusion. Аfter implantation with titanium pin the bone density of the rabbit lower jaw body is significantly reduced, X-ray shows the heterogeneity of bone structure, areas of sclerosis are expressed. Shock wave therapy helps to restore the quality of bone tissue, this is confirmed by the fact that the density indicators are close to the norm and X-ray shows some separate small areas of restructuring of bone tissue heterogeneity, mainly due to merging the pattern of the bone trabeculae of the bone cancellous part.

Oral repair membrane guided oral bone regeneration, particularly in dental implants, is a guided regeneration technology for bone tissue. The principle is based on the characteristics of rapid migration of epithelial cells and fibroblasts and slower migration of osteoblasts. Materials are placed in the bone defect, creating a relatively closed environment which is conducive to the growth of bone tissue. In this paper, we have evaluated clinical effects of Hai’ao oral repair membrane as a barrier membrane to guide bone regeneration in implants. For this purpose, certain treatment data are collected through data mining and patient’s names with bone defects in the implantation area are selected. According to the randomness principles, these patients are divided into experimental and control groups and preoperative examinations along with basic periodontal treatments are performed on the selected cases. Furthermore, we have analyzed different effects by comparing treatment conditions. Experimental results, as a technical shielding film, verify that Hai’ao oral repair membrane meets requirements of safety and no immune rejection. It plays a role in promoting bone formation around the implant. Mid-to-long-term follow-up is satisfactory with no related complications. At the same time, it has the advantages of simple operation, reduced patient suffering, convenient transportation and storage, and longer validity period. Compared with the control group in terms of safety evaluation of postoperative vital signs, laboratory examinations, and incision healing, Hai’ao oral repair membrane has no significant difference. Postoperative osteogenesis effect is equivalent to that of the control group and meets requirements of superiority. Hai’ao oral repair membrane is used as a shielding membrane material in implant surgery technology to guide bone regeneration.

The article presents an analysis of lipid peroxidation processes in the oral fluid in patients with dental peri-implantitis during the course of low-intensity infrared laser therapy and low-frequency electrostatic therapy. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the development of inflammatory complications arising in patients with orthopedic constructions on dental implants are characterized by the development of oxidative stress, which disrupts the dynamic balance between pro- and antioxidant systems. The use of physiotherapeutic factors (laser and low-frequency electrotherapy) has a pronounced antioxidant effect, realized on the basis of a potentiating mechanism of interaction of physical factors and aimed at increasing the reserve power of the protective factors of the oral fluid and maintaining oxidative homeostasis in conditions of physiological equilibrium. It has been established that positive shifts in lipid peroxidation parameters closely correlate with index indicators of the clinical state of patients, which convincingly indicates not only the pathogenetic significance of LPO processes in the development of postprotective inflammatory complications during dental implantation, but also the importance of antioxidant potencies of the therapeutic measures in achieving clinical efficacy. The close relationship of the coefficient of stability of a dental implant with LPO products characterizes the destructive participation of lipoperoxide processes in the formation of the morphological basis of osseointegration of implants, and also allows us to consider the parameters of peroxide metabolism and the value of the coefficient of antioxidant protection as informative indicators for monitoring and predicting the stability of intraosseous dental structures

Abstract Predicting thermal response in orthopedic surgery or dental implantation remains a significant challenge. This study aims to find an effective approach for measuring temperature elevation during a bone drilling experiment by analyzing the existing methods. Traditionally thermocouple has frequently been used to predict the bone temperature in the drilling process. However, several experimental studies demonstrate that the invasive method using thermocouple is impractical in medical conditions and preferred the thermal infrared (IR) camera as a non-invasive method. This work proposes a simplified experimental model that uses the thermocouple to determine temperature rise coupled with the thermal image source approach. Furthermore, our new method provides a significant opportunity to calibrate the thermal IR camera by finding out the undetected heat elevation in a workpiece depth.

Abstract Background: Human gingival fibroblasts (hGFs) have key roles in the formation of soft-tissue attachments around dental implants. We added calcium ions (Ca2+) to the surface of titanium plates (TPs) to make it more conducive to the early adhesion and proliferation of hGFs. Methods: Ca2+ was loaded onto the TP surface by a hydrothermal method. The morphology and composition of TP surfaces were determined by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. Proliferation of hGF-1 cells was measured by the CCK-8 assay. Immunofluorescence staining was done to detect adherent proteins on the TP surface. TPs were divided randomly into two groups: control and Ca.Results: In the Ca group, irregular lamellar crystals were found on the surface of TPs; The percentage of hGF-1 cells adhering to TPs in the Ca group was significantly higher than that in control group (P < 0.01); The fluorescence of integrin-β1 and F-actin in the Ca group was stronger than that in the control group. Conclusions: Our data suggest that Ca2+ can be added to TP surfaces by a hydrothermal method, and can enhance hGF adhesion. This property may be beneficial if Ca2+ is added to titanium surfaces before dental implantation.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble secosteroid that plays a significant role in the whole body, including the maxillofacial region. The discovery of its receptors in many cells and organs made it possible to reveal the participation of vitamin D not only in the regulation of calcium phosphate metabolism, but also in immune processes, in providing anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, slowing down cell proliferation and stimulating differentiation. In this literature review, we demonstrate the association between low vitamin D levels and the development of recurrent aphthous stomatitis, the course and response to treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity, the severity of periodontal diseases, and the processes of osseointegration and bone remodeling during dental implantation and guided tissue regeneration. The aim of our article was to demonstate a possible connection between vitamin D level and the oral diseases that can be presented at an oral surgery appointment, which will help clinicians to reduce the risk of early dental implant failure, ensure favorable outcomes of augmentative operations, as well as decrease the destructive effects of severe periodontitis and other conditions throug knowledge and timely lab tests and endocrinologist prescriptions.
