An express analysis of the ecological state of the soil during construction works is proposed. The algorithm is considered, which is the first approximation for describing the quality of the soil mixture, serving to build a system of operational recognition of the component composition of the soil mixture and the percentage of its main components. It is based on the analysis of the forced acoustic emission signal in the frequency domain to obtain the Fourier spectrum. From the general spectrum of the signal, consisting of a set of basic and higher (timbre) harmonics, subspectrs of significant basic harmonics corresponding to certain elements of the soil mixture are distinguished. To isolate the sub-spectra, a sequence of modal harmonics is used. The composition of the set of modal harmonics determines the qualitative composition of the soil in the first approximation.

Results of a study of an actual scientific and technical problem of determining the road safety level on road sections are presented in the paper. The aim of the study is to develop an express method for assessing road safety based on improving the method of the final accident rate by reducing the partial accident rate with the required accuracy of determining the safety level on public roads. The formalization of the relationship between the parameters of road traffic conditions has been carried out to study the level of safety on highways. Latent factors of the parameters of traffic conditions have been obtained on the basis of reduction of their aggregate by the method of principal components, taking into account the relationship of partial accident rates. This condition has allowed to develop analytical models for determining road safety for implementation in the practice of conducting a road safety audit. A method for identifying hazardous areas on highways has been proposed in the paper. It includes 11 parameters of road conditions out of 18 partial accident rates proposed in the prototype and regulatory documents of Ukraine. The adequacy of the model is determined by deviation values of the obtained data according to the prototype model from the values of the relative accident rate, which were 3.22 and 18.61, respectively. The proposed model reduces the deviation value by six times and affects the accuracy of determining the safety level. Experimental studies have been conducted on 79 km of highways (on 385 sectors with constant values of traffic conditions parameters). The results of a comparative analysis of the safety level for the prototype model and the developed model have been identical and shown a decrease in time and labor costs by 1.6 times without loss of accuracy. Thus, the developed methodology is recommended to be applied for determining the potential danger of road sections during an express analysis of the road safety or when conducting a safety audit at various stages of the road life cycle.

A technique for the express analysis of the products of technological processes is described, which was developed using the Raman spectroscopy method. The analysis of the Raman spectra includes the interpretation of the spectral bands, taking into account the values of the characteristic frequencies of the vibrational spectra of organic compounds, as well as the determination of the integral intensities of the corresponding spectral ranges. By example of the real time control procedure for the technological process of monosilane synthesis, the express analysis of tetraethoxysilane, which is a by-product of this technological process, is carried out. Significant advantages of using the express analysis method are demonstrated, which provide control over the normal course of the technological process and obtaining results that allow making adjustments to the process flow diagram in order to optimize it.

Problems. When designing bolted joints (BJ), it is necessary, in particular, to carry out their verification calculations for strength.  At the same time, it is desirable to use express analysis: calculations by simple formulas of sufficient accuracy. For BJ of plates made of layered polymer composite materials (PCM), the problem has not yet been solved. The aim of the study. The task is to test the accuracy of three known formulas for quick calculation of the value of the stress concentration factor (SCF) in zone of contact of bolt-hole with a rigid cylinder (bolt). The study was carried out on contrasting examples of materials and schemes of reinforcement of plates made of PСM, taking into account possible clearance between bolt and hole in the real range: from zero to 1% of diameter. Methodology of implementation. Numerical calculations were made using the finite element method (contact problem) for the BJ of plates made of layered PCM. 3D orthotropy of each monolayer was provided. Three simple formulas of express analysis were tested. The results are summarized in the tables and many illustrations are given. Research results. Numerical estimates of depending of the SCF in zone of the surface of the bolt-hole from considered factors are obtained.  The factors are the material characteristics, the schemes of reinforcement of plates made of layered PСM and the values of the clearance between bolt and hole in the plates, as well as the accuracy of the considered formulas. Conclusions. Changing the material and the scheme of reinforcement of plate made of layered PСM leads to a significant change in the values of maximum stresses and SCF in zone of the bolt-loaded hole in the weakened by hole cross section of a plate. Considered formulas of the express analysis have insufficient accuracy for consideration of contrast properties of materials and schemes of reinforcement of a plate. Changing size of clearance between bolt and hole in the range from zero to 1% of the diameter leads to relatively small changes in SCF: up to 10% maximum. Additional research is needed.

Abstract It was developed the method for determining the strength of material without breaking the test sample. The essence of the method is to determine the strength characteristics of the rock by pressing into the variable cross-section indenter. The practical significance lies in the possibility of performing an express analysis of the strength of rocks on small-sized samples - 3 mm or more, for example, using the particles of landslide cuttings from unstable intervals when drilling wells; there is no need for the preparation of reference material; the simplicity and availability of the equipment used and high accuracy of the results obtained is also important. The developed method has no analogues and is patented in the patent offices of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

An individual process of staining of each trunk occurs as a result of the long-term presence of wood in the river soil without oxygen access. It consists in changing the structure and chemical composition of the wood. There are industrial reserves of this wood on the territory of the Russian Federation, in the floodplains of a number of rivers. One of the most important tasks at the extraction stage is the primary individual quality assessment of the trunk. One of the most effective diagnostic indicators for assessing wood quality can be the number of annual layers in one centimeter. This indicator correlates well with wood density. The purpose of the research is to establish the influence of the macrostructure of natural wood and stained oak wood, changes in the microstructure on its density. It was found that the density of stained oak wood, depending on the number of annual layers in 1 cm, is about 10% higher than that of natural wood, all other things being equal. The magnitude and nature of the decrease in density along the radius of the trunk is the same as in natural wood. It is about 20%. The performed studies will allow making an express analysis of the quality of each stained wood trunk at the stage of making a decision on the behavior of its extraction. This will significantly reduce the cost of logging and primary processing of stained oak wood
