The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for the interaction between parents and coaches of middle and high school golfers, and to verify its validity. A total of 563 parents participated in the study. Based on the results of preliminary item production, item analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, identification factor analysis, job uniformity analysis, and potential mean comparison analysis, the initial 70 items were constructed according to the conceptualization of parent–coach interactions. The first and second item reduction processes and preliminary surveys were conducted through expert meetings to produce the final 40 items of parent–coach interactions. After eliminating 20 items through question analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis, the final three factors of parent–coach interaction were extracted, and the conformity index for the middle and high school golfers’ parent-to-coach interaction tool was checked. Then, to ensure the external validity of the developed parent–coach interaction measurement tool, a construct equivalence analysis was conducted to demonstrate that the tool can be applied equally to parents and coaches. In summary, the tools for measuring the interaction between the middle and high school golfers’ parents and coaches were developed in 20 questions, three factors for communication, qualification, and support, and it was confirmed that the developed measuring tools could all be applied equally through a latent mean analysis. Parents and coaches are key variables that can affect a player’s performance; thus parents and coaches’ interaction measuring tools can be provide positive information not only for golfers but also for players of various other sports.

Abstract In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, those planning and conducting research involving older adults have faced many challenges, in part because of the public health measures in place. This article details the early steps and corresponding strategies implemented by our multidisciplinary team to pivot our large-scale aging and mobility study. Based on the premise that all current and emerging research in aging has been impacted by the pandemic, we propose a continuum approach whereby the research question, analysis, and interpretation are situated in accordance with the stage of the pandemic. Using examples from our own study, we outline potential ways to partner with older adults and other stakeholders as well as to encourage collaboration beyond disciplinary silos even under the current circumstances. Finally, we suggest the formation of a Canadian-led consortium that leverages cross-disciplinary expertise to address the complexities of our aging population in the COVID-19 era and beyond.

The intonation of yes–no questions in Luganda (Bantu, Uganda) has only been sketched in passing. Hyman states that Luganda yes–no questions are marked by a ‘super-high tone’ immediately following the last lexical high tone in the sentence, but there is little agreement in the literature about the intonation of yes–no questions if there is no lexical high tone in the sentence. To clarify the differences between statements and yes–no questions in Luganda, an acoustic production study was conducted. Nineteen speakers read aloud sentences differing in the location of the last lexical high tone relative to the end of the sentence. Each sentence was produced as a statement and as a question. Analysis of f0 measurements supported Hyman’s description of sentences with a lexical high tone, since the questions had an f0 peak that was higher and later than in the corresponding statements. For sentences without a lexical high tone, yes–no questions were found to begin with an interval in which f0 is higher than in corresponding statements, and end with a final f0 value lower than in statements. It is proposed that the yes–no question marker is a phrase accent (H–). Like the high phrase accent posited by Pierrehumbert for English, this intonational tone is associated after the last tone in the phrase, but in Luganda that last tone is lexical, rather than being an intonational focus marker as in English. This H– accent is subject to upstep in the position after a high tone.

In the modern intellectual question analysis of the humanitarian fields of scientific knowledge is indicated as an important philosophical problem. The fundamental intentions of the cultural development of the 21st century intersect at this point: on the one hand, there is an awareness of the loss of spirituality, and on the other, the indication of science as the highest human value. Science, entering into the mysteries of space, living matter and the human body, creates rise to acute social, ideological, methodological and humanistic problems concerning the individual and social aspects of man. The large amounts of scientific knowledge development should be combined with humanistic ideals, otherwise it is sure to give rise to further discord to the human condition and the world of culture. Next natural question arises in the problem of humanizing science context: "What should be the peak of scientific knowledge in order to avoid further mismatch between man and nature, society, science and humanitarian ideals?" As a result, the task arose to supplement the analysis of scientific aspects of cognition with an analysis of its synergetic, existential, axiological components. It is necessary to consider cognition not only as discovering the objective truth apart from man or from mankind, and also as part of the human-species, containing valuables that act to determine the human genuineness. With this in view, we will consider how the ideal of science is changing, leading from principle ontology when the most significant value for the cognizing subject is the world in itself, to taking into account the subjective conditions under which principles of new knowledge are gained. The evolution of the paradigm of science and the scientific picture of the world is shown. This evolution goes through three stages: classical, non-classical and post-non-classical.

Question analysis is an activity that is done to identify the deficiencies in the learning outcome test and is intended to identify good questions, bad questions, and the problem of these questions. This analysis gives information on a question problem and how to fix it. The analysis of cognitive degree was a type of question analysis that aims to reveal the mix of guaranteed cognitive degree in questions. The author knows that this analysis was less done. This study aims to identify and describe the mix of cognitive degree guaranteed in the National Final Exam Questions for the Arabic Secondary Language Study. The study method used is descriptive analysis. The subjects of this study were questions on the Arabic National Examination issued by the Educational Assessment Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2013-2014 academic year. This exam is attended by students from the language department of Indonesia's state high schools. The total questions of this exam is 50. The result of this study is that the percentage of the cognitive degree guaranteed in the National Final Exam Questions for the Arabic Secondary, namely: C1 (52%), C2 (20%), C3 (22%), C4 (6%), C5 (0%) and C6 (0%). This result does not meet the percentage of questions that support the achievement of Basic Competence, namely, 30% for C1 and C2, 40% for C3 and C4, and 30% for C5 and C6

The goal of this study is to compare the types of questions between the 2013 Curriculum Mathematics textbooks and the IB Curriculum on quadratic equations. The approach used in this research is a six-dimensional analysis method consisting of: mathematical activity, the difficulty level of the questions, the types of answers expected, the contextual situation, the types of responses, and the stages of the mathematical questions. The data collection technique is conducted by evaluating and explaining the types of questions. The types of questions were obtained from the 2013 Curriculum Mathematics textbook and the IB Curriculum based on a six-dimensional analysis, namely: mathematical activity, question complexity, type of answer, contextual situation, type of response, and mathematical questions. Based on the type, the results of this study show that the questions in the 2013 curriculum mathematics textbooks are more varied than the questions in the IB curriculum mathematics textbooks on the subject of quadratic equations. However, based on the number, there are more questions in the IB curriculum mathematics textbook than the questions in the 2013 curriculum mathematics textbook.

Abstract In this paper, we present our approach to improve the performance of open-domain Arabic Question Answering systems. We focus on the passage retrieval phase which aims to retrieve the most related passages to the correct answer. To extract passages that are related to the question, the system passes through three phases: Question Analysis, Document Retrieval and Passage Retrieval. We define the passage as the sentence that ends with a dot ".". In the Question Processing phase, we applied the traditional NLP steps of tokenization, stopwords and unrelated symbols removal, and replacing the question words with their stems. We also applied Query Expansion by adding synonyms to the question words. In the Document Retrieval phase, we used the Vector Space Model (VSM) with TF-IDF vectorizer and cosine similarity. For the Passage Retrieval phase, which is the core of our system, we measured the similarity between passages and the question by a combination of the BM25 ranker and Word Embedding approach. We tested our system on ACRD dataset, which contains 1395 questions in different domains, and the system was able to achieve correct results with a precision of 92.2% and recall of 79.9% in finding the top-3 related passages for the query.

This study describes and evaluates the methods developed for the module for the analysis of problems of the closed subject system of answers to questions for the Kazakh language. Question analysis is one of the most important components of a quality control system to obtain the information needed to determine what is being asked and how to answer it. Therefore, we propose new methods of problem analysis in two main problems, namely rule-based and hidden Markov model based on the integration of systematic classification, focus extraction and question classifiers, both of which depend on the relationship between words in the problem. uses the ratio. It also compares these solutions with basic models. This study also manually presents the gold standard aggregated and annotated data for further research in this area.

Introduction. Studies of American historians on the Civil War and Reconstruction continue to be central issues in the 21st century. There is an increased public demand for these studies. The author of the analytical review of American publications tries to answer the question of what this interest is related to. Methods. The author of the review uses the methodological tools such as the scientific principle of objectivity, the special historicalcomparative method and the systematic approach to answer this question. Analysis. The author points out the main areas of studying new aspects marked by American historians of the mid-19th century. These areas include the issues and interpretations on military, political, everyday, anthropological, social and cultural, and economic history. Besides, new approaches in peer-reviewed monographs for the comprehensive coverage of the study material of this issue are highlighted. Results. The interest of academicians and the American public to studying the historical period of the Civil War and Reconstruction, on the one hand, tells about carrying the deep psycho-civilizational trauma by all subsequent generations of both white and black Americans at this time, and on the other hand, this war debunks the myth of God’s chosen destiny of the American nation to build a “City on a Hill”. Constant refinements, additions, revisions, and reinterpretations of the events and consequences of the Civil War and Reconstruction in contemporary American historiography only confirm this conclusion. The publications selected by the reviewer on this issue for 2019 not only introduce new American historical works to Russian Americanists, but also provide an opportunity to expand their own research on this issue.
