Abstract Three-dimensional (3D) carbon networks composed of graphene (GR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) were constructed in copper calcium titanate (CCTO) in order to realize negative permittivity behavior. The results show that negative permittivity can be obtained at kHz frequencies above percolation threshold when 3D carbon networks are successfully constructed. Negative permittivity originates from the low-frequency plasmonic state which is explained by the Drude model. The magnitude of negative permittivity was tuned between 105 and 106 which significantly correlates with concentration of free carriers. Moreover, the reactance spectra clarify the inductive character of negative permittivity materials.

Abstract Silver/polyaniline (Ag/PANI) composites were prepared by an in-situ synthesis method. Interestingly, the permittivity changed from positive to negative along with the formation of percolation network. The plasma oscillations of free electrons from the network made a dominant effect on the negative permittivity behavior. Further investigation based on equivalent circuit analysis revealed that the composites with negative permittivity presented inductive character. The epsilon-negative composites can be applied to electromagnetic shielding, absorbing and attenuation.

Over the past 15 years, YouTube has emerged as a large and dominant social media service, giving rise to a ‘platformed media system’ within its technical and regulatory infrastructures. This paper relies on a large-scale sample of channels (n=36M+) to explore this media system along three main lines. First, we investigate stratification and hierarchization in broadly quantitative terms, connecting to well-known tropes on structural hierarchies emerging in networked systems, where a small number of elite actors often dominate visibility. Second, we inquire into YouTube’s channel categories, their relationships, and their proportions as a means to better understand the topics on offer and their relative importance. Third, we analyze channels according to country affiliation to gain insights into the dynamics and fault lines that align with country and language. Throughout the paper, we emphasize the inductive character of this research, by highlighting the many follow-up questions that emerge from our findings.

The aim of our paper is to describe the legislative development and changes within the functioning of tax assignation mechanism, which was firstly implemented into Slovak legislation in 1999. It presents one form of direct financial support for non-governmental and non-profit organizations. During the twenty years it underwent many changes and challenges, but it managed to persist and annually bring elements of citizen direct decision-making into the system of representative democracy. By using it, taxpayers can redistribute certain share of their income tax to certain entities. They do not pay the full amount of the tax to the government, but redistribute a share of it to selected beneficiary. Our paper has analytical and inductive character. The method of scientific abstraction was used during the processing of theoretical knowledge about our issue, and analytical method was utilized during the data collection from multiple sources, which was essential for detailed examination of specific parts of this issue. We have used multiple legislative Acts as our main research data, as well as the transcriptions of debates in the National council of the Slovak Republic. Tax assignation has found its place in Slovak tax system, gained large popularity among taxpayers and receiving beneficiaries, and legislation concerning its functioning was frequently discussed and amended. Implementation of tax assignation mechanism was successful, and it continues to support the development of non-profit sector, which is important in every post-communist country.

The aim of the article is to present the role of justification and belief in the course of proving guilt in a criminal trial. The starting point is the indication of the inductive character of evidentiary reasoning and the acceptance of its conclusions on the basis of the decision making by trial authority. These decisions appear after the process in which this authority reaches the level of aspirations to make them; the second basis may be their expected usefulness. The requirements for proof are contrasted with the concept of knowledge. If one assumes that the attribution of knowledge to a particular subject consists in the possession of a justified, accurate belief by that subject, then one can assume that the possession of such knowledge is tantamount to proving in a trial sense. The tools supporting the pursuit of correctness of command are the Shafer-Dempster belief function and the Bayesian approach in making decisions about factual findings.

This article is a review of English-language texts on the experiences of adolescents with cancer. The aim of the article is to show the adolescents’ experiences of cancer based on available research. The review of texts includes studies conducted in the phenomenological approach. Selection of the texts based on specific criteria was followed by their analysis. The analysis was of qualitative and inductive character. Separate analytical categories are: difficulties in surviving cancer, strategies for coping with the disease and benefits of being sick, experience of support from the family and medical staff.

Elementos Terras Raras. China.     Abstract: The aim of this essay is to conduct an analysis of the political bargaining power achieved by China in the context of the rise of its commodity market, regarding to Rare Earth Elements (ETRs). It is considered not only the market position achieved in the current leadership but also the political position stemming from economic action on the elements achieved by the Chinese state in the current scenario. It is additionally the Chinese macro strategy that results in the internal operational choices that give natural support to its economy. The primacy of its domestic decisions, particularly in terms of its industrial policy and national economic development, is accentuated, and it is argued that with the absolute monopoly of strategic ores China has come to be seen in the sector as an eminent commercial threat to many other countries, developed or developing. Methodologically the research acquires a bibliographical and inductive character. Keywords: Bargaining power. Elements of Rare Earths. China.     Recebido em: fevereiro/2017. Aprovado em: agosto/2017.
