This paper investigates the power resource optimization problem for a new cognitive radio framework with a symbiotic backscatter-aided full-duplex secondary link under imperfect interference cancellation and other hardware impairments. The problem is formulated using two approaches, namely, maximization of the sum rate and maximization of the primary link rate, subject to rate constraints on the secondary link, and the solution for each approach is derived. The problem of a half-duplex secondary link is also solved. Simulation results show that the sum rate and exploitation of the full-duplex capability of the secondary link are strongly affected by both the problem objective and hardware impairments.

Energy consumption by the network infrastructure is growing expeditiously with the rise of the Internet. Critical research efforts have been pursued by academia, industry and governments to make networks, such as the Internet, operate more energy efficiently and reduce their power consumption. This work presents an in-depth survey of the approaches to reduce energy consumption in wired networks by first categorizing existing research into broad categories and then presenting the specific techniques, research challenges, and important conclusions. At abroad level, we present five categories of approaches for energy efficiency in wired networks – (i) sleeping of network elements, (ii) link rate adaptation, (iii) proxying, (iv) store and forward, and (v) network traffic aggregation. Additionally, this survey reviews work in energy modeling and measurement, energy-related standards and metrics, and enumerates discussion points for future work and motivations.

The study aimed to reveal the natural relation between the anxiety death and Emotional security among the specimen students of educated faculty university of Aden, to Identify the level of all the anxiety of death and Emotional security of the specimen members of study. And to find out if there are statistical differences at the level 0,05 among the average grades of the students the researched specimens according to the criteria of the anxiety death and Emotional security according to the changing educational standard (in the first and the third). The specimens research was made up of (446) male and female students of the students of the faculty of education in the university of Aden. then they have been chosen random, and the anxiety death criteria applied on to them prepared by AL-omer (2016) and criteria psychological security prepared by NAEISA (2014) after their verification of their credibility and authenticity. The researcher used the descriptive method Correlative to the appropriateness of the nature of the study problem and its objectives and the results inquired of the study on the existence of a weak positive correlation between anxiety death and psychological security, where the link (rate * 0.153) was also the arithmetic average reached total degree of scale anxiety death (2.09) and (2.13) for Emotional security. And the existence of essential differences between the sample members in the anxiety of death in favor of the third level. And no differences between specimen members average in the Emotional security among the first and third. And the top important recommendations that the research have been reached about the necessity to create guideline program to mitigate the level of anxiety of death or to set rehabilitation course to extent the awareness with the importance of to fulfill the Psychological tranquility to University students furthermore to establish consultant office to guidance and direction in Aden University to discuss the future problems with the academic students.

AbstractQuantitative criteria to identify proteins as RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are presently lacking, as are criteria to define RBP target RNAs. Here, we develop an ultraviolet (UV) cross-linking immunoprecipitation (CLIP)-sequencing method, easyCLIP. easyCLIP provides absolute cross-link rates, as well as increased simplicity, efficiency, and capacity to visualize RNA libraries during sequencing library preparation. Measurement of >200 independent cross-link experiments across >35 proteins identifies an RNA cross-link rate threshold that distinguishes RBPs from non-RBPs and defines target RNAs as those with a complex frequency unlikely for a random protein. We apply easyCLIP to the 33 most recurrent cancer mutations across 28 RBPs, finding increased RNA binding per RBP molecule for KHDRBS2 R168C, A1CF E34K and PCBP1 L100P/Q cancer mutations. Quantitating RBP-RNA interactions can thus nominate proteins as RBPs and define the impact of specific disease-associated RBP mutations on RNA association.

With a target to maximize the throughput, a fast link rate adaptation algorithm for IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac is proposed, which is basically preamble based and can adaptively compensate for the discrepancy between transmitter and receiver radio frequency performances by exploiting the acknowledgment signal. The target system is a 1 × 1 wireless local area network chip with no null data packet or sounding. The algorithm can be supplemented by automatic rate fallback at the initial phase to further expedite rate adaptation. The target system receives wireless channel coefficients and previous packet information, translates them to amended signal-to-noise ratios, and then, via the mean mutual information, selects the modulation and coding scheme with the maximum throughput. Extensive simulation and wireless tests are carried out to demonstrate the validity of the proposed adaptive preamble-based link adaptation in comparison with both the popular automatic rate fallback and ideal link adaptation. The throughput gain of the proposed link adaptation over automatic rate fallback is demonstrated over various packet transmission intervals and Doppler frequencies. The throughput gain of the proposed algorithm over ARF is 46% (15%) for a 1-tap (3-tap) channel over 10 m–250 m (16 m–160 m) normalized Doppler frequencies. Assuming a 3-tap channel and 30 m–50 m normalized Doppler frequencies, the throughput of the proposed algorithm is about 31 Mbps, nearly the same as that of ideal link adaptation, whereas the throughput of ARF is about 24 Mbps, leading to a 30% throughput gain of the proposed algorithm over ARF. The firmware is implemented in C and on Xilinx Zynq 7020 (Xilinx, San Jose, CA, USA) for wireless tests.

With the development of the technology, the wireless systems are becoming more heterogeneous with the introduction of various power nodes including femtocells, relays, or distributed antennas. Among the research of wireless network performance, the meta distribution of the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) has attracted significant attention. Compared to the standard success (coverage) probability, the meta distribution provides much more fine-grained information about the network performance. In this paper, we analyze the meta distribution of the SIR in the multi-tier heterogeneous and hybrid networks, where each tier is based on a homogeneous independent Poisson point process model. For the open tiers (the users can associate with any tier) and the closed tiers (the users can only associate with a certain tier), we study the b th moment of the conditional success probability for the typical user and give the beta approximation of the meta distribution from analysis and simulations. Furthermore, we analyze the per-link rate control for open tiers and closed tiers, which answers the question: “how to set the SIR threshold to meet a target reliability?”. We give the approximate value of the SIR threshold to meet a target reliability and show how the value is related to the path loss exponent and densities.

The practice of marketing communication has long remained almost non-existent in the health care management sector for essentially ethical reasons, as long as the demand for the health care service was greater than its offer. Healthcare institutions did not feel the need to develop strategies to attract and retain patients. And yet, health organizations are a service provider that requires as much as other areas, the application of management science, including marketing. Changes in the modern social and economic environment require all service providers to behave and market-oriented to adapt to their respective markets, increasingly competitive markets. And one of the axes of this adaptation is their openness to marketing communication strategies... That is why, in this article, we want to reflect on the issues that today constitute the application of marketing communications strategies by health care institutions. This explanatory study was carried out on the contribution of the marketing communication strategy to performance in public and private hospitals in Lubumbashi city. The results of this study indicate that the appropriation of the marketing communication strategy has a positive and significant impact on the hospital performance (24% of the link rate between the marketing communication strategy and the hospital performance). In addition, the contextual pressure has a positive and significant impact on the success of the marketing communication strategy and the performance of the health care institutions (12% of the link rate between the environmental context and the implementation of the marketing communication strategy). The study highlights the need for healthcare institutions to implement the communication strategy in order to be successful in a dual goal of promoting health and patient satisfaction in addition to a significant competitive advantage.
