Purpose: The lack of awareness regarding the policies and procedures about universal precautions among medical students has resulted in higher accidental exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens and body fluids. So, the current situation needs such type of study which can help in improving awareness about universal precautions among Nurses and Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internships (CRRI), those who constitute a major role in controlling deadly infections. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted among nurses of all departments and Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internships (CRRI) between June & July 2020 in a teaching medical hospital near Kancheepuram. A total of 400 nurses who were deputed in various departments and 50 Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internships (CRRIs) were requested to take part in the study. The emails were gathered and formal informed consent was sent along with the standard questionnaire. The questions were prepared in a simple language from a valid & reliable measure. Statistical methods: The data are entered and analysed by MS Excel. A chi square test is carried to test the association between the proportion. Results: The level of knowledge among nurses and CRRIs were similar without a significant difference between them. The awareness regarding universal precaution in nurses with different working experience were also similar without any significant differences. About 95% of CRRIs were aware about the universal precautions. The awareness about universal precaution and practice was not statistically significant when compared between the nurses and CRRIs. Conclusion: The current study findings assure that the nurses and Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRIs) were aware and are knowledgeable about the standard precautions and their importance in reducing infections. The present result shows the infectious committee has a great role in educating the health care workers and provide a better environment for serving the patients.

Due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 which rendered many public and crowded places closed for safety measures and preventing further spreading of the mentioned disease. One of the places closed as a safety precaution is schools. And because of this, many high school students’ education is put on pause as they are encouraged to stay at home. Moreover, citizens other than students are obliged to stay at home and engage in minimal contact with the outside world. From this, we are introduced to the word quarantine which is an official term describing the act of imposing isolation on individuals or a group of individuals; consequently, most adults and parents fear that this will affect their children’s productivity especially that they are in high school and very close to transitioning to universities and adulthood. As thai highschoolers, we wanted to put this belief to the test by conducting this research which focuses mainly on assessing the effects of quarantine on thai high school students’ productivity in terms of self care, education,and contribution to others. Our goal is to disprove the assumption held by many that quarantine would lead to decrement of high school students’ productivity. Interestingly, our thesis was proven true and our thought processes and procedures will be further elaborated in this research paper.

Introduction/aims: Determine established neuromuscular disease patients' satisfaction with telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic.Methods: We received 50 completed Utah telehealth satisfaction surveys from a cohort of 90 from April 2020 to June 2020. Returning neuromuscular disease patients rated seven aspects from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree): Communication, timeliness of physician, picture quality, sound quality, protection of privacy, the comfort of the physical exam, the ease of healthcare, and whether patients would prefer “in-person” visits despite safety precaution. A favorable response was defined as a response of “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” to the survey questions. An independent t-test, Fisher's or chi-square test were used to compare demographic factors on outcomes for each survey question.Results: The average age was 47.54 ± 20.63, 54% were female, 70% from rural areas, 60% had family present “webside,” and 14% had family present remotely. The majority of patients reported “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” to each survey question assessing their telehealth satisfaction, except for whether patients preferred in-person appointments. Demographic factors, including location and clinical diagnosis, did not influence survey responses.Discussion: The vast majority of established neuromuscular disease patients responded favorably to their telehealth experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract Introduction NICE emphasises the importance of pregnancy testing before surgical procedures as a patient safety precaution, especially in 13-16-year-olds. This is because, in the UK, a third of females will have been sexually active by the age of 16, meanwhile, in England there are 67,000 operations involving females aged 12-15 annually. Method Guidance from NICE and RCPCH was used to create standards to compare against current practice. Surgical admissions involving females aged 13-16 were retrospectively analysed over a one-year period and compared to these standards. Changes, including creation of a protocol, revision of the clerking proforma and staff education, were implemented to improve compliance and patient data was re-audited following this. Results Initially, 27% of patients did not have pregnancy testing before their procedure and consent for pregnancy testing was not documented. However, when pregnancy tests were performed, the result was documented 100% of the time. After implementing changes, 100% of patients had pregnancy testing before their procedure and documentation of consent had improved. Conclusions Initial practice showed poor compliance with NICE and RCPCH standards. Changes implemented have shown increased compliance to NICE and RCPCH standards and these changes could be used as a model to improve clinical compliance in further areas.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) has assumed a global health concern since the first case was recorded in Wuhan community China in December 2019. The objective of this paper is to report the level of practice of safety precautions against COVID 19 among pregnant women attending Antenatal Clinics in Central Hospital Benin, Benin City in Nigeria. A self- administered questionnaire on the level of practice of safety precautions against covid19 infection was administered to a total of 420 pregnant women attending antenatal clinics in central Hospital Benin City for Data collection. The results showed that two hundred and four (48.6%) of the respondents reported that they have recently avoided crowded places. Three hundred and seventy two (88.6%) reported recently wearing mask whenever they left home. Three hundred and twenty four (77.1%) of the respondents had good practice of safety precautions against COVID19. The study showed a good practice of safety precautions against COVID19 and this was influenced by the women’s level of education, occupation and knowledge of COVID-19. However, there is still the need to improve the knowledge of the women attending antenatal clinic regarding COVID-19 through health education seminars. Also up scaling the practice of safety precautions could be done through such health education seminars. Keywords: Pregnant women, Practice, Safety precaution, covid-19

In 1953, Ruger released a single-action revolver—patterned after the original Colt Single Action Army. Whilst some changes had been made, this firearm possessed, for all intents and purposes, the handling characteristics of the original Colt design. As a result, the safety precaution was as per the original: the revolver should be loaded with five rounds, rather than six, and the hammer positioned such that it rested over an empty chamber. Despite outlining the recommended carry methods in their instruction manual, Ruger became the subject of product liability lawsuits from purchasers who incorrectly loaded and carried the firearm, resulting in negligent discharges. This article explores the history of Colt-type single-action revolvers in the post-World War II period, analyses the availability of historic mechanical safety mechanisms for double-action revolvers in the 19th and 20th centuries, and summarises the patents on single-action safeties that Ruger had received by 1973. That year, the company discontinued their initial line of Single Action Army-style revolvers—known as ‘Old Models’—for a visibly similar, but mechanically different, ‘New Model’ line of single-action revolvers featuring newly developed safety mechanisms.

Landslide is one of major issue that occurred during rainy season. This problem is straightforward and able to be prevented with installing reinforcement into the designated landslide location prior to sliding failure. It is effective due to the reinforcement cutting through failure plane, hence strengthen the soil body.  By and large, prior to land sliding, several indications are taken into place, such as soil cracking, structural cracking, vegetation movement, etc. By observing this event, one should be aware that further soil movement are very likely to follow afterwards. Consequently, safety precaution shall be taken. This paper presents one case study in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. In this case, structural crackings are found in several places, especially at the poolside. These are appeared earlier this year, concurrently with very high intensity rainy season which is predicted to be the cause. Analysis is performed to check the current stability of the slope. The result is showing that the Safety Factor value is 1.181, below the allowable value of 1.5. Then, reinforcement is designed as a preventive measure. It is using retaining wall by employing bored pile coupled with sufficiently thick capping beam. From analysis, the safety factor is increased to 1.553 during critical condition. This value is above the criteria of 1.5 and concluded as a safe design. Structural capacity of bored pile is also designed. Accordingly, the retaining wall is constructed on site in final stage
