Effleurage is a massage technique using the palms of the hands in a circular pattern of movements in several parts of the body or strokes along the back and extremities. This study aims to determine the effect of massage effleurage on the adaptation of the anxiety level of childbirth during the first active phase of primigravida at Masyita Maternity Hospital. The type of research used is experiment with pre-experimental design with one group prestest design approach because it will compare the situation before it is done with after treatment. The sample in this study were all 30 prigravida maternity respondents. The relationship test was carried out using the paired sample t test with a significance level (α) of 0.05.The results of the paired sample t test p = 0.000, which means that the p value is smaller than the value (α) 0.05, thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Interpretation of the effect of massage effleurage on the adaptation of the level of anxiety during labor during the active phase. With this research, it can be concluded that overcoming labor anxiety when 1 fae is active, can be done by doing non-pharmacological methods such as massage, for example by giving efflaurage massage, without having to take drugs. This research can increase knowledge, especially regarding the effect of massage effleurage on the adaptability of primigravida anxiety during the active phase. and can be used as a source of information, especially related to maternity nursing science.

Theodor W. Adorno

The work "Taboos on the teaching vocation" was read by the German social philosopher and representative of critical theory Theodor Adorno as a report on May 21, 1965 at the Berlin Institute for Educational Research (West Berlin). In this report, Adorno considered the socio-psychological and socio-cultural reasons that in the context of Western European culture have historically led to the social emergence of many psychological taboos on the pedagogical work of the school teacher. The philosopher theoretically deduced the dialectical connection between human hostility and disgust for the work of the teacher from the cultural tradition of German society, which historically developed as late bourgeois. A characteristic feature of the attitude of the overly materialistic socio-cultural system was aversion to the work of the teacher as a "hungry job", that is, to a poorly paid profession. Another factor of public disgust for the work of teachers, the philosopher called the socio-cultural tradition of society, which as a closed society willingly practiced physical violence as a means of social coercion. According to this tradition, through the use of violence, the teacher must subordinate students to his authority, subordinate to social and school ideology. The historical result of such dialectics was the socio-cultural (ideological) distortion of the image of the teacher, the castration of his image in social psychology, his self-alienation from the professional vocation and the ideological elimination of the power of his spirit. As an ideological alternative, Adorno suggested that society, if it consciously seeks democratic change, first of all take into account such young teachers who demonstrate the impulse of their individual spirit in the performance of their profession. According to the philosopher, only the spiritual freedom of such a young educator, a man who is capable of self-understanding, conscious of himself and his vocation, who reflects and is socially active, can democratize schools, devalue society and destroy dehumanized social traditions. First of all – in order to overcome the barbaric tradition of violence.

The adrenal incidentaloma is a lesion of a different etiology and found incidentally in patients who underwent a diagnostic study not about the disease of this organ. Lesions can be both hormonally inactive and hormonally active, can arise from different zones of the adrenal gland or have non-specific organ affiliation, can be benign or malignant. Computed tomography characterization of these lesions, especially the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant, is extremely important for the correct diagnosis in order to provide adequate management of the patient. The article presents the key computed tomography criteria that allow radiologist to characterize the lesion most accurately and consider appropriate diagnosis.

Fucoxanthin is a natural carotenoid derived mostly from many species of marine brown algae. It is characterized by small molecular weight, is chemically active, can be easily oxidized, and has diverse biological activities, thus protecting cell components from ROS. Fucoxanthin inhibits the proliferation of a variety of cancer cells, promotes weight loss, acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent, interacts with the intestinal flora to protect intestinal health, prevents organ fibrosis, and exerts a multitude of other beneficial effects. Thus, fucoxanthin has a wide range of applications and broad prospects. This review focuses primarily on the latest progress in research on its pharmacological activity and underlying mechanisms.

Every person should be valued for their skills and potential, for every moment they are present. Training on Diversity and Unconscious bias is urgently needed. All staff must see themselves as role models, creating culture and reacting to another's name badge/role, with “fake it till you make it”. Those with poor behaviour may lack insight. Zero tolerance involves others taking a poorly-behaving peer for ‘a Vanderbilt cup of coffee'. Informal mentors should avoid gendered assumptions, e.g. all medical students need to scrub in. Leadership roles should have a clear application process. Inequality is not just a women's issue. Improvements must focus on the women themselves, the others around them, and the structures/processes. There are parallels with prevention in healthcare needing 3-pronged change: in individuals, society/culture, and organisations. More people being active can rapidly reduce the need for, and cost of, healthcare and social care by £Billions annually. The current paradigm of health is perhaps passive and paternalistic and a radical approach is needed.

Background: Addiction and mental health (AMH) professionals often experience high levels of burnout, which can lead to detrimental outcomes for patient care and safety and the AMH professional themselves. Interventions aimed at improving well-being can be useful to tackle the issues surrounding burnout. Specifically, implementing activity-based events (ABEs), which encourages individuals to be more physically active, can be useful in improving physical, mental, and social well-being. Alberta Health Services AMH, Edmonton Zone, implemented a Sports Day event to promote well-being as a way to help offset the risk of burnout. Methods: This was an online anonymous cross-sectional, postsurvey evaluation. The postsurvey was administered to 243 AMH staff and physicians who registered for Sports Day. Findings: The responses from 66 AMH staff and physician attendees indicated that individuals were highly satisfied with the event and felt that Sports Day promoted positive mental and physical well-being, helped to develop a sense of community, and strengthened colleague relationships. Conclusions/Application to Professional Practice: The results build on the literature examining the effects of single-day ABEs and can be implemented by health care organizations to promote staff and physician well-being via increased physical activity. Single-day ABEs, like Sports Day, can promote mental, physical, and social well-being. Organizing a sports day event is a feasible way to help offset the risk of burnout and is generally well received by individuals.

A growing number of publications indicate that being physically active can aff ect various aspects of life, including professional work. The aim of the article is to present the relationship between physical activity and income levels. The research involved the use of the integrated Social Diagnosis database. Social Diagnosis is a comprehensive survey of households and the conditions and quality of life of Polish people. The results of the conducted study show that there is a signifi cant diff erence in the income of people who practice sport and those who do not. This research is also unique because it examines how taking up and discontinuation of practicing sport aff ects income. It can be concluded that undertaking of physical activity is connected with a higher average income, and to the contrary, a discontinuation of physical activity is connected with lower income.

AbstractHere we report statistical studies of single-cell mRNA counts from cells derived from different tissues of adult mice. By examining correlations between mRNA gene counts we find strong evidence that when genes are only observed in a small fraction of cells, this is as a consequence of intermittent transcription rather than of expression only in specialized cell types. Count statistics are used to estimate a peak transcription level for each gene, and a probability for the gene to be active in any given cell. We find that the peak transcription levels are approximately constant across different tissue types, but the gene expression probabilities may be markedly different. Both these quantities have very wide ranges of values, with a probability density function well approximated by a power law.Author summaryUsing evidence from single-cell mRNA counts, we argue that the expression of many genes in individual mouse cells is highly intermittent. Comparing cells from different tissues, we find that the peak activity of a given gene is approximately the same in all tissue types, whereas the probability of a gene being active can differ markedly.
