This paper describes the decision-making based on civil engineering expertise of the Dam Safety Remote Monitoring System: DS-RMS, which decides on action-based advice depending on every-day scenarios and special occurrences such as earthquakes and floods. The system has been in full operation since 2016 and automatically evaluates 35 failure modes for 3 major dam types 24 hours a day. Key benefits include quick and reliable access to current information about the dams and being a reliever to dam executives in critical situations. In further development, parts of the real-time dam information were selected and made available to the public together with dam safety evaluation results automatically and continuously via a mobile application.

Abstract ADNOC Drilling operates a growing fleet of 22 jack up units. These units require various inspections and tests to ensure that their integrity is maintained while conducting the drilling operations. One of these inspections is the underwater inspection which is required to be carried out twice every 5 years. Traditionally, this inspection is carried out by divers at the shipyard where it is safe for divers to carry out cleaning, visual inspections and NDT of structural welds. Moving the rig to a drydock or a shipyard is a costly and involves a lot of activities related to safety in addition to the out of service time. Loss of revenue is experienced while the rig is out of service, as well as costs associated to the survey, shipyard costs, vessel costs etc. all combining to create an expensive inspection process. ADNOC Drilling Marine and Group Technology adapted a new method for performing the full scope of the underwater inspection offshore using small remotely operated vehicles (ROV), most of the scope is carried out while the rig remains in full operation (while drilling).

In recent years, battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks have seen rapid growth in China. Summarizing from the practical experiences gained in this development, and starting from market research and analysis of the most typical city of application case, Beijing, we aim to achieve the following: (ⅰ) Establish an operating cost model for battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks throughout a full operation cycle from the perspective of a heavy-duty truck freight transport capacity operator, based on four key cost dimensions, including transportation equipment, operation and maintenance, environmental protection compensation, and battery recycling compensation. (ⅱ) Calculate and compare the operating cost economy of battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks and other types of heavy-duty truck under different energy supplement modes, including charging, hydrogenation, and diesel. (ⅲ) Propose suggestions for faster and more successful heavy-duty truck electrification. The results indicate that battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks have good cost economy in a full operation cycle under specific scenario, and their economy will be improved with the popularization of battery-swapping stations.

In this communication we present the construction of a wind farm, WF, with 10 MW of nominal power. This WF will increase the quantity and quality of electricity in the area of Ambocas, Loja, Ecuador, strengthen a system with many voltage drops. The place chosen is ideal, because it is long from population, in a hill side near an existing road. Wind is persistent and has a constant orientation all along the year. The generated power will be connected with the electricity system in the Portovelo Substation, which is about 12 km from the WF site. We have calculated the expected electricity production all along the year taking into account all important data to simulate successfully the WF operation in real conditions. We have also modelled the interconnexion of the WF with the substation and its effect in the 69 kV bar. Finally, a brief economical analysis of the project gives an annual average profit higher than 3.5 USD million without taxes, while the inversion would be cancelled in less than 5 years of the 20 ones planned for the WF in full operation.

Abstract This article's goal is to present some of the main flow assurance challenges faced by PETROBRAS in the Buzios oil field, from its early design stages to full operation, up to this day. These challenges include: hydrate formation in WAG (Water Alternating Gas) operations; reliability of the chemical injection system to prevent scale deposition; increasing GLR (Gas Liquid Ratio) management and operations with extremely high flowrates. Flow assurance experience amassed in Buzios and in other pre-salt oil fields, regarding all these presented issues, is particularly relevant for the development of future projects with similar characteristics, such as high liquid flow rate, high CO2 content and high scaling potential.

The paper describes the technique of strengthening shallow foundations of reconstructed buildings using injection piles. First, the constructive solution of the existing foundations, the structural scheme of the building, as well as the loads transferred to the building structures before and after its reconstruction are established. At the same time, an assessment of the soil conditions of the construction site of the reconstructed building is carried out; a bearing soil layer is revealed for deepening the lower ends of injection piles. Based on the data obtained, the loading of the base of the foundations of the reconstructed building is assessed and the need for their reinforcement (or further operation without reinforcement) is established. In the case of strengthening the foundations of the building, the method of transferring the additional load to the injection piles is selected. Then their bearing capacity and design loads allowed on the piles are substantiated. The construction of foundations is carried out, taking into account their reinforcement with injection piles, which are hereinafter called combined. Verificationcalculations of the base of the combined foundations are performed for the firstand second groups of limit states. In accordance with the regulatory documents, strength calculations of the main structural elements of foundations are carried out, which are necessary to ensure their full operation, taking into account the reinforcement. At the finalstage, working documentation is developed to strengthen the foundations of the reconstructed building. The stages of the design of strengthening the foundations of reconstructed buildings using injection piles presented in the work allow to properly and consistently organize the work of specialists.

State-Owned Enterprises established for business purposes in the full operation of risk. Law No. 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises does not regulate the protection of the Board of Directors of the Company, meanwhile, Law No. 40 of 2007 on Limited Liability Companies regulation of the protection of the Board of Directors of its implementation gives rise to multi-interpretation. Business decisions made by the Board of Directors of the Company in accordance with the principles of Business Judgement Rule are business risk, should get legal protection. The purpose of this research is to find out the weaknesses of this legal protection. This research includes normative legal research with a statutory approach with The analysis technique in this research is investigation strategy. The results show that there is no legal certainty regarding business decisions taken by Directors who experience losses in business transactions so that the Government / DPR must amend the BUMN Law by adding articles on the legal protection of the Directors of Persero.
