This paper identifies the respondents’ views towards e-Voting (electronic technology voting) such as the process, users’ satisfaction, and relevancy, and to determine the usability criteria of e- voting’s interface, in which it employs a quantitative method, using self-administered adapted questionnaires. The survey involves 250 respondents (voters), who immediately completed five Likert scales survey after they had voted for the committee members in two general elections: a social club for the university’s staff (using Internet) and an organization for the female staff of the university (using the Intranet). The respondents were of different demographic backgrounds and they casted their online votes at two different periods (two years difference). The data were analysed using the SPSS software. The study found positive responses from most of the voters in which they expressed their satisfaction that e-Voting was convenient and easy to be used in the voting process, where the system illustrated relevant content and generated adequate procedures. Notably, the usability criteria of the interface of e-Voting as indicated by most respondents are between good to very good scales (navigation, graphic, user-friendliness andconsistency, content, and transparency).

Digitalization is forcing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to rethink their work and production processes. Initiated by this process, the organization of production and employees are subject to change. As a result, the job profiles of employees are changing and expanding, as well as the way how knowledge is imparted. Innovative and digitized formats should be integrated into existing training programs and presented in a way that is suitable for use on mobile de-vices. Therefore, suitable and target group-specific teaching/learning formats are needed that support participative methods and digital collaboration. For this purpose, a digital teaching and learning format for the application area of automotive engineering in SMEs was designed. This prototypical teach-ing/learning format was created and evaluated in an iterative process through the participation of the potential users and taking into account existing usability criteria. The two methods used to evaluate the format were Think-Aloud and focus group, the results of this evaluations are presented in this paper. The results show that when evaluating the teaching/learning format, the test subjects mainly refer to the usability criteria of DIN ISO 9241-110, the structure of the course and the information content of the course. Recommendations for the creation of future digital teaching and learning formats for SMEs are derived from these findings.

Abstract This study aims to advance a new multi-dimensional usability evaluation approach (MDUEA) for websites including four phases In the first phase, components of usability evaluation as tasks, participants, usability criteria are determined. In the second phase, the Morae V3 package program used for the tests recording the user actions and the system usability scale (SUS) is performed by Morae at the end of the each task. In the third phase, Preference Selection Index (PSI), ENTROPY and The Criteria Importance through Inter criteria Correlation (CRITIC) are performed to obtain objective usability criteria weights considering a novel three-dimension initial decision matrices than, the weights obtained from these three techniques are aggregated via geometric mean operator. In the same phase, Rank Sum (RS), Rank Reciprocal (RR) and Rank Exponent (RE) methods are utilized to compute subjective criteria weights than, weights obtained from these three approaches are aggregated via using geometric mean operator. In the fourth phase, Combinative Distance-based Assessment (CODAS) is used to rank websites considering a new proposed threshold function value computation for objective criteria group and subjective criteria group separately.

In the higher education sector, there is a growing trend to offer academic information to users through websites. Contemporarily, the users (i.e., students/teachers, parents, and administrative staff) greatly rely on these websites to perform various academic tasks, including admission, access to learning management systems (LMS), and links to other relevant resources. These users vary from each other in terms of their technological competence, objectives, and frequency of use. Therefore, academic websites should be designed considering different dimensions, so that everybody can be accommodated. Knowing the different dimensions with respect to the usability of academic websites is a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) approach has been considered to be a significant method to deal with the uncertainty that is involved in subjective judgment. Although a wide range of usability factors for academic websites have already been identified, most of them are based on the judgment of experts who have never used these websites. This study identified important factors through a detailed literature review, classified them, and prioritized the most critical among them through the FAHP methodology, involving relevant users to propose a usability evaluation framework for academic websites. To validate the proposed framework, five websites of renowned higher educational institutes (HEIs) were evaluated and ranked according to the usability criteria. As the proposed framework was created methodically, the authors believe that it would be helpful for detecting real usability issues that currently exist in academic websites.

Document Management System is a concept of planning and managing a document in various activities simultaneously, which one of common activity is publication from before the conference starts to after the conference finished. Pre-conference activities include the process of registering a conference, the admin process of verifying the registered conference, until the conference has been published. In this case, user experience (UX) orientation and paradigm was investigated through the simplified RMS (Recognize, Materialize and Scrutinize) design approach by generating the prototype with the usability criteria and aspects to comply with the user demand as the critical factors and trigger for comprehensive execution. The EzDesk application is an application designed to assist users in registering conferences and verifying conference registration documents. There are 2 actors, primarily in this module, which are chair as the conference organizer and the admin plays a role in conference verification. To verify a conference to be held, the admin must check the required documents for holding a conference. After going through the verification stage, a conference can be distributed via visualization on the main page of document management system application.

Computer programming subject is the most-feared subject by students because it is hard to learn. At present, various learning media for programming are available, therefore, the learning process which was often considered as boring and hard to learn becomes interesting and easy to do. One of those media is through internet. This condition is parallel with various number of learning-based online sites that currently grow, including CodeSaya; one of the learning websites for computer programming languages. Usability is an important aspect to be noticed for the users to feel facilitated in using it, acquiring the required knowledge, and be interested to always rely on the site within the learning process. By collecting the user perception about user interfaces, questionnaire might help identifying the weakness in website usability to perform improvements. This research was done to analyze the success of online learning site, whether it meets the usability criteria by implementing System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire as the research instrument. SUS is an effective and reliable instrument to measure the usability of various products and services. The research questionnaire consisted of 10 questions which disseminated toward 162 respondents divided into two groups, namely familiar users that amounted to 81 respondents and unfamiliar users that amounted to 81 respondents as well. The usability of CodeSaya site acquired 72.1 of score for familiar users and 70 of score for unfamiliar users. The score acquired from the rating given by familiar respondents only a bit higher compared to the unfamiliar respondents. The rating in alphabet resulted in B or Good. It can be concluded that this computer programming learning site has met the usability criteria, therefore, it can be implemented as a learning medium that is feasible to be used by the users.
