Abstract Studies show that active control technology can improve system performance and meet the increasing industrial demand in diverse applications. In the present study, the dynamic characteristics of the bearing-spindle system based on active piezoelectric (PZT) restrictors, including the amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics are analyzed theoretically and experimentally. In the analysis, the influence of the pipeline model on the system characteristics is studied. Then the feasibility and effectiveness of the active control method are verified through experiments. It is demonstrated that the theoretical and experimental results are consistent. The present study is expected to provide a guideline for further investigations on the structural optimization and control law design for active hydrostatic oil-film bearing spindle systems.

Climatic chambers are highly important in research and industrial applications and are used to examine manufactured samples, specimens, or components in controlled environment conditions. Despite the growing industrial demand for climatic chambers, only a few published studies have specifically concentrated on performance analysis and functional improvements through numerical and experimental studies. In this study, a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of a climatic chamber was developed using Ansys Fluent to simulate the fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer to obtain the velocity, temperature, and relative humidity fields in the interior box of a 1200 L climatic chamber. The results were then validated with experimental data from a prototype. Finally, the heat losses of the surrounding components of the chamber were calculated, and the relationship between the inside temperature and the overall thermal loss was modelled. This validated numerical model provides the possibility of optimising the performance of climate chambers by reducing the thermal loss from the walls and modifying the air flow pattern inside the chamber.

Triticum aestivum, commonly known as bread wheat, is one of the most cultivated crops globally. Due to its increasing demand, wheat is the source of many nutritious products including bread, pasta, and noodles containing different types of seed storage proteins. Wheat seed storage proteins largely control the type and quality of any wheat product. Among various unique wheat products, bread is the most consumed product around the world due to its fast availability as compared to other traditional food commodities. The production of highly nutritious and superior quality bread is always a matter of concern because of its increasing industrial demand. Therefore, new and more advanced technologies are currently being applied to improve and enrich the bread, having increased fortified nutrients, gluten-free, highly stable with enhanced shelf-life, and long-lasting. This review focused on bread proteins with improving wheat qualities and nutritional properties using modern technologies. We also describe the recent innovations in processing technologies to improve various quality traits of wheat bread. We also highlight some modern forms of bread that are utilized in different industries for various purposes and future directions.

Prokaryotic microbial cells especially bacteria are highly emphases for their exopolysaccharides (EPS) production. EPS are the higher molecular weight natural extracellular compounds observe at the surface of the bacterial cells. Nowadays bacterial EPS represent rapidly emerging as new and industrially important biomaterials because it having tremendous physical and chemical properties with novel functionality. Due to its industrial demand as well as research studies the different extraction processes have been discovered to remove the EPS from the microbial biofilm. The novelties of EPS are also based on the microbial habitat conditions such as higher temperature, lower temperature, acidic, alkaliphilic, saline, etc. Based on its chemical structure they can be homopolysaccharide or heteropolysaccharide. EPSs have a wide range of applications in various industries such as food, textile, pharmaceutical, heavy metal recovery, agriculture, etc. So, this review focus on the understanding of the structure, different extraction processes, biosynthesis and genetic engineering of EPS as well as their desirable biotechnological applications.

Industrial power has a large load base and considerable adjustment potential. Enterprises with a high degree of automation and adjustable potential can automatically adjust the production status according to the peak load, frequency of the power grid and the demand of new energy consumption, so as to realize automatic demand response. This paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges of industrial demand response under the integration of Industrial Internet and Energy Internet. At the same time, the development direction of industrial demand response under the new situation, such as comprehensive demand response, adjustable load resources and other technical and policy aspects are prospected.

Polytechnic is a university focusing on vocational education. Politeknik Unggul LP3M is to provide an appropriate vocational education in supporting industrial demand. This study focuses on maximizing students’ loyalty influenced by brand image and trust, where students’ satisfaction is an intervening variable. Path analysis was chosen for this study. As many as 125 people were chosen as respondents, and the technique sampling used purposive random sampling. The study showed that brand image and trust significantly impact students’ loyalty and satisfaction in Politeknik Unggul LP3M. Students’ satisfaction has a crucial role in mediating brand image and brand trust on students’ loyalty.

Abstract Background Tyrosinases and laccases are oxidoreductase enzymes that are used widely in the food, feed, textile, and biofuel industries. The rapidly growing industrial demand for bacterial oxido-reductases has encouraged research on this enzyme worldwide. These enzymes also play a key role in the formation of humic substances (HS) that are involved in controlling the biogeochemical carbon cycle, providing nutrients and bio-stimulants for plant growth, and interacting with inorganic and organic pollutants besides increasing carbon sequestration and mitigating greenhouse gas emission in the environment. The present study aimed to screen and characterize extracellular tyrosinase and laccase-producing soil bacteria that could be utilized in the polymerization of phenols. Results Twenty isolates from different soil samples collected from forest ecosystems were characterized through ARDRA using restriction digestion with AluI, HpaII, and HaeIII restriction enzymes. The results of Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) revealed a 60 % similarity coefficient among 13 out of 20 isolates, of which, the isolate TFG5 exhibited only 10 % similarity when compared to all the other isolates. The isolate TFG5 exhibited both tyrosinase (1.34 U.mL− 1) and laccase (2.01 U.mL− 1) activity and was identified as Bacillus aryabhattai. The increased polymerization activity was observed when B. aryabhattai TFG5 was treated with phenols. The monomers such as catechol, p-Hydroxy benzoic acid, ferulic acid, and salicylic acid were polymerized efficiently, as evidenced by their FT-IR spectra depicting increased functional groups compared to the standard mushroom tyrosinase. Conclusions The polymerization ability of B. aryabhattai TFG5 could be applied to phenol-rich wastewater treatment for efficient precipitation of phenols. Furthermore, tyrosinases can be used for enhancing the synthesis of HS in soil.

Discharged water from the oil and gas fields is a common type of wastewater called produced water (PW). It consists of different combinations of salinities, oils, and mineral deposits. Growing industrial demand, accelerated urbanization, and rapid population growth are putting enormous strain on the world’s water supply. Based on sustainable freshwater supplies, North Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia confront the ultimate water shortages threat. Proper implementation of innovative membrane technologies in wastewater treatment is considered a solution towards tackling water insecurity and sustainability. Different types of innovative membrane technologies used for produced water treatment were considered in this work. A framework of innovative membrane technology was studied for industrial wastewater with direct contribution to the environmental and economical sustainability factors, taking into consideration grand challenges and limitations in energy costs and environmental constraints. Treated produced water can be utilized in irrigation providing many benefits only if the desalination sector is mature and fully developed.
