As populations increase and economic affluence expand, conventional farmers will be unable to meet the demand for food. Two main scenarios offer different solutions. The first scenario aims to further intensify scientific- and technology-driven agriculture research. The second scenario aims to radically switch to nature-based solutions in agricultural systems. There seem to be two interpretations of the nature-based solutions scenario: on the one hand, the interpretation of the IUCN regards nature-based solutions, such as regenerative agriculture, as using nature and denies a link with biomimicry; and on the other hand, the interpretation of the EU regards regenerative agriculture as an example of biomimicry. This raises the question: is regenerative agriculture a prime example of biomimicry or is it only a very important way to use nature in agriculture? To answer this question, we take a step back and philosophically reflect on biomimicry. Based on two definitions of mimesis, we distinguish between two concepts of biomimicry, a ‘strong’ concept which emphasizes natural principles and copying natural models, and a ‘weak’ concept, which emphasizes inspiration by nature and creative invention. Secondly, we describe and analyze regenerative agriculture as part of the nature-based solutions scenario and interpret regenerative agriculture first as ‘weak’ and then as ‘strong’ biomimicry. Both interpretations have their problems. To address these, we propose a new concept of biomimicry based on a new definition of mimesis. This enable us to differentiate between biomimicry, strict imitation of nature, and nature-inspired invention. We argue that our conceptualization of biomimicry helps to operationalize regenerative agriculture as a biomimetic technology.

This postface argues for a narrow and analytically strong concept of brokerage, which is oriented towards the classical definition by Boissevain. His ideal type emphasises the agency of brokers who actively pursue their own interests and act at an equal distance to the groups between which they mediate. Furthermore, the text argues for thinking of brokerage as a bundle of social practices instead of as brokers in the sense of a social type. While few social actors are fully-fledged brokers, many of them engage in brokerage.

Indonesia is rich in local wisdoms, including in fisheries management. Fisheries management by applying local wisdom is an effort to utilize fisheries resource based on traditional noble values designated to people’s welfare. Research aims to collect and analyse local wisdoms related to fisheries management in Indonesia, the concepts offered, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as efforts for their conservation. Method applied in this research is literature review, main articles collected from international and national journals, and other relevant resources as supportive data. Analysis on 24 articles show that there are 3 fisheries local wisdoms which have been researched the most: Panglima Laot-Adat Laot, kewang-sasi, and awig-awig. Panglima Laot in Aceh is considered to be the one that has strong concept and more advantages as compared to others. However, violations to its customary law still take places. Noted also that researches are not exploring the perspective of the people who are regulated by related local wisdoms. Efforts to conserve local wisdoms by building the capacity and integrating their values into formal law as management model is required. Increasing violations against Panglima Laot-Adat Laot customary law, thus, suggest research to explore people’s current perspective toward local wisdom.

“Mirror of Effect” in the Development of Child Behavior During Work From Home (WFH) during the Covid Pandemic 19AbstractWork From Home (WFH) during the Covid 19 pandemic had quite a variety of impacts for everyone. The sudden change in daily habituals always causes emotional unpreparedness in each family member, both parents and children. The purpose of this study is to increase parental awareness of the negative effects that can occur due to interactions that occur between family members and on the development of early childhood behavior. The research method used is literature study. The results showed that; Mirror of effect is a phenomenon that occurs in which children's behavior reflects the behavior of the social environment around them. The characteristics of children who tend to easily imitate, do not have a strong concept of morality and like playing activities, causing the possibility of a Mirror of effect on negative things in the development of their behavior if parents are less able to control emotions during Work From Home during the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, it is hoped that parents will be able to control emotions and always try to create a family environment that is conducive to the development of children's behavior.

Purpose Although the topic of span of control (SOC) has been discussed in detail in management literature and education, less focus has been placed on the decline research since the 1970s and, thus, the future relevance of the concept. By providing a historical overview of the literature on SOC through the work of key management scholars, this paper aims to explain why the literatures’ coverage of the topic has been significantly diminished in recent decades and offers suggestions as to why further research on the topic is needed. Design/methodology/approach The authors provide a historical literature review and analysis on the decline of SOC as a construct of interest. Findings The findings of the paper include a brief analysis of SOC. The concept was a very strong concept that declined as management became more scientific, rejecting classical management theory. This rejection occurred because SOC was impacted by multiple factors making it impossible to effectively study, making it imprecise. Likewise, SOC is too applied and lacked theoretical relevance. However, SOC still has value, especially when paired with a theory such as leader-member-exchange (LMX). Originality/value The authors argue that SOC is still relevant today and management scholars should align its study with its practice in modern organizational structures. However, its focus needs to change and be added to other theories such as LMX.

In this paper, a class of modules which are proper strong concept of weakly supplement extending modules will be introduced and studied. We call a module M is strongly weakly supplement extending, if each submodule of M is essential in fully invariant weakly supplement submodule in M. Many characterizations of strongly weakly supplement extending modules are obtained. We show that M is strongly weakly supplement extending module if and only if every closed submodule of M is fully invariant weakly supplement submodule in M. Also we study the relation among this concept and other known concepts of modules. Moreover, we give some conditions that of strongly weakly supplement extending modules is closed under direct sum property is strongly weakly supplement extending.

Market intelligence (MI) has evolved as a strong concept in last years. After debates which produced various views, a stable conceptual base was reached. Here, MI is studied with the insertion of analytics. The influence of analytics insertion in market intelligence cycle potentializes MI dynamicity, delivering knowledge in a more prompter way for strategic marketing planning decisions, serving both as an example of organizational strategic alignment and fast tactical planning, specially resulting in a context where innovation – product, process, market and organizational types – and its associated management are improved. Reflections around competitive strengths and related perspectives are studied at the end of this text, enabling further discussions and application unfolding.
