This study aims to produce valid cognitive conflict-based interactive multimedia. This study uses the Plomp development model, which reports the results of the preliminary study and the prototyping phase. In the preliminary phase, five journals were analyzed and data were collected through teacher questionnaires. In the prototyping phase, multimedia is designed and self-evaluation is carried out and data collection is carried out through expert review questionnaires. The results of the journal analysis show that students' misconceptions about static fluid material are quite high. The results of the questionnaire show that learning is still teacher-centered, and interactive multimedia teaching materials are not yet available that can improve understanding of 4C concepts and skills. Based on the results of the preliminary research, in the prototyping phase, interactive multimedia based on cognitive conflict was designed using the Adobe Animate cc 2019 application. Interactive multimedia was arranged according to 4 syntaxes of cognitive conflict-based learning models, namely activation of preconceptions and misconceptions, presentation of cognitive conflicts, discovery of concepts and similarities, and reflection. . Each syntax is designed to improve students' conceptual understanding and 4C skills. The results of the interactive multimedia prototype self-evaluation obtained very good criteria. The results of the prototype validity test obtained a very valid category. Interactive multimedia has been valid in material substance, learning design, visual communication display, and software utilization.

The terms atypical parkinsonian disorders (APDs) and Parkinson plus syndromes are mainly used to describe the four major entities of sporadic neuronal multisystem degeneration: progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), multiple system atrophy (MSA), and dementia with Lewy bodies (LBD). APDs are characterized by a variety of symptoms and a lack of disease modifying therapies; their treatment thus remains mainly symptomatic. Brain stimulation via repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a safe and noninvasive intervention using a magnetic coil, and it is considered an alternative therapy in various neuropsychiatric pathologies. In this paper, we review the available studies that investigate the efficacy of rTMS in the treatment of these APDs and Parkinson plus syndromes. Τhe majority of the studies have shown beneficial effects on motor and nonmotor symptoms, but research is still at a preliminary phase, with large, double-blind studies lacking in the literature.

Abstract The cross-border execution of judgments remains difficult in practice for European Member States. This article seeks to analyze why this may be the case with regard to four different modalities of sentences: (1) prison sentences and other measures involving deprivation of liberty, (2) conditional sentences and alternative measures, (3) financial penalties and (4) confiscation orders. Based on a comparative analysis, this article investigates the problems at stake regarding the cross-border execution of judgements in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands and identifies possible causes and explanations for these. The analysis shows that impediments to cooperation may inter alia stem from differences in national law and diverging national sentencing practices and cultures and may furthermore be related to a lack of possibilities for cooperation in the preliminary phase of a transfer. Moreover, some obstacles to cooperation may be country-specific and self-made, due to specific choices and approaches of national criminal justice systems.

Behavioral failures can serve as precursors for accidents. Yet, individual differences in the predisposition to behavioral failures have predominantly been investigated within relatively narrow parameters, with the focus limited to subsets of behaviors or specific domains. A broader perspective might prove useful in illuminating correlations between various forms of accidents. The current research was undertaken as one step toward developing the concept of behavioral failures proneness in its multidimensional aspect. We report the initial stage of the development and validation of the Failures Proneness questionnaire (FP): a brief, multifaceted, self-report scale of common behavioral failures in everyday settings. In a preliminary phase we conceived an extensive pool of prospective items. Study 1 identified and validated the factor-structure of FP and reduced the scale to a brief measure of 16 items. Study 2 corroborated the factor structure of the FP and evaluated its construct validity by assessing its relationship with the Five Factor Model (FFM) of personality traits. Study 3 tested the criterion-related validity of the FP by assessing its ability to predict deviant behaviors. These studies provide evidence of the FP’s performance in generating valuable information on a broad range of behavioral antecedents of accidents.

Detection of corrosion from underwater images is necessary for oil and gas pipelines to eliminate the internal leakages and hazards. The tests utilized a broad range of underwater pictures of various situations. A modern technique for estimating subsea pipeline corrosion based on the colour of the corroded pipe. For corrupted underwater videos, an image reconstruction and enhancement algorithm is created as a preliminary phase. The created algorithm reduces blurring and improves picture colour and contrast. The improved colours in the imaging details aid in the method of corrosion estimation. In this work we proposed a underwater corrosion detection using image processing techniques. Some machine learning and deep learning techniques have been used for classification of corrosion. In experimental analysis various features have been evaluated for detection of corrosion and it introduces better classification accuracy than traditional approaches.

The author undertakes a phenomenological analysis of research process on the example of the philosophical and anthropological study of education. In accordance with the phenomenological approach, the research process with its general methodological regularities is divided into three phases: 1) the preliminary phase of thematization; 2) the phenomenological phase itself, which opens up for the researcher his own direct experience of the subject, its obviousness; 3) the post-phenomenological phase. Within the boundaries of the last phase the tension between "experience" and "language" is resolved, that is, experience is expressed, an exit to the general life world apeears, an approach to certification is carried out. From this point of view, the problem of "reliability" and "identity" is raised, which is especially relevant for the phenomenological perspective. Certain phenomenological solutions to this problem were developed by Hegel and Husserl. Taking into account the existing solutions, three possible versions of the interpretations of the identity are considered: proceeding from objectivity; intersubjectivity; subjectivity. The application of phenomenological analysis to practical, scientific and philosophical fields of research allowed us to distinguish three levels of verification during certification. At the first level, experience, representation and concept come to the fore; at the second level – the requirement of unity of experience, representation and thinking; at the third – a certificate consisting of checking the stability of the trusted before the other / Other. The understanding of the latter has the meaning of a "dialectical movement", according to Hegel, and represents an "infinite horizon... of approximations", according to Husserl. These criteria are explained in the perspective of subjectivity, which reveals its possibilities when compared with interpretations based on the understanding of the true as objective (in particular, when compared with "scientific realists") and intersubjective.

This study was conducted in two phases. The first one is the preliminary phase aimed at tailoring the standard curriculum based on learners’ needs analysis. The second one is the main phase, intended to evaluate the tailored curriculum based on teachers’ views. The participants in the preliminary phase of the study (tailoring the curriculum) were 346 non-native male and female undergraduate students who received the same Pre-Requisite General English course at their first semester in university. They were studying different majors, including Accounting, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The participants in the main phase (evaluation of the tailored curriculum by teachers) were 10 non-native male (7) and female (3) teachers who taught the Pre-Requisite General English course through the tailored curriculum. The findings of the study supported the hypothesis that the teachers have a positive attitude toward using the tailored curriculum in teaching the Pre-Requisite General English course. It seems that the implementation of this tailored program, which is based on learner-needs-analysis, can enhance the effectiveness of the English for General Purposes (EGP) course, compared to the standard one.
